    I suppose what i am saying is that on social rides thats what i want – social, not some testosterone fuelled race/slog fest. But also i don’t want negative “oooh i can’t do that” riders undermining my confidence. Moon on a stick?

    I suppose I like to be in a situation where the fast guys go on ahead and do not make a point of being first all the time. When you are spinning up a hill and one of the group starts being all Bradley wiggins I can’t be arsed with the testosterone. It’s meant to be fun not a full on race.

    I have never had the sticky cords fail. The weldite ones mushroom from the back so can’t come out. They are a permanent solution not a temporary fix if done properly.

    Its the same technique as used for cars and quad bikes etc.

    Oh and superglue – why it has zro flex/stretch

    what do you need to know chris? As long as you have a philips screw driver to remove the plugs from the shifters, some sharp cable cutters, and a 5ml allen key you are away. Do you have a fair amount of common sense? if so no issues ;)
