SB, I agree. I am a Christian but I haven’t abandoned logical thinking. In fact, logic brought me to the point where I realized that giving my life to God was something I had to do, the best option. It wasn’t a decsion based on emotion or pursuasion but a simple reaction to facts that had been presented to me. I have a degree in Geography as well as loads of other academic stuidies but I believe in the bible. The two don’t clash to me.

Don’t knock it till you tried it. :-D

I suppose you have to put something up down south, to distract people from the unending flat field boredom. ;-)

Angel if the North is fantastic, absolutely huge and people in that area of the country are proud if it.

Certainly the best thing would be constant vigilance. The “report this post” function does this, if enough people don’t like certain words that have not been banned they can be added to the list of swearwords. Obviously within reason but it should work fine.

Is the banning of people who disguise their swear words done on a regular basis? As I read those disguised words quite often!!

Personally I don’t think any swearing should be allowed, and “disguised” swear words should earn an instant ban. If you can’t put your views accross without swearing then I pity you. There are plenty of words in English without having to resort to swearing, so why make your online persona appear to be a complete fool?

Same here, I use lukewarm water and it clears all the windows with one jug full. Put wipers on and it’s dry so it won’t freeze again.

Very hot water just seems a bit extreme!

Don’t have a TV and start campaigning against the license fee if you don’t want to pay it. Breaking the law intentionally then bragging about it, harping on about how you don’t agree with it just makes you sound like an idiot.

If I broke into your house and nicked your bike(s), then in my defence argued that I didn’t believe that burglary should be classed as a crime, then what would you do?

You sound as bad as all the drivers who complain about getting speeding tickets from GATSO’s.

    Numptys.

A friend of mine tooted in his hand, sucked it into his mouth then went to another friend and blew it in his face. The smell had not lost any of it’s strength. Simply amazing.

Thankfully there were not any ladies present as I doubt they would have found the funny side of it. :-D

Sometimes the smell clings to skin like burst bubblegum. If it’s strong enough to make you think your ass is melting then don’t think the rest of your, or anyone elses in the blast zone, body will come away unscathed. :-)

Was this thread started 2 hours ago e.g. 6.30am, as a result of aforementioned tootage?

Was one of your rumbles in the jungle the start of a heated argument bunnyhop?

If so, we need more detail! :-D

Sq, I think you should keep quiet before you get a solicitor having a chat with you!!

I don’t know how you have kept calm, Mark.

I would like to know what products sq225917 sells, so I can keep well away from them. Obviously they can’t be good enough on their own merit and need bribery and coertion to sell any at all.

Hasn’t anyone ever noticed a bike review which has rated the product as poor, with the manufacturers advert near it? I have, and always wondered why they bothered advertising when the review was unfavourable. Why did they? Because, as Mark says, there is no link between the advertising revenue and the review.

And I can back up his claim about ST being disorganized, their last place was a tip! Great coffee, cheers guys. :-)

I have to agree with Brant I’m afraid. I’ve seen an Alfa SZ near me a couple of years ago. Not to eveyones taste but looks wild in real life, nothing else like it.

One I like is the Jaguar XJ220. Looks amazing in real life, lower and longer than in pictures. More aerospace in some ways.

Micheal B. Good point, I will be avoiding in the future too.

The other issue, I think we need to lay off the people who want to buy this kit. All the XTR stuff filters down into the lower groupsets, so those people who buy the cutting edge stuff do us all a favour eventually. They will always be in a minority as it is all so expensive, and the differences are tiny. But how much does the Deore groupset, which all should admit work amazingly, owe to the XTR buyers over the last few years? I say thanks to all the crazy rich (or heavily in debt) people who ARE prepared to spend £100 on a chainring!!!!!!!

Schwimoid, I see you must be under a lot of stress as the pressure is stopping you stringing a coherant sentence together.

Tip, don’t take the cash unless you have the stock to sell, it’s just bad manners.

I personally think this is taking the mick somewhat, I’d suggest speaking to trading standards.

    What’s that going to do?
They still don’t have to sell you the chainset, it isn’t going to happen. All TS officers do is contact the store, by phone or in person, explain the situation and see how you have acted. The shop will say “sorry we ran out, it’s a stock error” and that’ll be ok. They offered the refund or something else and apologised.
If it realy bothers you that much just go and shop somewhere else, that will hurt them much more (especially the amounts you seem to be spending!!) than a friendly visit from TS’s.

Are you kidding me? £300 for a crankset? Are you mental?

Oh, I am a store manager, and no, if they don’t want to sell you the stuff, I’d just forget it, they won’t have to. They can just say they haven’t got any and it was a mistake. They have offered you a refund straighaway and apologised, so thats pretty good.

Consider it a reprieve from your temporary madness….. :)

We do occasionally get people asking this at my work, and yes it is uneconomical nowadays. The quality of saws used to be a lot better but people just buy on price nowadays.

You CAN still get saws made using the highest quality steel, with oiled hardwood handles which you could sharpen many times, with copper riveted construction. There is a hand tool shop in Bakewell which brought tears to my eyes when I went in. They sold all the best quality stuff, handsaws for £90, a wall full of plastering trowels ranging up to £80. It was heaven!! Go there if you are in the area (good riding too). They had sets of Allen keys which made Park tools look like toddlers toys, how about £65 for a set? Amazing.

All the above is good. Next time if you have a BIN option tick the box which selects “immediate payment required” when someone uses the BIN option. I think you may have to use Paypal to use this option but at least it stops people going for the BIN option when they don’t have the cash.

That does look good but obviously does shrink the size of your room, especially the extra stud wall idea. If your DIY skills aren’t great or if the house is rented then the bookshelf idea obviously would be more attractive.

Second that. Sound proofing stuff is very expensive and may not work as well as a bookcase or other stuff put accross that wall. I believe you can get plaster board which has sound deadening in it but this obviously means ripping the wall down to install it.

Always have a look at the small gaps such as round skirting and architraves. Sound transmits very well through small gaps and holes, using decorators caulk will help if there is a problem, or expanding foam if it’s big.

Large heavy wallhangings seem to be recommended sometimes, although we are not in Tudor times so they are not a common choice nowadays.

20cm of solid wood and paper will obviously be very good when you compare it against the alternatives!!

This is exactly why I try to keep off the main roads and have virtually stopped riding in the dark. I don’t want my wife to be left alone all because the law does not provide even the slightest deterrant.

Another iPhone 3G here, absolutely superb, nothing else came close, the wife and most of her freimds now have them too, they really are that good.

Same here, 2 people at work got same contract as me they were so impressed.
Only advice would be get the 16gig one, you’ll soon fill the 8 gig one, especially if you already have quite a bit on iTunes already.

iPhone is really good, a couple of niggles but nothing you won’t put up with for the sheer amazingness of everything else. For email and web browsing I don’t think it can be beaten. I was going to buy a laptop as I wanted to use a PC in the lounge but I just use my iPhone, it really is that good. Plus you obviously have an iPod touch as well, which is also fantastic.

I keep looking at other peoples phones to make sure I made the right choice and end up wondering why they didn’t get the iPhone. It gets better every day, the more you explore what it can do. 99% of my posts on here are done with it, internet banking, ebay etc etc.

I’d go for it. If you do get more it won’t be much more. The chain looks nasty and will put people off I’m afraid, so many not get as many bids as it could.

I’d go for it, I got less than I was expecting for my 853 Inbred, bikes seem to be going quite cheap.
