Those NHS cards are missing the word “substantive”, which in NHS (& maybe public sector) speak means permanent, not:

    sub·stan·tive (sbstn-tv)
    adj.
    1. Substantial; considerable.
    2. Independent in existence or function; not subordinate.
    3. Not imaginary; actual; real.
    4. Of or relating to the essence or substance; essential: substantive information.
    5. Having a solid basis; firm.
    6. Grammar Expressing or designating existence; for example, the verb to be.
    7. Grammar Designating a noun or noun equivalent.

+ many for Charile’s stuff. The kits are good.

    I use:

Gusset Bachelor (tried a Superstar spring loaded one that confused me and (I think) died :) )

    Stretch resistant KMC chain

Whatever chainrings I’ve got – currently on a 38 with 36s in the spares bin

Switch between wide & normal footed cog (for when I hit the mountains!) – can’t really see any diff.

You may find 32:16 a bit easy – obv. depends on variables, I normally use 38:15, but I’m harder than Chuck Norris.
It’s also quite flat where I live

Going out for a bike ride would be antisocial.

    That’s me summed up then!
But I did ask if anyone wanted to come along

My plan is to get a ride in before pub with chums* 12-2, then family din-dins.

*Rob can’t believe he wrote “chums”. What a ****

In that it’s based around Light Hydrocarbon solvents NOT Petrol!

My mistake! Dunno what light hydrocarbons are but it’s sure good for getting a fire started.

    Edit: From Wikepaedo

The catalyst-free hydrocarbons are routed to a main fractionator for separation into fuel gas, LPG, gasoline, naphtha, light cycle oils used in diesel and jet fuel, and heavy fuel oil.

I’m happy with my layman’s term description

Very entertaining live, but not the kind of thing you’d bother to see twice.

Malaga area? A bit sprawling and hideous, but some nice riding to be had not far inland.

This drug is four times more dangerous than the date rape drug

    The date rape x 4 = Burundanga
Wonder if it gives a nicer buzz if you smoke it?

I’ve used Rock n Roll blue all year round for years – nasty shit it is!
Petrol based and eats your skin if you don’t wash it off straight away.

Think I might have a go with the waxy stuff when my current vat of it runs out.

So after cleaning bike the chain is all wet, if you leave it it will rust.

Dry the chain & cogs with a towel.

Be warned: You wouldn’t like Rob when he’s displeased.

Obviously it’s very unlikely to be the last number you choose

Rob doubts this; he believes it’s certain to be the last number you choose.

It has some pretty poorly conceived sections and a ‘freeride’ track that is just bobbins.

Not that I don’t enjoy riding there.
I enjoy riding everywhere; just ridden to the doc’s for a flu jab, it was great! Until someone stuck a needle in my arm.

I used to have a hard shell and it was a PITA!
Heavy, cumbersome and a uni-directional wheel at each corner meant going round corners was a bit problematic.

Easyjet managed to destroy it and gave me a fraction of it’s replacement cost which was enough to cover the cost of a soft shell which I’m much happier with. It’s lined with a bike box, free from my friendly LBS, to give it extra rigidity.

For a one-off just a cardboard box would probly see you right.

When i get to work and see his bike chained up, he’s got a pump attached to his frame.

Drop of superglue in pump as revenge?

Anytime I say hello when I meet him at the bike racks, he just looks at the ground and ignores me.

    Although, maybe he’s painfully shy/autistic?

    Churchill Arms

Pretty famous pub, very nice, can get very busy though. Does pretty decent beer (for a Laandan boozer) and reasonable Thai meals at decent prices.

The really nice thing about it is the vast amount of flowers surrounding you in the restaurant bit.

Am leaning towards full suss if lots of braking bumps to give my lower back an easier time. Are there any jumps/berms/fun bits?

    Yes. Monkey moreso than Dog.

Make your way over to http://chasetrails.co.uk/downhill.php as well if you fancy a bit more jumpy/droppy. Not extreme gnarr, but I’ve broken a collar bone there

I am picking this in preference to riding s.wales trail centres.

I’d go to S Wales if the travelling time was similar. If you’re making a bit of a journey to Cannock you may be a bit disappointed.

Not that it’s not fun to ride – riding anywhere’s great!

I like to use a gear that gives me a bit of pace on the flat – 38:15 round Sherwood Pines today. Would have had some trouble on the short climby bits had I been on flats.
