Have asked the about 3 people I know, but would be surprised at this short notice – have you asked the nice people @ Revolution if one of them would like to join us?

Also, Mr Ton, do we need to bring our own sossyjizz?

For sure; I’ll be taking up interstellar travel until that becomes affordable to the masses.

I used to have something like that ^ was heavy and cumbersome.
When Easyjet destroyed it I went for a bag and line it with a cut to size box from my LBS.
Much nicer, cheaper, plenty stiff and way easier to cart around.

If I was going to the cashpoint – the only time I don’t wear a helmet.
But I could still die from massive rectal head injuries/lose the skin from my fingers in that short distance.

I wear full fingers on my road bike, which some people think is odd, but it I crash I’d like the best chance at preserving the skin on my pinkies

Maybe I should go for industrial gauntlets?

I’ve been with Switchbacks many time as the winch & plummet approach appeals to me lots 🙂 The town is also very nice, but a bit of a timewarp.

Accom isn’t that hot and the organisation can be a bit “Spanish” at times, but I love it. The general attitude suits those who want a hard, fun, riding holiday, not those who want luxury and mince about  Plenty of novice riders go and really sharpen their skills there but I’ve found that, as I’m more capable on a bike than when I 1st went, the trails just get more & more fun

I really *need* to ride in Northern Italy sometime but keep going back to Southern Spain as there’s so many great places to visit as well as great riding. If/when I do I reckon it’ll be RivieraBike or Finale (sp?) Freeride.

    What a coincidence!

I was just gonna start a thread re: personal accident insurance asking if anyone’s got any that specifies road cycling, road cycling as a commuter, mountain biking (home/abroad/at altitude), DH etc.

    I think I still might…

why do we get insured to ride abroad but not at home?

We may not be in a country with a reciprocal agreement with the NHS?

Getting an ambulance home in UK is much easier than sorting a flight from abroad (although you *may* be charged for the ambulance).

Literally the bolts broke in half inside the linkage.

Done this to an RM Slayer and seen it happen on an RM Flatline, must have been made from some kinda Canadian cheese.

Landed a drop a bit squiffy, slid down hill and twatted tree with the bottom of the front wheel.
Headset & BB cups were a bugger to get out as the frame deformed all over the place and the forks are now only good for attacking burglars.

Nipped the saddle from the rails with my balls too – freaking painful that was!

Once I’d stopped rolling around on the ground I was amazed at the shape of the frame, reckon if it did it to a BFe it would have done it to most frames.

Running forks that are too long!

Hey! I quite liked them at 130mm. At 160 it handled like a bag of spanners though 🙂

Take all replies with a pinch of salt.

    Especially this one

172cm tall and found the small BFe to be a good fit with a 50mm stem, but hurt my back a bit climbing mountains due to the stiffness and being slightly cramped (and a history of bike-related self harm).

Was nice and stable in the air and built into a (poss. too) light bike which was a lot of fun for doing most things on until I killed it dead

I use KMCZ610 (I think!) stretch resistant chain, gusset bachelor tensioner (un-sprung) and 38:15 on 26″ wheels.

Felt like a nutter for the 1st 3 weeks of SS, but got over it and rather like it. Takes a while to build up strength, but it’s all good once you’re used to it.

36 and have one of these – it’s great to ride but I can do sod all with it

Also have one of these and, while I’m capable of pointing it down hills, living in the East Mids means it’s also fairly surplus to requirements

Having them means I no longer lust after such items, so am free to go merrily about my life.

I saw a group recently where one had paid for speedy boarding and then bagged a load of seats

I once fought my way to the middle of the plane to get a bit of extra legroom to find someone already there had “bagsied” the only one left with a cardigan, for his mate.

I chucked the cardigan at him, told him to pi$$ off and sat down

Maybe seek out some DJ Shadow under his real name – Josh Davis. He, at least, used to DJ under his own name for funk/soul nights and played the phattest funk/soul tracks no-one else had.
