that’s just the news i was wishing for! Going up there on friday

ive got some, had for a few years, never had any probs.

but, after a go on an other bike i thought mine had a lot of sag and could do with a servise. but on stripping them down they was fine inside, so just a oil change.

but i did find out the spring that comes with them is for a 63 to 70kg rider. i’m 85kg so have just got a new extra firm spring (80kg+) not fitted yet but will see how i go

also i never used the u-turn. but this winter i had a play with them and found it really makes the big climbs better when you turn them down

to be fair the ride back over cut gate was much better, after we (more so me) walked our bikes to the top. Could ride it all really, the ice was a little tricky tho 😳

piston- yer thats the type of route i was thinking of, if you know the area and don’t mind leading that world be great!

Steve- i was thinking of the carpark near the roundabout, but where ever is the best for everyone? I just picked it at random really!

Anybody know what meeting place would be best?

i always think of a boot as a “get me home” fix, so i’d say bin.

but thats just what i’d do, maybe cry a little at having to buy a new tyre 😥

    i’d say MTFU,

but i live just down the road from you, in Rothwell and work in wetherby and would never ride to work anyway! to far for me before work!

yer no need for long travel, there is a short bike track (250m) with a few log drops, table tops, bearm etc if you want to add a little bit of fun

not sure if setting off from helmsley, but Dalby in only 20mins away.

if you ride over the moors this time of year it will be boggy and hard work.

thanks Tess, forks striped and all work fine now 😛

are people free most fridays? i’m off every fri and would be up for a regular ride, even if its once a month or so!

    robhenry85

well i did get there, but at 12.30 🙁

i thought i might as well have a ride and could bump into you.

well ride was cut short after an hour, thought i’d use the u-turn on my forks (i never do) so wound in down. when i got to the top of the hill i wound it back up, but because i dont use it the u-turn bit had seased, so i ended up screwing the top of my fork off 🙄

well i did get it back in but only had about 80mm travel and not knowing if it would pop off again the ride back down was not as good as it could be!

but still had a fun hour.

i’m free most fridays so let me know if you meet up again and i will try and get down on time.

do u mean the bridge next to salts mill? where can i park round there?
how long ish will ride take?
