    OOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    HAAAAAAAARSH!
And I know what brand you mean and why you’ve said it as well.
    I’ll say again – OOOOOOHHHH!

Yeah it’s great when a company knows there is something wrong with their bikes but can’t be bothered sorting it out, carrying on selling them even though they know it’s an easy fix.

Won’t be getting on one of those types of bikes again.

Don’t think you can get the whole bike for under a grand any more.

No you can’t. He He He…
I got the last one at £1050, and its being posted today, woo-chuffin-hoo!!!

I’m so excited I may pop.

    Which WILL be messy. :-)

But are people finding Spesh, Trek etc dull as they are expecting them to be average and safe, or are they actually just as good as the boutique stuff? Are the cutting edge bikes different on ways they shouldn’t be just so they can be different?

I just want a reliable proven bike with a good guarantee that I can depend on. I’ve had enough of niche brands now and just want something that works. A bike that has been thoroughly researched over years, not dreamt up in someones shed.

    Cheers Peter.
Or I will ride it down the backstreet in my dressing gown, as soon as I’ve cobbled it together, then fall off turning into the drive, graze my knee and scratch the top tube where I can see it everytime I ride it.

    That’s what normally happens. :-)

It’ll be pointed over Cut Gate as soon as I can get there with it. I have an appointment with some rocks. :-)

I really really cannot wait for mine to come. If my brother is jumping over stuff on his (he’s a big girls blouse really, ;-)) it’s probably pretty special.

My first full suss as well!!!!

Oh, and I am one of the most anally retentive researchers about stuff before I buy it but when it comes to bike stuff I just ask my brother (peterpoddy) ‘cos I know with one phone call I’ll get an honest answer tailored to myself. He’s never let me down on that front. He really should be writing stuff for mags/websites IMHO.

Me and my brother will have the same bike.

If you want a Pitch you’d better be quick. I just got the last medium one from cyclestore.co.uk and the Concept Centre in Chester say they are not making any more and Spesh UK have none left.

With an iPhone you absolutely must get unlimited data. I have received 944mb since September and I shudder to think how much that would cost me on my last orange contract. £35 a month with o2 has 500mins and 600texts which is ample for me. Get a 16gb one too, I made the mistake of getting the 8gb one and wish I had paid more. I think it might be free now though. No issues with o2 myself either. Getting apple care package is well worth thinking about. I have not damaged mine even though I use it everywhere (including bike) but a work colleague smashed his to bits dropping it 6ft onto tiles at the gym the first week he had it (£70 for new screen!!)

I can’t see how you can get annoyed at people who resell stuff you sell cheap or give away. When you sell it or give it away it is no longer your property, you have given up your rights to it, and therefore you shouldn’t comment on what happens to it later. If you are really bothered about what happens to it either take the time to sell it for a better price or don’t give it away. Imagine if Turner rang you up and said "errr, we don’t want you selling your 5 spot that cheap, it devalues our brand". I’m sure you would quickly tell them you get lost.

Sure, if STW police the classifieds how they see fit that’s ok, they pay for it and can write the rules. But if people are within the rules they set you can’t, and dare I say shouldn’t, complain. I think STW’s view on how they would like the classifieds to work is admirable, but I can’t see it ever being like that with the size it is now.

No-ones going to sell me anything now. :-(

Errrr, move north. Don’t see many planes in Yorkshire. Riding is better. Tea and cake is better. Stuff cheaper. Less southerners. It’s all good. ;-)

I have an iPhone 3g and absolutely love it. I hardly use my PC now at all, only to list stuff for eBay and to do table intensive websites. At first it seems a little simple but as you get used to it and find all the stuff it can do the negatives seem less important (no cut and paste, business cards or picture messaging). I will certainly be having a new one when this contract runs out.

It’s a strange one this. I generally don’t post to forums that much as I just like to read them occasionally. However I do have to sell stuff on and I know STWers will pay quickly and be honest. It does help that I’m not a million miles away from STW towers so a lot of people could pick up.

I like to put things on STW at a reasonable but not silly cheap price as I can’t afford to let them go too cheap. If no-one wants it then it goes on eBay and I normally have a good result, although it’s a lot more long-winded. I have bought one thing silly cheap on eBay thinking I’d use it then when it was delivered realised it wasn’t for me and sold it for a small profit (but still extra cheap to everyone else) on STW.

As long as the seller is honest and the buyer thinks he’s got a good deal does it really matter? You are free to sell your stuff however you like, and if you choose the quicker/less hassle but lower price STW way thats your choice. STW should deal with any obvious mini-trading type people (who will be quickly strung up on the nearest bike stand if I know STW at all ;-)) but other than that I wouldn’t worry.

See this is why I don’t post, it turns into an essay!
