Yup have noticed some folks just trying to make a profit from them now.
If u are on Facebook then follow all your local bike shops as most seem to be posting up when they get stock.
I know velocity 44 in Stirling just got some the other day. Worth a try.. if not then phone around a fee and put your name on the waiting list.

    I’m with Thepilot on this.
My experience with vets is the same. They make up a good portion of their takings from these procedures. We took our 2nd Boston to their puppy classes to socialise and they talked non stop about nueturing to everyone there.
I had my male Boston castrated years ago but I’ve not had my female spayed after wising up to them and doing a bit of reading up on it. We do not plan to breed her btw so it’s not for that reason.
Yes the equipment that the vet has to buy is very expensive but they charge well over the odds for everything and I’m not convinced they always give the best non profit advice.

The seller should not be charging you vat at purchase. You should then have to pay vat and a processing fee upon delivery

Either get your insurance company to sort it or go through the accident management firm.
I have used this route in the past when my insurance company wouldn’t give me a courtesy car untill they had proof I wasn’t at fault.
(you’d think the other driver getting charged with careless driving would have persuaded them of that)
Thee management company will cost the the council’s insurance more but they are more likely to act quickly to get it resolved.

Companies stopping selling to the UK is a load of horse shit. These companies will sell all over the world and be used to dealing with the shipping customs logistics already. We buy loads from the European union and our suppliers are all good to go with whatever is needed. Yes there will be a price to pay for it.

Can I ask why you don’t want to run the dehumidifier? I’ve got one that has a humidity setting so you could just leave it switched on at the setting u want and it will just switch on and off automatically. You could even use the option for it to drain through a hose if you can’t be arsed emptying it.

I’ve got about 6000km on my open up.
Original bottom bracket with no problem. It gets used for everything from fast road rides. Bikepacking and rough gravel. It gets used and abused. Really do like it.
Watched the Hambini review and didn’t like what I heard but then had to tell myself that he seems to have had it in for them since the cervelo days. Not saying the frame is as perfect as it should be for the price but loving mine.

SAW a post on the transcontinental facebook page a while back that someone in Poland had noticed a bike local to him being advertised locally. He reckonised it as one that had been stolen from London a few months before.
Was a high end gravel bike And still had all the ortlieb bikepacking bags fitted.
Police are now warning that they are investigating a lot of house break ins just to get the high value bikes inside. Definitely some well organised gangs out there.

I’ve administered our cycle to work scheme at work for the last few years.
Then used green inituitive commute last year. It’s a breeze and another great thing is you don’t pay the 7% payment to keep the bike. It’s only £1 but after 5 years so if you are buying an expensive bike it makes a massive difference at the end of hire so u save more.

This happened to me this year.
Take pictures and contact the seller saying you want to return the item as not as described. Seller should refund full cost and cover return postage if they want the tyre back.

Its technically your employer not cycle scheme that is hiring you the bike for the next 3 years. I administer the scheme at my workplace and have sold a bike within the 3 years. I’ve had 3 bikes on the scheme. So as long as your employer won’t notice or dosnt care then it won’t matter.
Also now the 1k limit has been lifted green inituitive commute only charge £1
At the end of the first year instead of the 7%? I think cycle scheme charges. But it’s hired for 5 years not 3.
But makes a huge difference if you are getting a 5k bike

Tried that site with the Hikevision but need to be accepted for an account first to get prices.
Hopefully Ton will see this and get in touch if he still supplies them?

    Good job on reporting it.
Myself and a friend were buzzed very closely at about 50 mph on a fast stretch of road by a stagecoach bus a couple of years back. I was absolutely fuming and then realised he would be held up at the next village. So set off in pursuit. Filtered through the traffic and then came up on a police van so asked the 2 police women to have a polite word instead of me loosing it with him.
They pulled him over with blues and gave him a bollocking in front of all the passengers. Hopefully shamed into not doing it again.

4 sets of wheels for the same bike.
3 Different cassettes. I just keep an eye on chain wear and change before it’s at max. Just cheap sram chains £12 a pop. Takes minutes to change wheels and align calipers.

    I’m in Perth.
A fair bit of riding from the door and easy access to the big hills and the North. If I was going to pick somewhere else to live it would be Dunkeld. It’s only 25 mins up the road from Perth and has lots of natural trails. But might be a bit quiet for someone your age?

    MTB
It’s a hollowtech 2 bottom bracket. Everything I have read says 2 spacers on drive side and 1 on non drive.
But this is a triple chainset so thought it might be different?
    It’s a truativ crank

    Just done this.
    15mm axle adapters
Mt zoom boost front hub kit £9.99
No redishing and I just put a wrap of black electrical tape to hold the spacers when axle removed.
Didn’t want the hassle of redishing in case I wanted to use the wheel on another bike.

Guy I sit next to at work had a Merc estate hybrid for 3 years as a company car. Hated it. When he first got it the battery range was 25 miles from fully charged. When he handed it back after 3 years the range was down to 13 miles.
And he reckoned it cost far more on long journeys as had to carry the weight of the batteries around. Just a tax dodge really.

Once my cheque clears from my long lost uncle’s will from Nigeria I’m gonna stick an offer in!

In all seriousness do these estates actually pay for the upkeep or make any profit from the various activities they offer or are they a seriously expensive hobby?

Don’t bother with any standard surveys.

Pay an electrician to check electrics.

Pay a engineer to check the heating system.

Pay a builder for an over-view and if a structural engineer would be worth a visit.

    Consider a drain survey.

Any damp survey WILL find damp (even in a new house). Use it to knock the price and take a view on if you do the work afterwards.

Dogbone is bang on with this.
I found a collapsed drain, old wiring and condensation problems with my house after moving in. The home report found none of it and took no responsibility. Luckily it was easily sorted when I was having other work done but still cost me an extra 3k

Problem these days is the drivers are not taking a signature. So there is a possibility that driver signed it himself? Hence why eBay say it’s been delivered.

Loosen clamp, spray some releasing fluid around area then ride the bike, Your body weight should eventually push the post down. That’s what I did and worked after a few rides.

    All good points.
I’m not generally bothered about vehicles tbh I just see them as a tool.
I used to race motorbikes and frequently destroyed my own or one I’d borrowed🙄 the van would be well insured and deposits taken etc. It seems the slightly bigger one is the one to go for with the luxury toilet and shower!

Thanks I actually have a lwb t4 camper with pop top just now. I’m thinking about upgrading for myself and have given some serious thought into renting it out properly. Prices are crazy for a new t5/6 with conversion and priced not that far off a 4/6 berth swift motorhome so just wanted opinions as to which would be more rentable really.

Advertised a transit I didn’t need anymore. Lad turns up from 30 miles away has a look starts uming and ahhing gives me a low offer. I say no thanks he ups his offer I say sorry mate can’t let it go for that price he then tells me he can get one local to him thats minted and better than mine for the same price plus the seller will give him £100 back for luck!
I say that’s great. lock the van as he’s talking and say well why don’t u go and get it and walk away back into the house. He drives off and 5 mins later I get a txt message calling me a knob and that my vans a piece of shite not worth scrap money🤣 o how I pissed myself with laughter.
Sold the van the next day for just below asking price!
    Some people are just dicks
