The lad did great you wouldn’t have known he was the new boy and more importantly he was double happy on the journey home.

But

On the basis there were 4 coaches for about 14 lads there wasn’t much actual “training” going on. I’m sure he got something out of training/playing with the other lads but there didn’t seem to be much direction from the coachs other than the setting up a of the drills/conditioned games.

Oh and something else I’m aware of is they dont give two hoots on the “team” results…. they are only interested in individual performances.

Can the boy dribble and beat the man in front of him …. passing can be taught later !!

As you said yourself, I’m under no illusion the boys are commodities and not much more. They are looking to get one boy to sell for half a million quid.

I spoke to the lad this morning and told him, he might be there for 6 weeks, 6 months or 6 years but at some point they will probably ask him to leave…. So lets enjoy it for what it is…. a great opportunity to get better at something you enjoy.

You shouldn’t need to do this. A decent broker will find you a deal with a bank that will just give you the money.

I did last year … Have always sorted mortgages myself but previous place were being silly (hed been with them for 10+ years, extra money I was asking for was well below 60% LTV) so employed a broker….. job done, super easy.

Got great advice form here 10+ years ago when I started.

You are aerobically fit from cycling but your joints aren’t !! Your cardiovascular system can do more work than maybe your body can take.

I didn’t go over 5/6kish for probably 3 months and it served me very well, did a marathon pretty easily later that year.

Stop/starting is great, walk the stops …. I still do that now if Im not feeling it… just enjoy your surroundings.

Be careful …. You may end up ditching the bike !! I certainly have with the MTB. It’s just too much faff compared to throwing your trainers on and getting out the door

Getting an Aussie Labradoodle I wanted Cobber or Shelia…. but after much discussion around the diner table, many times, our 13 year old daughter came up with Oakley which stuck a chord with all of us.

Been out a couple of times on the Lidl Special … really good.

Was out with a pal on a £500 worth of Aqua Planet really sure there was much difference, although the Aqua Planet did have “quick release” fins (all three) they are handy compared to the Mistral’s.

Another thing that is a small let down on the Mistral is the paddle it’s very basic, fine but basic. Anyone upgraded their paddle ? Any recommendations please ?

That’s one of those investment truisms that don’t stand up to scrutiny. When you buy you should be making a risk decision based on the factors that make it a good investment versus the risks that may make it a bad investment. If one of those risks manifests itself then it may be time to dump the investment. You will of course have a portfolio of investments so that the same risk doesn’t hit them all and overall you’re quids in.
