11-42 X 38 should give you all the low down grunt you need, that’s what I run.

I found that link way out on my psi, about 8 psi too high.

I also put Nino Schurters stats in and they came out at 9-10psi too high

Funny I managed to drive all over France and Spain on a British driving license before we joined the EEC as it then was. Even parents of my friends did the same before us with never a problem even when Franco was in charge.

Frankconway, I can see you have never looked at factory construction, take a look at Huf Haus, Baufritz, Scandia Hus, Stommel Haus, Hanse Haus the list goes on, some of these houses run into millions of pounds.

Those with a chip on their shoulder should read the facts before spouting off.

All dwellings have to conform to the building regulations, over the years they have been increased not decreased. The quality of building materials has also increased over the past few years.

One of the only ways that more houses can be built is to shift lots of the construction into factories which turn out a highter quality product and cheaper.

That to me is far too much psi in those tyres, lower to mid 30’s would be where I would be if I weighed 92kg. You may be putting undue stress on the wheels as you have little cushioning on rough ground.

I have mid 20’s in my tyres though only 60kg, at that pressure I’ve ridden some quite rocky terrain on a French enduro course without problems.

I’ll be 70 in a few weeks will be looking for donations towards a new Ragley Blue Pig when the new one comes out.

So you could make a donation to something big for your Dad.

Last year for my 69th I bought a Bird Aeris to replace my Meta.

It must be 30 odd years since I rode the Surrey Hills we didn’t have any names for them then, just rode to our hearts content.

They would have put sealant in them not slime, I would clean them out and put in fresh sealant it’s probably dryed out anyway.

What tyre are you running on the front?

Lower that pressure, I’m at 18psi with a 2.35 Magic Mary.

So what sealant are you using?

I’ve been riding gravel tubeless for 3+ years never had a problem, also MTB tubeless for 8 years the same.

My MOT ran out on the 18/4, I tried to tax for 1/5 on the 12/4 but had to wait until the MOT ran out before the 6 month exstension was applied.

Did this on the 19/4 all went through.

I’ve been lucky enough to see Geoff’s bikes in the flesh since 1985. Back then we used to have a monthly ride either at Wendover or with Dave Wrath-Sharman around Surrey Hills. We all still go for a yearly ride at Wendover in the depths of the December mud, it’s customary to spend 50% of the day talking bike the rest riding.
Last year ther was only 3 of us.

We’ve gone through plenty on the farm over the years, best one so far is a Honda UMK 435 UE.

The first time I met Geoff Apps back in the mid 80’s he said I was running too much air in my tyres, he had 18psi and so did a lot of the group we rode with, it’s taken a long time for people to catch on. I know that Nino runs 17-18psi in his tyres.

Over the years I’ve had plenty of different brands, I’ve found the Madisons to be good value and comfy. I have 2 pairs of Madisons, 2 Altura and 4 DHB road tights, high end ones.

This where I bought my last ones, https://www.tredz.co.uk/cycling-shorts-under-shorts

I have a DHR WT 2.4 on the back with a 2.35 Magic Mary on the front on DT Swiss xm 1501 which are 30mm, the Magic Mary is still the bigger tyre by 4mm. The profile on both tyres is spot on as that’s the size rim WT tyres were made for.

On the farm I use 3mm Oregon Flexiblade, cuts faster than anything I’ve used before plus it never seems to break just wears down.

So what width are the rims, what tyre width and what psi are you running them at.

Every time this comes up there is always big difference in the individual person. When I’ve seen figures for my own age group they can be as much as 40-50bpm different.

My max is 186bpm and I can ride for well over an hour 170bpm, I’ll be 70 in a few months but they are just numbers for me to work with.

Well I’m a smidge over 5’4″ and my Commencal Meta is a small, my Bird Aeris is a small. I have long legs for my height 31″ inside leg. I’ve been running short stems 32-50mm on my bikes for the last 14 years to get a decent fit. It’s one of the problems of running a high saddle position against your height, keeps you further away from the bars, lucky I have a + ape.

All the MTB’s I bought back in the mid 80’s were small, even had a frame built for me, in all this time testing a bike before you buy was normally out of the window as most shops only stock medium and large.

Missed that point in the OP on the make and model.

You can’t ignore it because if you return to the UK your vehicle could get flagged and you could be dealing with the police.

Best to submit details of the vehicle to TFL and why the fine was incorrectly made.

My lane which is inside the M25, just, and is all farmland has a LEZ.
This is where to go for checking your vehicle.

A van has to be over 3.5 GVW to be charged, you don’t say what vehicle it is as one minute it’s a van then a car. If the vehicle in question is diesel and under 3.5 GVW then you are exempt.

If it’s a footpath 1.5metres, bridlepath 3metres, byway 3metres. If a border around a field 1metre of sterile ground from a hedge. Conservation borders are 6metres from the 1metre sterile border but can have crops in them.

Use acertone to remove any goo as it won’t leave any residue, or nail varnish remover which is acertone.
