I’ve been doing this for years. Currently on paying net £3.98 a month each for mine and my GF’s contracts – extortionate for me – the previous contract boiled down to 99p a month 🙂

Buy the crap phone with the best terms, bin phone (or get small amount of money back on it from recycling)*, get new flashy one (usu. PAYG is cheapest), transfer SIM card and you can show off to all the kids in the playground you’re just as hip and with it as they are for a fraction of the cost.

*I struggle on with the crap ones cos I’m tight 🙂 If you’ve never had better you never know any different 😉

General advice is not to ring/speak to/contact in any way other than standard letter telling them in nice legally abiding terms to produce evidence etc.

Of course, making people experience the trauma of riding on the road would be nice, but that won’t happen so why make a pointless suggestion?

My first thought regarding this is that it won’t change a thing, but how do I know that? Isn’t it possible that trying to get people interested and having an proactive attitude might go some way to making some positive change?

In the days when I used to have some munny I had a current account with no DDs etc. specially for this purpose that could be closed down with no knock on effect. I’d make manual transfers in and out as required to keep the deal until it was up and then go to the next similar offer. My pay and DDs being in my ‘real’ current account.

Takes a bit of being organised, but was worth the small amount of time it took me every month.

IMO it was rather a light bike all things considered and didn’t kick my ass half as bad as the uber-rigid Kona Stuff I used to have.

IIRC There’s a cable car near Lake Como – no idea if bikes are allowed or there’s any worthwhile riding.

Have you tried sleeping sitting up? It’s not the most fun, but can work out.

Superb! Great tracks there.

One of my mates rides there regularly and has recently gone for wetscreams front and back – claims they’re great. Some of the descents are seriously hard to control yourself on when wet* as they’re steep and twisty, but I don’t know that the rocky bits would be that great with them – but it’s mostly not rock 🙂

Probably not if you’re not used to them. It’s pretty pedally and not steep.

low pressure for more grip?

Not my approach – you may end up hitting bumpy bits faster/harder than usual and lower pressure could lead to dinged rims etc. Grip will be taken care of by your tyres/suspension and technique – e.g.not breaking in the wrong place.

Makes me want to shop elsewhere, but where else can fulfil my desire for uber-pimping my “steed” sell me such goppingly coloured components
