Check http://www.romp.org for trail condition links as lots are closed once it starts raining. Skeggs and SDF are open all year I think. Or do some road rides along the Peninsula if its shitty. Great coast.

One more question. Post or IS brake mounts?

I quite like the suspense created ny the lack of info and pics. I think its called guerilla marketing! I’ve got a black anodized on order and can’t wait for Friday when I can start getting the rest of the kit. Patience is a virtue…

I raced – only a ten minute ride from my house so couldn’t really miss it.

Course was a bit short and it was very busy – 100+ riders on 5 minute lap course! Wind was biggest issue on the back straights. All rideable and little wood was fun. Still waiting for full results!

Here is a similar one from an XC race. He adds the data with some dashboard software, shncd it the edits down. Definitely adds interest.

The best party I ever did was a Snail Party. Find your snail in the garden. Decorate it with paint. Then race them on a white board with lettuce as incentive and lanes. Video the race as well. Then for tea eat them (well not the garden ones because they need a few days in a bucket to get clean so buy some). Try other nasty stuff to eat as well – pickled eggs caused some sickness and jellied eels would go down well.

No running around but definite boy stuff.

My Volvo XC 70 has done well. Good in snow. 26mpg. Big.

It’s currently sorned on my drive with a dent in the door and needs a new front shock. You can have it for £500…

Another one this morning! I’m running out of bin bags.

Seems they’ve either been breeding or called in reinforcements. Others have suggested BB guns but I think I’d better get an xbox to practice on first as I’ve never even held a gun.

I think I’ve blocked their entry exit point so if they are all now trapped this could go on for some time!

    PS I am a vegetarian!

Ha, just got another. Same trap same place. Dumb or what. Sorry josh no pics. I must say I’m finding this strangely satisfying in an mmwahaha kind of way.

Plenty of parking on the fire roads around there but be prepared for a ride to start and its difficult to get close to register.

The Catacombs is interesting and different. Jardin de Luxembourg to avoid the crowds in the Tuileries. If you can just walk everywhere, and you’ll find loads of interesting stuff. Or try a velib like a Boris bike.

Open has more variety in it, some very fast, some not so. They also do Super Masters and Super Vets which tend to get the really fast guys and hives the ‘normal’ masters and vets more space. Use the first race to get a lap time and as long as you can stay consistent you can work out where you might come in Masters. I’ll see you in Open as its a more comfortable start time!

I was a bit disappointed by the 29er spec. For
£600 more a 2lb lighter Cube carbon 29er can be had. Whytes 29er is also back on my list now.

Are the Canyon carbon 29er due soon or next year?

We had bone dry conditions in Swindon today. So hot the commissaire changed the rules and allowed bottles to be handed to riders! Main problem was the acorns – like riding on marbles.

My tip – if you’re an mtber sprint for the singletrack otherwise you will be held up, if you’re a roadie overtake us on the grass after the woods!

Not surprising only 70 entries so far given the total lack of publicity about this! Looks like a test event before bigger launch next year. Where was this publicised? £35 is steep but would’ve had a go!

I went out there a few years back and although it was’nt quite as bad as the OP’s description, I know where he’s coming from. I managed to crash hard on the second day, riding like a **** and half cut from a 4am finish session on the lash. I broke my nose and eye socket at the top of a mountain. It was decided that I would have to go back to the digs whilst the lads carried on the ride obviously. I was fairly concussed and couldn’t negotiate which brake did what and basically how to get down the mountain to the van. Alan asked if I was ok. I said yes as I am a macho nob and he rode off down the trail. I got to the van after another couple of near misses. Alan opened the door, put his bike in and jumped in. I struggled to lift my bike in on my own as was pretty smashed up but no help from old Al. On the way back to the digs, he basically ignored me. He may well of thought I was just another idiot who’s crashed out, but to show his feelings to a customer? I certainly wont be recommending them to anyone in a hurry. Oh and the state of his bike and kit was laughable. I did enjoy Dave’s company though, who had only just started with them and was learning the trails. Good look with that I thought.

SC need a risk awareness course big time letting a concussed rider continue. (and I’d find new mates as well!)

And the individual time sheet items are unlikely to come under the definition of ‘personal data’ which the DPA relates to. Its not data about you, its data about them working on your account.

Also the DPA only relates to electronic data I believe so handwritten stuff in a ‘file’ is out…

I think they only have to disclose what they’ve registered as well. You can see their registration here… http://www.ico.gov.uk/ESDWebPages/search.asp

All those looking at grass roots series should maybe read this about the FNSS http://www.xcracer.com/viewblogpost.php?blog_id=219

It certainly looks like how to do it – spread the work between lots of clubs (presumably road clubs who also organise cross races in the winter) – thats why there are so many cross races to do.

One group organising a set of races is mental – ask the SMBC crew who do the Ratz Rampage series (4 short course races at same venue) AND the SouthernXC (5 full course races at different venues) – with course prep they are putting in about 20 days work each per year!

Cross is actually a fine way to get started in XC racing for the buzz of chasing people so why not lets all invade the cross races…

Do the hills.as reps. Try to keep same pace for each rep until you need to stop. Then do it again next day with an extra rep. Play some fast tunes to keep your cadence high and soon it will be easy. When you can do 15 to 20 mind then try going faster…

We’ve just got back from camping at Lothianbridge caravan site about seven miles out. On a bus route but parking in the centre as easy and cheap compared to London, Nicholson square mosque car park £10 all day. Glentress and Inners for days out. Great city…but why isn’t Holyrood Park a trail centre?

Yep, double door is fine, the door seems strong enough to hold when open. Only issue is the height as the rack is high so the lights shoe be careful of height restrictions in car parks just like a roof rack.

It is more the impact on you that implies debit cards are bad online. How mcuh pain would you suffer if your current account was closed or cleaned out due to fraud? Loads. With a credit card the pain is delayed and you get warned it is coming so you can sort it out. Having your debit card refused at Tesco checkout is no fun at all.

If you only have a day I’d say hire in the city and ride out across the Golden Gate Bridge then return the bike next day with a really early tour of deserted streets and waterfront.
