you should know from doing 12 hour and 6 hour solo rides already….

if not, good luck to ya, and eat lots of simple digestible carbs, with intermittent protien/carb bars.
when i say lots i mean lots , every hour.

dont forget electrolytes if not already in your food/carb mix.

sigh, so many sad stories about pets yet we still love em and get new ones…

final trip to the vets today, all questions answered, best course of action is drugs/pain meds and waiting… so thats what we’ll do, spoil him with mince and fish and strokes and sleeping on the bed.

my humble thanks to you all

    thanks once again all.
my heart goes out to all those who have been through this themselves…

blood tests came back all clear, so the option is go for the op and see if we can get it out, or leave him asleep on the table. or , pain meds and leave things to take their course of action.

i’d like to go for the op, but the half wants the second option….
we dont really need to decide till monday i guess.

some kind of plot twist that means the later Lucas written 3 films actually exist in some timeline that is not really star wars, and then they get remade into something decent….

I’m same height as you, thanks for the offer though, cherry red sounds nice.
    enigma’s look pretty sweet too.

stupid question coming up for a wierdo commuter setup thought:

(old/new) 1×7 steel, with one of those roady thumb shifter on the handlebars (i seen them somewhere, sjs or something.)

    anyone done this???

this thread is nicer than a croissant dunked in real hot chocolate.

this thread is getting me seriously thinking about a steel commuter – best place to buy a used steel frame. ebay seems limited…

pearl izumi, PRO softshell, bloody lovely. not for -ve temps though unless you wear a think merino, otherwise great waterproofness and breathability.

if we were previous beings , souls, or thoughts that become physical, or higher entities that visit in bodies, then why dont we remember. there is no real reason why we shouldnt , so the only conclusion i make IMHO is that this is our 1 and only chance, and evolution has given us a sense of self, but there is nothing beyond, before, after that.

    re: Senna

to be honest Modern F1 would be a different place, as a lot of the issues from Modern F1 came directly from his death, so if he had been around, it would be different.

I also believe that even if Senna had left the driving seat, he would still have been in F1 and perhaps steered it towards a different direction.
It was certainly interesting to see him mellow a little in the latter years of his driving career and work more pro-actively in driver safety (considering what he’d done to Prost and his more youthful attitude of go-for-broke regardless of cost…) and would certainly have been very interesting to see how he could have influenced the sport as an ex-driver. i wonder if he would have been where Todt is today?

As for Senna and the Team Order – he would not have been in that position because the entire Team would have been built around him and he would have been about 32 seconds ahead of Webber from the first few laps in the mixed conditions (yeah i remember DONNINGTON too, probably the greatest drive i ever saw) :-)

nice clip. when schumi did it he was a c***, but senna gets movies made of him and everyone admires him – hmmmmm

re: Mercedes, you have no idea how high Hamilton went on the engine mapping side, in the middle of the race to get track position, only to get penalised for it later, so why penalise Rosberg? a simple instruction for hamilton to move aside in the DRS zone could have seen Rosberg challenging for 2nd. BRAWN has always stated “we are here to race” yet in actual fact today he went for a PR stunt and wanted the new/old sponsors to see a new face on the podium and justify the vast amounts of money they spent to get him.

as for vettel, he clearly weighed up the consequence of disobeying a team order ‘v’ the extra championship points and took the points, knowing there is nothing the team will do.
I think Webber is a good driver on his odd day he has, but not the best, and is a bit of a Rubens. he knows the team, knows vettel, knows the power and backing Vettel has in that team, and so he will throw his toys out of the pram and continue as normal, as vettels b**ch.

my 2p experience. set of clinchers on novatech hubs sapim spokes, 1250g the set.
generally for the price they are excellent
    issues:
    – the rear hub drags a little on free wheeling,
    – i had to replace 1 spoke that after about 400K let go in dramatic fashion, since then its been fine and no probs.

    – the front does have some deflection on hard out climbing.

considering what you can get new for that price from your lbs/uk online, i have not had any regrets.

i like the film, but there is one point i dont get, why did they send the only scientist who knows bout the bomb and how to detonate it to fix the shieldy bit that broke along with the captain, also a very important part of the film. shouldnt 2 others have gone?

actually take what steve_austin said a bit further, imagine going to see the FA cup final with 5 of your mates and the cost involved in not only tickets but travel and perhaps accommodation, compared to “all round at mine” and streaming it for a tenner………..
of course that doesnt take into account the purchase of the laptop, broadband and cables to the tv, and of course, the tv,
but then again, it also doesnt include the cost of clothes and shoes to wear to the game if you went for seeing it in the flesh…unless of course you didnt buy clothes and shoes, but then in that scenario you would have to include the cost of bail from being arrested for lewd conduct.

i dont work for sky, sorry, it was just to inform the press release, no advertisement or anything subversive, i didnt have the link to hand.

i simply wanted opinion on what sky was offering,

personally i think its far too much, but from there POV for a 1 off event that people may want to see, they have cleverly covered there bases.
i am thinking specifically of F1 at the end of the season when bbc are not showing live coverage, or perhaps footy etc.

because im basing my opinion on a real life comment he made, in the context that he actually made it, rather than a Gender or Age based discrimination that he was making.

why say it at all, its a pointless statement that helps neither women or kids get into the sport and enforces the viewpoint that its male dominated…
    Really?

Perhaps if the camera crew gave him an hour or so to prepare a statement he’d have said something different

I got a camera shoved in my face at one point and I thought of loads of cool witty stuff to say …just after the cameragirl walked away.

that makes it all the worse, thats his REAL reaction then and not some made up PR thing, so deep down he actual thinks those things. i restate. tosser.

ah yes, the dreams of an F1 without limits (except of course for driver safety).

I read somewhere that a gas-turbine type engine would have come to the fore , except for regs imposed.
