Snapped as in the top bit? Is the core removable? Spares can be had for cheap for next time.

Pike 454 Coils are lighter and about £220 from “the bay”.

Stuff the LBS opinion – what do you think about them? 🙂 I got some a year ago and was so impressed I got another set for spares in case I bust them.

I can’t believe he likes “rap”, but I can believe he likes Wham.

Seeing as it was for kids he should have done the opening verse of Peter Piper 🙂

If you are worries about protecting your “pride and joy”, then ‘copter tape the frame

Or don’t ride it. One of my friends has recently said he doesn’t want to join us on a Snowdon trip soon as he doesn’t want to damage his bike (in truth he’s a pussy and doesn’t like putting in any effort)

Same guy cleans his bike religiously, degreases chain after every use and goes over the frame with baby wipes (FFS!) once it’s all dried.

    Yep.

But you don’t *need* that BB – i.e. there are others.
I have the Hope (PF41?) that’s convertable for a few uses; currently have SLX cranks, have bought X01 cranks and just need a wee adapter to make them compatible. Hopefully :).

Cafe by day Bistro by night. Can be a bit hit & miss (mostly from teenagers serving), but I’ve had some great meals there.

Best VFM is in second hand or ex-demonstrators. Some shops selling ex-demos will class you as the first owner so the warranty starts with you.

Some of my “mates” rode the Blade a few weeks ago & thought it was shit. I say “mates” cos they didn’t invite me…

Just so happened I was over the hill at Blaengarw having a great time. The blue is over stupidly quickly, but if you like rocks the black is superb. I’d highly recommend.

I hate stopping at the top – why put in the effort, warm up on a climb and then sit on your arse and get cold for the descent?

Isn’t the whole point of mountain biking to enjoy the feeling of being in the outdoors?

Not for me; while I like the outdoors, scenery & wildlife a lot I ride bikes for the buzz.

I never eat at the top as picking stuff out of my teeth on the way down can be very distracting

    I’m 100% with Houns on this, 38 & I’ve known since 17 that I don’t want kids – I have absolutely no paternal instinct/desire.

There’s a lot of people who want & have kids who possibly shouldn’t but people who don’t want them definitely shouldn’t.

    Whoever Rob Hilton works for

I used to be postierob – came so close to “going postal”

I loved delivering scrap paper that went straight in the bin.

Currently NHS, so, while it may not be the most efficient, not a total waste of time.

    Sweet Home Alabama?

Nope, or any of their others – the point of the thread right there.

Now, Johnny Cash – don’t like any of his songs (that I’ve heard). Mind you I thought the same of Dolly Parton til I heard 9 to 5 🙂

Lots of pharmacists sell diclofenac now which I reckon is more effective on ribs than paracetemol or ibuprofen…

Some evidence exists that NSAIDs inhibit the body’s ability to repair fractures.

what are the strongest painkillers one can acquire?
    On prescription, Tramadol

Something like fentanyl is waaaaay stronger. And they won’t let you have it for sore ribs 🙂

I’m currently on tramadol for rib fractures & a bruised kidney and can’t wait to get off it – made me madly depressed the last time I came off it after a week of use 😕

Masala dosa – if you can find anywhere that does them; I’m working away in Swindon ATM and drove all the way to Bristol on Friday cos I couldn’t find anywhere doing dosai any closer.

Southern Indian food is the only good reason to live in Leicester 🙂

As I tend to do the iDave thing 6 days a week and the occasional proper pig-out day a colleague has suggested I try the McNuggets challenge – 100 of the blighters – sounds grim. He’s seen someone attempt it and only get to 26 whilst sweating profusely and feeling very sick.

Think I’ll pass and just have my usual curry & beer treat.
