I ride a genesis Grapil, which has revs at 140mm also 31.6 seatpost..great bike, use it for everything. can fit a longer shock on the back too if you need to.
however if your set on a rocket, go for it!

Maybe it doesn’t fit you as well as your other bike? changing stem etc can help but sounds like a long bike. Is it just too long for you?

Im about to go to Andorra for the world cup! what are the trails like? Do you think there will be lots open even though the world cup is on?

Id love a Cotic Rocket, and would be great for all that stuff. I think you can build them up 30lbs no probs, and capable on big terrain.

Other than that orange 5,(leftfield choices – BMC trailfox, Morewood Sukuma, Labyrinth agile)?

Yes sometimes, I don’t see what the big problem is to use them occasionally, being cautious and courteous. Some people just like to moan for the sake of it.

[/quote]As to the weight, Santa cruz quote sub 35lb for a V10 for an off the peg customer bike without carbon rims. Add carbon rims, Ti springs, air forks, carbon bars etc. plus any other team issue stuff and its not hard to see how they could loose the extra weight.

Also isnt a stock Mondraker Summum under 36 lbs?

yeah I guess even discounted they cost a fortune. Would be my perfect lightweight bike. Turner burner will be nice though. ;-)

Blur XC carbon? – Santa cruz have removed from their lineup so might be some discounted ones coming up?? Looks lovely to me.

I believe it was scheduled for a summer release (whenever that happens). Pocket rocket would be a great name for it. :P

I have a Genesis Grapil and love it. I wanted a Blur Tr but couldnt justify the extra cost over this. 67.5 head angle, 120mm on the back, mine weighs 28.5 lbs, Low, flies along, likes to jump. the std wheels and tyres weigh a ton!

So having never been to a world cup, is it free to watch? I assume you just pay for the lift? Video looks great.

The spesh purg is lower profile than the clutch sx, hence why I run it on the back, the butcher control is a better bet for something like the clutch. Im really happy with the purg/butcher combo so far. Seem very predictable.

Also used the Mountain king 2, which i liked, nothing like the mark 1 tread, however steer clear of the cheap wire versions, sidewalls are crap. If I were to get another it would be the protection casing.

We have been given a start time of 8.30, can you start earlier than that or have to stick to it? I commute 10ish miles most days, so I think i’ll be ok.

Endura singletracks, mine have been excellent, got them for £30, strong – I wear them 4-5 days a week for commuting and mtb rides and still look brand new, dry quickly, jobs a goodun.

Oh, that sounds pretty crap. might have to try specialized butcher control and purgatorys instead…

So maybe a purg rear, Butcher control Front would be a nice combo?

My two cents, I think you could go two ways, either get a big full sus, which is markedly different from the soul, something like an alpine, rocket, or nomad, big forks up front, and use that for bigger stuff…

Or go for a fairly light, poppy full sus with about 120-140mm travel. I just got a Genesis Grapil, yes new bike syndrome, but I do absolutely love it. Very stiff, 120mm on the rear so feels poppy and responsive, 140mm up front and you can even put a longer stroked shock if you want to take it to the alps…it really flies when you start putting the pedal strokes in. Cotic has a similar idea coming out soon, and theres always a Blur tr, if you can aford it!

Not been a groom but I was best man last august and I think most of the same applies. Whatever you do, don’t leave it till the last minute to write the speech. The more prepared you are and the more you know what you want to say, the better. It will never be delivered exactly like you think it will, but I felt way more comfortable and confident knowing my speech inside out and speaking to a room full of people. Dont worry too much, everyone in the room is behind you. I also used a dictaphone to record my voice, which 1, was proper cringe, but 2 really helpful with timing, it meant I could hear what didn’t work well and how long to make it. Something on paper might feel fine but start reading it out and it soon becomes an epic bore. The groom for the wedding didnt go through his until the night before and it went on for half an hour! Enjoy it, na scrap that, you wont enjoy it, until its over probably, but im sure you will be fine.
