“Currently watching a 13″ Myka on Ebay for MrsMC, she’s only 4’10”, should fit her….”

I’ve just bought my wife a 13″ Myka for £75 off eBay. Perfect size as she Is 4’11”.

Her current bike is awesome and I’ll never sell it as they don’t make them in this size anymore:

It’s a 12.5″ GT from 1999, has Marzocchi Marathon forks on it (wonderful forks).

I’m not looking forward to being emotionally blackmailed into this bullshit when mine get to that age.

Actually **** that, the wife can do it.

Wow I’m glad you’re not my dad 8O

I quite like my Apple TV. Good for looking at pics I’ve taken either direct from phone or via iCloud, which is what I bought it for. Red bull tv is good and the Netflix is pretty good.
Would be nice to have an iplayer app but mirroring from iPhone works really well so not a deal at all for me. 4OD works well too in the same way.

Looks like it’s going up the hill towards the moors?? Not ridden it myself, probably a footpath I reckon as I think I’ve done all the bridle ways.

“There was an audi with a big number 1 logo painted on the side, with a carbon bike on the roof at glentress last year. I thought it must be someone off stw but didn’t have the balls to take a picture as the guy was there. I think it was even parked in a special audi space.”

I would have taken a pic anyway!

Insurance companies have no jurisdiction to determine whether a car is suitable for repair or not.

“Thats a Cat C robdob so can go back on the road after a VIC and MOT”

Read the thread. It was a Cat B.

Unfortunately you are wrong. Cat B can go back on the road. Categories are just for insurance purposes only.

Well the RAC don’t know what they are talking about, just repeating the same old misinformation.

Repair, VIC check, MOT, tax, insurance. Legal! Insurance would probably only cover for scrap value of car though.

    Here’s an example: http://retrorides.proboards.com/thread/155617

    Yes they can.

    Sad

So what’s the point of this thread?

Disappointed to see there were no photos of the rear of the landrover to see the “one life, live it sticker”

I saw a VW Van (no idea of the T number I’m afraid, I’m not in the club so I haven’t had the training) with one of those stickers on. Not sure what they are supposed to mean – Must be some hidden meaning in them, maybe if I put one on my Focus I will understand.

    “What a strange thread.”

Its to prove some people don’t read things through properly, and even if they do they don’t get a really really obvious joke. Thanks for supplying some more proof!

I understand you all wanted to see my car. So I took a picture.

I was a bit worried it might not look STW enough so I just did a little photoshop to improve the look of it. I don’t think you’ll notice though.

This one must be a solid 8/10!

Skoda Superb estate, 4×4, Tour De France special edition and big black alloys.

    STW perfection?

What a great life they must lead if this is worthy of a thread “

“With a quick bit of reasonable sounding bollards and a form submission the full details of the registered keeper can be found, which folks now know have shiny bikes in them for the taking”

One of them might be mine…….

They’re probably all registered as company cars anyway, probably registered to “Surrey I.T Consultants Ltd” or something.

Maybe they shouldn’t drive their cars in public then. ;-)

At least BMW make good drivers cars, unlike the Audi front wheel drive rubbish.

I had nothing but amazing service from Virgin in the last few years of being with them. Mega fast BB that never failed once in 5 years, or slowed down. 1TB TiVo box was fast, easy to use and miles better than a Sky HD box I tried.
I had 2 new TiVo boxes during that time replaced FOC – they were fixed next day after I called, once on a Bank Holiday for no extra charge. We are living at a friends house so we had to have it disconnected but even that was painless, got a £15 refund cheque through today.
Our next house has to have Virgin fibre or we won’t be moving there!

I’ve done the Jackson Bridge hill climb – yes me the fat one. I came dead last behind the youths but at least I tried! Got loads of encouragement from the organisers which was really nice.

I’d say get loads of people you know to come and watch, I always reckon that helps loads.

    Bossnut?

Is that really a name for a bike? Really? If they gave it away I wouldn’t have one when the name basically means “head testicle”.

One of my closest friends business is producing videos like the GD ones, but much better!

    http://www.sourcevisualisation.com

The amount of computing power needed to do his sort of construction/fly through videos is a little mental though. Put it this way his office does not need heating even in the depths of winter.

“It’s just a way of making light of stuff in the hope of not causing offence”

The thing is that most of the time there is no way what they said could have caused any offence. I just don’t trust people who do it!
There are some people who are naturally jolly and make light of things and chuckle/laugh a bit, that’s fine. But “I’m just going back to my desk, I’ll speak to you tomorrow AHAHAHAHAHAHA”

    RUN AWAY!

“Where you can afford one of Camerons starter homes if you’re on the living wage”

Completely missing the point. A living wage is meant to be at a level where you can live on, it doesn’t have to be one where you must be getting enough to buy a house.

“I wasn’t referring to his looks actually.”

Why post a pic up then, why not just the link? Looks like back pedalling to me.

I’m somewhere in the middle between right and left, I don’t have any particular views either way, but the attitudes the lefties have with their bitter vitriol and deep chips on their shoulders just puts me off leaning that way. If you could understand what these Tory bashing threads actually read like (through the permanent red mist you guys seem to have) you might understand.

Marc Beaumont – knows a thing or two about touring fast….

    robdob
    Free Member

is that true ? I imaged searched “titanium disc touring frame” in google and it’s over 90% drop bars

Unfortunately the sort of people who post their bikes on the internet tend to have the more fashionable drops, but the pics rarely show then laden up!

Out on the lanes are the normal people who just get on with it rather than talking about the bikes and they mostly use flats…

The CTC beef was with short steep ones e.g. into Lynmouth. No choice but to drag on 25% !

Errr yes there is – brake for a bit then coast for a bit – and that hill is only 25% for a short bit at the bottom anyway. After riding down it with rim brakes I would have sold my ass to have discs instead (I nearly lost it anyway after cooking the rim brake pads so I could actually SMELL them burning!!!).
