Presume you're using the gears to best effect? On really steep sections I find it helpful to perch on the nose of the saddle. Also helpful to visualise keeping the chain constantly taut

For full effect, listen to any Brit SuperBike rider interviewed pre/post race, every utterance MUST be preceded with 'yeeaahh no,….'

Everyones metabolism gets a little knocked by the time changing – eg. if you're used to a moderate snack around 10am. It's only 12 now & I'm 'kin starving!

Not intended to be depressing, but getting through some difficult 1st pregnancy issues with my other half, has brought us closer together. Hopefully next time…
It's surprising how many have been through the same experience, think it's 1 in 3 pregnancies end in miscarriage. Standing ovation to Simpsons maternity in Edinburgh, and any mid-wifery unit. Damn that's a tough job.

The 'new' book, 'Ring of Fire'[/url] , on Rossifumi / Motogp's getting good reviews. Stocking fillers anyone??

Great quality work there, conditions so much better than last year. Love the sequence of the lad getting off, pushing up then near collapse at the hill-top. It's a good course that doesn't get the coverage it deserves, IMO. (reckon there were a few more offs mind you!)

(PS it's Drovers Tryst, in case you can change it)

Enjoyed "That Weird Light.." a couple of weeks ago – esp. the veering off topic & sporadic attempts to bring it back on again. Plus I just noticed the hidden sport of adding to thread tags… 😈

Agreed on the Hitler thread though, it gets better & better as you become more acclimatised to the forum.

Clocks go back Saturday night – i.e.
Saturday – last shot for daylight past 5 pm
Sunday – get up normal time, find you're mysteriously early for everything, use time for a ride..
(at least, that's part of my personal plan!)

(apologies for lack of pic – lousy work internet!)

Tomas Haake, out of Meshuggah; manages to maintain the weirdest, most 'off-time' drumming for hours on end. Try 'New Millenium Cyanide Christ' for a taster… 😈

Also Paul Bostaph; amazing precision & seriously fast.

That canadian comic Stewart Francis is pretty good – "my chemistry teacher and I didn't have any…… rapport"

Fave from film is the response at the end of this:

    MAUDE
I like it too. It's a male myth
about feminists that we hate sex.
It can be a natural, zesty enterprise.
    But unfortunately there are some
    people–it is called satyriasis in
    men, nymphomania in women–who engage
in it compulsively and without joy.

    DUDE
    Oh, no.

Though it might be more to do with the delivery – no prizes for guessing the film?

    Maynard James Keenan, once again…

Do they have to be alive? If not, – Layne Staley; had major issues but his haunting vocals stay with you.
New AIC singer sounds eerily similar…

Mr @rsetony has pretty much summed it up…
Keeps you plugged-in to nature / outdoors, & distances you from a society hell-bent on easier, quicker, low quality stack-high sell cheap, more aggression, less consideration ethos.. ethes.. (what's the plural on that?)
    😀

Rode decent motorbikes for some time before taking to the light-side, how much you can lean with the bike depends a lot on the camber available – i.e. pretty much in-line with the frame (pedals level) on berms, much less so in flat corners. The Dirt School DVD has excellent breakdowns for cornering (+ many other aspects…)

Thrice welcome – it may take a while to become acclimatised to the humour here, but stick with it & it becomes 2nd nature! I thought the place was a vicious & brutal land to begin with, now it's all warm & cuddly 😆

there were about 50+ supporters with arm chairs and beers and rattles and horns and all sorts of paraphanalia

You sure can't beat enthusiastic spectators, like the shouty Brian Blessed clone on the Bealach Beag last May. Bit different for the guys standing in one place for hours on end though…

Dont worry about education in Armadale, Offroading – we (read 'the construction mob I work for') just finished the new school there!

George, at least you'll be closer to Comrie Croft, still a distance away but well worth a trip. + you can call on the Pentlands collective if you're desperate! 🙂

If I might pull this one to a close on-topic, ( :D), Ms. DGOAB and myself enjoyed even more dry / clear conditions – it canna last! The next-lower descent on CastleLaw was pretty damn boggy though ('..just bloody cleaned this!..') but I learned another couple of linky-sections for much future use. Thanks, Claire.

Hoping all else got out in the sun!

Think I'll take the Pitch up for a laugh – one of those brown ones if you spot it Steve. Would normally be done by 10.30 mesel, but wedding party tonight may necessitate extra recuperation time…

Looking nice (clear & crisp) tomorrow, anyone else for some head-clearing?

(PS Kit – pathetically, can't find the 'all sizes' on your pics; may require direct e-mail sure enough!)
