Depends when the last time you ran was. I’d say 15 minutes tops then adding five each session until you get a good session.

Happened to me years ago with some Answer Manitou elastomer sprung forks. With proper springs you stand no chance!

Southbeds – my docs advise staggering the two painkillers so that as one wears off the other is kicking in.

And yes I can’t sleep because my back is killing me!!!!!

Surely if you’re doing two races per week the same the guys will be turning up. Measure yourself against others from the last races…. Did I beat the guy who beat me last time? Was I closer to the guy who beat me last time? Then you’ve got your motivation and some idea of improvement.

Disagree. Does depend who is on. Julian Clarey, Merton, Fry and that newbie yesterday was great as there were actually loads of visual gags. The girls on today were dull though as it felt like Merton wasn’t trying. I’m enjoying them.

Set some validation on the column next time so it only allows values from the list “yes”,”no” then you can’t put in duff values.

Setting the filter on the table should show you. Select somewhere in the table the on the Data tab hit the Filter button. If that doesn’t work you’ll need another column which trims the values…

Why do you have a mobile? Why do you not use it in inappropriate situations like meetings?

It’s partly about learning self control. We have very few issues about phones in our school. Some are confiscated. Often the rest of the class shout down someone whose phone goes off, just like in an ‘adult’ meeting.

Treat them like adults and they behave like adults.

If you only have a short time try the mbswindon trails by the M4.next to the Nationwide offices. Great fun for an hour. 4 or 5 laps will sort you out…

Stop it. If everyone uses them they’ll get to busy and end up like CRC! Keep it quiet.

Jason, 14th is my usual finishing spot in open from last year. Not racing this year due to back problems. I was there in spirit though. Video of elite race

Try a start from Wallingford then take the Ridgeway up to Nuffield. Head towards Checkendon and you’ll find round 1 of the Southernxc series at Hammonds farm to see how fast you need to be to race. Then retrace route.

Maybe pain is making me grumpy. Just had my diazepam and feel better now.

How about a refundable deposit for appointments to encourage people to keep them. People needing repeat appointments for chronic conditions could be exempt like for prescriptions.

Repeated timewasters at A&e could be banned (no that might be harsh and dangerous) or charged for visits.

There must be some way to improve it rather than messing with the whole system like Dave wants to.

bwaarp – now I feel bad being associated with the Daily Mail!

TJ – yes that’s what the clinic was for as a filter but really why do we need filters?

If there really are 50,000 chronic a&e users that is an issue that needs sorting to reduce costs.

The British attitude has changed to rely on the NHS because it’s there and its easy to access.

Ok ok I didn’t ask them all thier problems but the NHS gets hit with a lot of cost from timewasters which nobody seems to be tackling. When you get to the right specialist they are marvellous. My point is we don’t help them. We just expect them to solve everything which slows down things for people who really need it.

Sorry it was specifically an initial assessment clinic that travels around to probably filter out the chaff. Got my MRI referral though so I’m happy.

LloydsTSB online does it. No charge except in the rate used. Next day.

Tell your bank to sort it or you’ll move.

Don’t forget to read the horror stories of getting tyres onto Crest rims. Be prepared.

Merlin build with Arch or Crest I think…

Actually this has just cheered me up hearing about how long everyone else has been suffering – makes mine seem not long. Second the mental boost for a recovery plan. I checked on my go referral from three weeks ago yesterday an found they hadn’t done it. Went to pieces. Today sat with go while referral happened in the room and now have appt in two weeks. Feel loads better. Physio tomorrow will also cheer me up no end.

Mine went 20ish years ago. Months of pain. Mylogram showed two slipped discs. 4 weeks ago I sneeze or something and within an hour can’t move. Still suffering.

Really pissed that I’d lost all that weight and got really fit and bang it still goes.

Less messy but more smelly. Use GT85 instead of soapy water.

+1 for Castelli. Very light and very soft. Just what you want for comfort as long as you don’t crash.

You could choose to send just one. Pick your favourite and send her.

Really just start saving now. Better late than never. At least use the child benefit. We thought of it as school fees and put that away each month. My two daughters will be debt free thank god!

If it really is qualifications holding you back (and it doesn’t sound like you’ve pushed that yet) try doing a reloaded evening class at the local uni or college. It will show you are willing to invest in your learning and a future employer may be willing to top it up with more training and qualifications.

If the trails are smooth they’re great. Teach how not to brake and use your momentum and grip better. Your line choice will improve because it has to. You will be a better all round mtber. IMO

Just be careful. I’m 48. Seven years ago bought a longboard and loved it. Fifth time out trying to foot brake on a gentle hill caught my foot and thought I’d rolled the fall nicely like I used to. Got up to find compound wrist fracture. Ruined holiday to CA booked for that weekend

Wear as much protection as you can. It might not have been cool when you were first skating but now you don’t bounce so well. Be careful…

Hate all painkillers. Codiene and tramadol make me vomit. Coproxamol is the only one I can keep down but gives me headaches. Diazepam is just a relaxant, sleep aid and is ok. But really I just prefer whisky and a hot water bottle for backpain and the drugs get in the way of the whisky!

In a vice around the steerer tube is easy. Doesn’t need much ‘hammering’ anyway. I normally just hold it in my hand on some carpet to protect the lowers.

@zilog I’m actually an ICT teacher with 15 years in industry. I was doing a computer science degree in 1981 but wasn’t getting it until I programmed an rm380z to read temperatures from a pig barn on cassette tape and actually saw the tape machine move. Then it all clicked as I could see what was happening. I’m hope the pi let’s us do that sort of thing but why do we need something else. As poly says the machines they currently use can do all that and there are easier programming environments than python.

I’m more interested in phone apps as are the kids.

And don’t get me started on maths education!!!!!.

Don’t really get it actually. Why not just take the case of an existing PC to see how its connected? All the same bits essentially and easily identifiable. Of course the risk of electrocution could be a problem…
