What I can't understand is why they always set up camp in grotty places? I'd be inclined to only stay in nice places, not a bit of wasteland by the side of an industrial estate!
I had two of these little nests in my shed the other week there was only one wasp in though.
I saw it leave so I went in and snapped them off the roof, they havn't come back since.
A few years back at our dirt jumps a swarm of wasps made a nest in one of the jumps so we sprayed the nest with powder.
The next day we went back to assess the situation, no sign of the wasps so me mate took a spade and began to dig the nest out.
All seemed well until some of them took offence and attacked said mate who was off like a shot, unfortunatly one had managed to get in his pocket and sting him.
I was on the floor, other peoples pain (within reason) is comedy gold.
VWT4 for the win, I have had mine nearly 2 years and it's the best thing I have bought.
Like you I had 5K and found a nice one (with 5 seats and bulkhead) and looking round now I would struggle to find one the same spec as mine for five grand.
Scene tax is mental.
Will try the collar thingy, may help as at times I could have done with an extra hand as when I went to pull the brake lever the hose popped off.
Cheers all.
I am bleeding caliper down to leaver (bike at an angle on workstand as per youtube vid).
There is a clean stream of fluid when I compress the bottle but when I let go the bubbles seem to go back up the drain tube back into the master cylinder.
Any tips on clamping the rubber hose to the bleed nipple as it pops off and the seal isn't great.
What Tracknicko says is bang on I have said I will not be going back there until summer. I did a solo night ride before xmas and it was the worst ride I have had in years.
So Jedi if I were you I wouldn't come up until we have a dry spell.
But looking at what you normally ride I can say you would ride the wooden stuff, downhill trails and get to the bottom and say WTF!
I had this a couple of times on my ride yesterday.
However my rear brake packed in at the top of Hope Cross so it was an interesting descent down the Beast I can tell you.
On the climb up to the Snake Pass I was in a world of me own head down grinding away(thinking what I was going to do to me bike once I was home) when a rider came round the bend motoring' making me jump, he did say sorry by the way.
(Anyone off here? he had a couple of dogs with him )
I allways prep my frames myself(don't take their word that they will cover threads etc).
I use spare bolts for mech hanger and old bb cups for bb no need to screw all the way in though.
I have some sticky silver foil tape for steerer tube and seat tube but rock wool will work just make sure it's neetly pressed into the tube.
But places like ARGOS will do this for you but you will pay loads more for it.
Rob.
Was a good-un, first time I have done this route. Was real carnage going down the grass towards the gate at the top of Cavedale, I was pi55ing my self at the comedy crashing going off all around me.
Had two off's myself in the snow but on grass so got away with it,it's the furthest I have ever travelled along side my bike.
Great to get down Cavedale without dabbing in the wet/snow, found a nice step down jump in the quarry bit too.
Deffo up for the next one, oh nice to meet you all.
Rob.
