I would suggest you find an independent fitter that has a sparky and plumber contacts. Im in the middle of taking a wall down and having a new kitchen fitted. Some of the quotes are mental.
So i have decided to copy the design and buy it from diy kitchens and save £2000!
Get a few of the well known companies in to design it and quote then pick the design u like and send it to diy kitchens to price££

I run 50mm rims all the time on my road bike. I noticed a big difference going from the std wheels. Lighter and quicker. Out of interest what are u buying? After a bit of research I ended up with a pair of carbon speed cycle ones. They have been brilliant and i run them tubeless on 25mm tyres. No need for rim tape either. Think they were the sat ones. Worth a look for the money I wouldnt hesitate to buy another pair.

I had the same problem. I loosened off the clamp and sprayed it with penetrating oil then rode it for a few days. Eventually it loosened off its self. Not hamer or damage involved.

Having raced on the roads in Ireland and the Iom for a few years  I know the attraction. But having decided to give it up after a bad year at the southern 100 Im so glad I did.

As now when I look at my kids I realise what a selfish **** I was.

I love the sport but feel very sad when the next one dies. I really feel for the family.

Ive got both the byways and terrane elwoods the elwoods are much better and cheaper. Lighter and still got a little bit of centre grip without the drag.

Not tried horizons but i did a little experiment with the terrane elwoods. 2 completely different bikes my fast roadie giant propel with 25/23 tyres
Im about 30- 31 kmh average on my work 30 km commute.with my tripster and the 650 47mm elwoods that have a slight tread I was 28kmh. so slower but not a massive amount.

I have these fitted in the light version. Absolute bargain and ive done lots of varied stuff on them. Even 100 milers plus on the road.

Not the v1 but i have recently built a v2 tripster and had a pair of wheels built for it.
I went for stans crest mk3 rims with hope pro 4 hubs. The build from my local was excellent value
    With dt swiss spokes.
Im running 47mm terrane elwoods on it and they are great for a bit of everything.

Lower rolling resistance and less punctures – why not? The only reason why tubeless is less suited to CX is they tend to burp as very low pressures which is why tubulars are still preferred.

    Exactly this
I am set up tubeless on my gravel bike (47mm elwoods)so far so good
my cx bike on the other hand is running tubes just now as the clement tyres i have arnt tubeless compatible. I am currently looking at tubeless but will have to up the pressere a fraction to stop them burping.

Ive just built a tripster with 650 wheels and went for terene Elwoods in the light version.
They were cheap from planet x
And so far have been excellent for both gravel and 100+ road ride
    They are 47mm

The alpkit one looks great. But i think not having a removable hood or collar to store would annoy me on the bike?
Ian which gore jacket are you refering too? I was looking at the gore power jacket but reviews said the collar opening was huge.

    Try your local bike shop?
Ive just specked crest and hope pro 4’s. just waiting on the price but I don’t think there will be much ££ in it. between local hand built and machine built.

Is it just me that reads this and thinks that the op is needing to sort his life out here? It screams one thing to me
    MONEY DOSNT MAKE YOU HAPPY!
Sort your self out make the most of what you have. Down size the rental house etc. Live within your means. I don’t have much. but I have a small mortgage on a small house. an old car. a couple of bikes but I’m happy I have no other dept apart from my mortgage
If I can’t afford to buy it cash I dont simples. Running away for a few years isn’t going to make u happy

Yea like tri bars but I find with tri bars they leave you with very little space for hands on the flat bit of the bar.http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/281588614258?NAV=HOME
Something like this but need it for next week!

Scone Palace might be worth a visit? I say that but having lived in Perth for 30+ years I’ve never been ha ha. Kinnoul is worth a stroll up with the dog just watch it near the cliff edge. A friends dog decided to chase a rabbit over the edge

I live and work in Perth.the tower of kinnoul hill in the pic is the view from my office.
It’s great place for getting into the hills biking etc it’s certainly not a big city! The city centre is poor. Great for cafes and charity shops but not much else but then i suppose that’s the way most cities are going.

Done mine a few years back. Eventually went to A&E they said it was a fracture and stuck me in cast and sent me home, I was in agony overnight
and recieved a phone call from the surgeon telling me they had misdiagnosed my break and it would need surgery to sort, Screwed and wired back together, took me over 3 months to get rid of space boot. Not trying to scare you but as said above you need to do everything you can to heal properly, I’m fine now and have full movement. Surgeon warned me that if I broke it again it would probably end up needing fused.
I also know 2 others that have done it and one of them has a pemanent limp. take it easy and plenty time with the foot up. good luck
