Sounds like your landlord might be thinking get it in now before any legislation is passed to protect you and then being stuck for who knows how long.

Very much this I think. The landlords are retired, live in France and are getting on a bit. They tried to sell a couple of years ago. They could probably afford to drop their asking price by a lot too as they bought it decades ago, so would still make a killing.

We’re in Reading, BTW. So if there’s anyone who needs a Tennant who can be bothered to look after the place they live in, give me shout :)

Are you in a position to buy? Especially if there is 2 of you.

No, but I think I can get in position pretty quickly.

I’m not buying with him! He does **** all cleaning – not even himself by the smell of his bedroom 😷😷

If she’s wormed off have you been cast aside? Could you see a relationship therapist trained psychoannelidical techniques? Did she just lose her rag and give you a lug full?

    Great work!

    Am right with you there

I could possibly try and justify it – and I can see the Pritti Patel thing as well – but it would get me banned and probably arrested.

    Still with you…

So sad that vacuum clippers aren’t a thing

So, really nothing to do with the clippers. Do you still have a corded phone too? 🙂

In a way – I carry a fat battery pack round with me as I keep forgetting to charge my phone.

I also keep forgetting to charge the battery pack 😞

TBH the real PITA with my current setup is that it only now works from the mains, so I’m trailing an extension lead.

The PITA I experienced with cordless ones was that whenever I came to use them I hadn’t charged them…

I just shave my head straight onto the carpet – it’s a good motivator to bother to vacuum :)

    Unless there’s an implication of:
    Dead black man = funny.

Absolutely no need to point out he’s a man…

Every single person who has a tattoo will say they have it for themselves, right…

Woman I work with had her 2 niece’s names `in Chinese’ on her back “for them”.

She doesn’t care if the symbols are actually Chinese or whether they say her niece’s names (100% guarantee they don’t 😁), because she got them done “for them”.

Apparently, according to other colleagues this is “nice”.

I told other colleagues I got my nipples peirced for my niece and nephew – apparently this is “weird”…

*I didn’t really get them peirced “for them” but if I had then it would have (in my mind) actually been less crazy than the non-Chinese name tattoos.

I appreciate Chris Hoy has done many a heavy squat to help explosive power from a standstill, but aren’t squats for cycling in general not helpful??

Squats for downhilling I can understand.

if that were true then pro athletes wouldn’t need to do any training other than play their sport. Is that the case?

Good observation. Taking it somewhere less physical like snooker – possibly distance running to develop stamina for long matches could be of benefit, but could the same stamina be gained from playing progressively longer? Which would mean working on the specific skills required at the same time.

Developing muscles in a way that aren’t specific to the sport could have a downside of carrying more muscle than necessary and using more energy/oxygen but could also be beneficial in injury prevention. I think??

Probably, but that doesn’t mean they all develop at the same rate or to the optimum extent e.g. due to poor form or another confounding factor like being otherwise sedentry such as due to a desk based job.

    Good point.

It’s a big thing in Wing Chun and, probably many other Chinese martial arts, to help enable you to move as one unit instead of torso leading and your feet catching up.

Surely for anyone clipped in or runners it’s a super important muscle.

Don’t all the muscles you need for an activity develop as you repeatedly do said activity?

Of course none of us are stupid enough to be unaware of Director of Public Prosecutions v Barreto (2019).

“There is also a related offence (although it carries fewer penalty points) of not being in control of a motor vehicle.”

Shit! I’m currently not in control of a motor vehicle.
Can anyone provide a watertight alibi for me?
