I nearly over complicated it when originally buying a roof box and bars …. and could have spent $$$.

But I picked up a 2nd/3rd/4th hand ?? roof box off FB market place for 50 quid and new generics aero bars from ebay for 30 maybe.

They do the job great for the half a dozen times I’ve needed them.

Box stays out in the garden tucked behind a bush when not in use.

I SAW CAV THIS MORNING !!

I drove past him, me in my convertible, him fully kitted up on his bike.

Gave him a good “Toot” “TooT”…….. “TooooooT” and shouted “GO CAV” … or something like that.

I turned the car around to catch him up, to wish him good luck, but it was just before a four way junction and I picked the wrong one….. damn.

Man oh Man I hope he gets his win.

Remember the salty sea water, you normally swim in, aids to buoyancy. While the fresh water lake will be “fresh” when you swallow some.

If you’ve not done a mass swim start before, be prepared for some “Biff ” !! I enjoy it, it’s good fun (but remember rule No1)

My lad was voted Brentwood RFC U12s Player’s Player at the weekend :)

I’m more pleased than he is. I think I’d have retired if ever voted that! That but he just shrugged his shoulders and gave a cheeky smile.

After a frustrating football season, he has been playing rugby like he’s on mission to prove something to himself. It’s been an absolute joy watching him expressing and enjoying himself.

I could wax lyrical about his running or passing/defender fixing or kicking or tackling or awareness. But it is best summed up by…. You know when you are playing with someone good and they seem to have all the time in the world to play their game, that’s what he has got at the moment.

It’s blooming brilliant !

Anyway, sorry again for the proud dad nonsense. But it is good to remember rugby is bloody ace at grass roots, away from all the politics and financial malarkey in the pro game.

So you are right to look for smaller daily things that are NOT (edit) “far” off in the future.

I’ve very much enjoyed practicing, Gratitude.

And I really mean that as a practice or exercise (daily, hourly, whenever you feel like it) Practice being Grateful.

You’ve said you haven’t anything to MOAN about, take that one step further….. be Grateful for them, let them fill you with happiness and joy.

But it doesn’t have to be “big” things like wife, kids, dog, warm/dry house … it can and maybe should be the small things … bird song, warm socks, nice cuppa….. As you enjoy them, have gratitude for them.
