    Big busy, busy, busy city.
I couldn’t wait to get out of it and explore!

If you like temples & shrines Nikko & Kamakura are ace (daibutsu is BIG!) quite touristy (Japanese tourists) but not tacky.

Sod the guide, plan what you want to do and you’ll find people who will help you when you are lost 🙂 Loads of people speak English, but aren’t necessarily forthcoming.

Sumo is good fun if you are there at just the right time – turn up early for cheap seats, reserve by putting something on it and it’ll be waiting for you when you return for the big bouts.

Trying to find addresses e.g. for a recommended restaurant can be a nightmare, so allow plenty of time.

Getting to Fuji area wouldn’t take long by shinjuku, climbing it wouldn’t be high on my list, but (if you get a clear day – often cloud-shrouded) the views would be great.

Looks like it’s got some gnaarr rock gardens 🙂

I’ve used RRs tubeless – PITA! Needed to use plenty of washing up liquid & faffing to get them to seal and they lost air frequently.

    Went back to LUST HRs

Arithmetic or arithmetics (from the Greek word ???????, arithmos “number”) is the oldest and most elementary branch of mathematics

Being the most elementary branch of mathematics, arithmetics would be:

    Simple mathematics

I’ve put front and back on “backwards” with a few different kinds of tyre without noticing

I am a clumsy luddite, though.

I remember a yeti frame you got quite cheap on bikeradar and then sold it on pinkbike for quite a bit more as a full bike.

    Stalker?

if you buy snap-on only buy parktools you will understand the price and quality

Was that meant to be sardonic?

Licence scenario very different educational bits of paper.
The most disruptive and unhardworkingest person I’ve had the great misfortune to “work” with was exceptionally well qualified.

And a backstabbing, selfish, greedy, childish excuse for a human being

Alu ones have been shortlived IME. Steel ones with grease work fine.
Tried medium strength loctite once and had a hell of a time getting them undone!

1st time had surgery after 6 weeks – indescribable pain, 2nd time didn’t need it, but was still off the bike for a few months and on a turbo – LAME!!

Both times: developed quite a codeine habit 🙂 Great stuff, but it turns your poo to stone and you’re not in the best state to be forcing.

I met someone on a DH holiday who insisted jeans were plentiful protection whilst I was all power-rangered up.

We probly crashed about the same amount but I was able to walk properly at the end of the holiday and could stand 1 more day’s uplift riding than him 🙂

Does TJ not wear a seatbelt when he drives cos he’d be more likely to crash?

Turn the other cheek – tell him he can buckle the front one as well.

WC Tracks should not be built to the low standard of Women’s riding

    C’mon! Somebody bite!
I don’t feel it’s my place to be aggrieved by this.

Brightly coloured pyjamas seem to be popular.

    Nothing under the pressure suit

This gives me jogger’s nipple 😕

Hill repeats. You must have some hills?
Or are you in The Netherlands?

Maybe spinning classes, ignoring the instructor and simulating hills that way? Works pretty well for me when I want to replicate the prolapse inducing effort of singlespeeding without actually going anywhere 🙂

    cookeaa – Parallel lives!!

I’m the wine drinker, but I’m not allowed to use the nice wine glasses!

Cath Kidston wipe-clean bags are the current obsession, when she’s got the entire set she’ll fill a wardrobe with them and move onto something else.

She can’t get any more Fly boots cos she’s got them in EVERY colour – and can’t fit any more in the (large) cupboard.

    Her money though 🙂

    n+1 isn’t just for bikes it seems…
