Im 5’9″ on a medium with 50 mm stem and it fits great. The seat tube is abit longer than my old bike and I have to have the reverb slammed all the way in.
I do find the Fox RP2 blows through the travel a bit easily, even with high pressure, anyone switched to a different shock with better results? I’m thinking monarch plus maybe?

A few days? You should be able to drive Calais to Andorra in under 12 hours easily.

Yeah you can but it’s not much fun. If you have time I’d say it’s better to make more of a trip of it. Depends if it’s just about biking or not..

I went for the World Cup last year but didn’t ride as you couldn’t race weekend. Amazing place and the riding looks to be good. We drove through France it was ace. Long old way though so give yourself a few days to get down.

You can re-use the gold sram ones, and been running a 9 speed link on my 10 speed fine. The KMC are re-susable too.

Whats worrying is there are plenty of ‘petrolheads’ that listen to him and think its ok to have the attitude to ‘run down cyclists’. This kind of mentality is really worrying for commuters and road cyclists in general.
There are good cyclists and bad cyclists, same as there are good and bad drivers on the road, but why there has to be this hatred is beyond me. I went to France cycling a while ago and they are almost celebratory of cyclists, passing you with loads of room. They respect you and share the road.

That Kili flyer 122 is what yeti should have done with an asr5.

I cant understand why Yeti ditched the ASR but kept the 575, which is heavier, no carbon rear and only slightly more travel.

Ah, it got you too. I think the terrain and my weight accelerated my failure! I blazed the customer service path for you! What did you go for afterwards? I got a Bandit 26.

    Yeah afraid so.
I got a Yeti ASR5 and very happy with it. Shame about the grapil as I loved it, and it had a lot going for it, the geometry and suspension feel was ace. Was well thought out for Uk riding – good mud clearance, tough finish, etc. The geo and fit were spot on, just a shame it folded like butter.

I really hope Genesis dont give up on Mtbs as I really like the brand and don’t see Saracen in the same light. Saracen seem to be targeting a younger market with their branding etc. There is definitely a place for Genesis making well thought out quirky bikes, in a similar vein to Cotic and I hope next year they expand their range again. I think Saracen need a reality check on their pricing too.

Definitely go to square and compass for a warm pasty and the best views.

Did you break your Grapil? I broke 2.

I broke mine too DaveH, doomed frame unfortunately, although they were very good about it in the end. They tried to get me on a sarcin, but not my bag.

Endura Mtrs are lovely. Slim cut, can still fit my Troy lee kneepads underneath and they look pretty snazzy too.

Failing that you could try a Bluegrass golden Eye, but I sent it back as it was huge!

Ive just got a Bell Stoker – Large and its awesome. Im about 60cm and its wound in on the tighest setting so a large or XL will fit. Really nice helmet, I see it like an updated giro feature – better ventilation.

Its fine to ride up, use the fire road,it a nice social climb not too tough but it does take a lonnng time so will eat into your day. We rode up and only mangaged about 3 or 4 runs the whole day. You can session the top part of the tracks, which is the best bits anyway and get more runs in. Do it, its great!

I have some Rockshox Sektor U-turn forks for sale – 110-150mm. Good condition. 1 1/8″ steerer. £160 delivered? I think they’re good forks, the right spring for your bodyweight is pretty key but I found for the money its a good bet.

Sounds excellent. I think id be doing the same as you in terms of swapping some bits out but it felt great on the descents, very stable.

Dont know the answer to your Q Kimbers but how is that Process working out for you? I demo’d one a few weeks back and loved it but a touch heavy. (shouldnt have demo’d a 25lbs Carbon hei hei just before really). Do you know the weight of your one and anything you’d change on it?

Just been this weekend. Loved it. If you have the uplift booked id say take the DH bike, although there are way more trail bikes than anything else. It would be good if they had an additional uplift van for people paying as they go, we waited ages and gave up and just rode up the fire road every time.
The blues offer lots of flow and you can link up to red lines to keep it interesting. We had a great 2 days there.

    I use a Blue ice warthog http://www.blueice.com/products/en/home/10-warthog-26l.html

Its ace. Made of tough cordura, which has kept everything dry, has 3 external pockets, several places to clip lights to, a helmet holder and can take a bladder if needed. The only negative is the back panel has no channelling on it and is abit minimalist. I believe it has a lifetime warranty too.
