    Hmmm…

Or are her dresses a bit tight and jokes inappropriate?

As an aside how well do the braniacs on here do on Universally Challenged? I was *forced* to watch Mastermind and play the Genus edition of Trivial Pursuit as a child, which left me mentally scarred and was no fun as I was a CHILD and knew none of the answers!

Now I’m a big boy I like to get my own back my whupping my parents’ intellectual butts by challenging them when UC and Only Connect are on.
Mind you they are getting on a bit and their powers of recall aren’t as sharp as they were.

Bit of a curve ball here – Rory McGrath.
Sometimes funny, often stupidly immature, but furiously knowledgeable.

Or Henry Kelly  Always thought he was a bit of a joke, but his years of presenting Goping 4 Gold must have taught him something – saw him in a celeb type quiz some years ago and was amazed at his general knowledge.

Two snowmen in a field, one says to the other “Can you smell carrots?”

The other says “Yeah! And I can taste coal!”

i do 3-4 spinning classes a week and incorporate mostly climbs

3 or 4 of pretty much the same class?

Taking a couple of those out and replacing with short, puke inducing intensity interval sessions could benefit you – if you can find a way of doing so.

Because, leaving aside the literalism of American pronunciation, you wouldn’t tell your mates in the UK that you were going for a weekend in Paree would you?

If I wanted to be ostracised I might.

Sooo…. Bavarian Munich or Bayern München?

How do I say it? Clurks.

If I came across the word in another context I’d pronounce it Clarks.

Do the gym do spinning classes?

Sometimes I like to ignore the instructor, whack the resistance right up and grind away standing up for a good half hour while the rest of the group looks at me sweating and heaving like I’m a nutter.

    If only they knew.

A rose by any other name would smell as sweet.

Edit: “Is there any evidence of anyone actually turning up with “the wrong bike”

I wish people would get that right ! One day somebody will turn up with a big rig and goggles, and be very disappointed. Or a hard tail and lycra, and be very scared.

I’ve seen someone running* triple clamp forks on the Dyfi Enduro and I’ve ridden it on a hard tail dressed in lycra.

What fools! If only we’d consulted our dictionaries prior to setting off we could have both swapped out* for a more sensible choice of weapon*

*I believe these are the “correct” terms, but am happy to be corrected by someone more in tune with **** bike mag terminology.

Don’t think much of Arthur Strong on the radio, but live I was really impressed. Saw him at the Leicester comedy festival preview show* a couple of years ago and he is an excellent actor and was very amusing.

    *Brilliant annual event BTW.

    He’s no Ed Reardon.

Couldn’t get into The Jury cos the prosecuting barrister had such a distinctive voice, most distracting!

Could have been an ingrowing hair. They can grow for years and years inside the follicle curling round and round until it all becomes too much.

I know someone who nearly died from an ingrowing hair coiled around his spine – fist sized he claimed. One day he just collapsed without warning, got rushed to hospital where they found it and chopped it out. Apparently it would have done for him if it’d been another week or two.

    No video of it though…

I have to leave it a few weeks as a cold always descends into my lungs and lingers for a good while; I’m asthmatic enough to need a preventative inhaler and have a history of bronchitis.

That said a good ride hard slog towards the end really helps shake it – the timing is hard to judge though, last time I got it wrong and made it worse again, another attempt a week later cleared it nicely.

You’re gonna have to eat a lot of eggs to “recoop” the cost of that.

    For some reason I’m doubtful.

The finding of pron at his hideout was well publicised as soon as possible and is likely to be an attempt to discredit OBL in the Islamic world as such materials are considered haraam (norty).

That’s not to say he didn’t enjoy a good old fashioned donkey show

*Depending on whether people are prepared to be heartless in the name of cost savings, any treatment for the terminally ill that will prolong their life and not cure them could be axed.

The slogan “Man up & die for your country!” could be the next “Keep calm and carry on”. But it probly wouldn’t stimulate sales of spin-off paraphernalia about cup cakes etc.

Is that the kind of thing you wanted to hear?
Are bullets cheaper than pain meds?

the real challenge is going to be provision of a decent standard of elderly care

I think the Mach routes are being re-signed & re-routed at the mo, so may not be “operational”. Nant-y gets my vote every time for nice XC-ness and couldn’t enjoy the descent of the Climachx more – which reminds me, it’s been a while…

Edit: New Mach routes are available here: http://www.dyfimountainbiking.org.uk/Dyfi_MTB/Welcome.html
    I’d contact http://www.theholeytrail.co.uk/ to check.

but want to get roughly 25/30% sag

How much do you get at the moment?
Find out what you’ve got in there.

The obvious guess would be medium, but I prefer soft in some Domains I have and anything over extra soft in my boxxers make them stupidly firm – I’m a silth like 70kg.

Recently introduced my GFs 14 YO niece to the wonders of Eddie Izzard and she loves it!

On the flip side one of friends really doesn’t think he’s funny, but then he finds Steve Wright in the afternoon entertaining.

Was originally looking for knee only hard shell pads, but found nothing I at a price I liked – worth a mere tenner to find out with these I reckon.

I was looking for replacements for Rally DH pads recently and thought I’d go with the ones from CRC as I already know they fit and are comfy – and were a bargain £27!

The design had changed a little from a few years ago and I’ve got a bit of an issue with the tops of them rubbing on the sides of my legs, creating sore spots :(

Tried wearing a pair of knee supports yesterday instead of faffing with plasters and it worked fine – skin left intact!

Have had this issue before with other pads, but don’t think I did with my original RF ones. Otherwise I’d say get ’em, especially if still cheap. Good for pedalling in and v. good crash protection.
