You are too “vertical” in the water making your hydrodynamics horrible.

Get horizontal … bum/legs up, chest down …. and be all streamlined and dolphin like

    Have fun

Finished it off last night, it’s really very good.

I didn’t find it as harrowing as The Road, because I wasn’t as emotional attached, due to its doc style. But I like the way it visualises the fact we’d bomb ourselves back to the dark ages. That hasn’t really struck me before in other productions. In other films its always a post apocalyptic future … which is a “future” non the less !?!

The scene I really liked was where she barters for food (no spoiler), it’s done in amongst the rubble of the town but in front of a pristine billboard for Standard Life…. So have we insured that this will happen or that it will not ??

Never seen it before but know of it, watched til about 1130 then taped the rest to finish tonight.

Loved all the early 80’s visuals …. A lady call Marjorie, Mothercare, a new escort Mkiii …. smoking !! lol …. Don’t worry it’s Armageddon out there, there are no fags left.

The Amis quote above strikes a chord… I was thinking of the couple behind the doors against the wall and him “caring” for his wife… it crossed my mind he should have topped her off??

Looking forward (weird) to watching the rest tonight.

As a child your parents are heroes, as a teenager a disappointment, as an adult you understand them and as someone who is wise…. you forgive them.

But you can use that Cod philosophy now

    Be kind on yourself.

Our kids know we don’t ask them to be perfect. The trade off is, they are also aware that we aren’t either.

We all going to make mistake …. I’m just trying to make sure I’m not making the same mistakes my parents did ??

The Andor awakens or Return of the Andor

    Thread res….

I’m maybe 6 episodes in and really liking it…. star wars for grown ups and all that.

But I’m thinking I should watch some of the other “lesser” series first and then come back to Andor knowing its good.

So which others should I watch? And what is your order worst to best ??

Oh and I havent seen Solo yet. So please throw that film into your series list.

Decathlon ones…. With a nice bit of fleece on the inside of the thighs

A bit like the ones suggested above but with a more “everyday” look.

35 quid … I’ve got both colours, and wash them as infrequently as possible.

They have articulated knees and make me feel I’m about to go out snowboarding rather than walking the mutt …. and though I like walking the mutt I luvvvvv snowboarding :)

Im with NickJB … what suits the the room, including any “natural” walk ways…. I have a small cut against a wall (you don’t really notice it) but the joints in the doorway are symmetrical and you’d defo notice them more if they were “off”.

Whatever you do take your time planning it (and you are, so that’s good) maybe even drawing out each tile with a marker. You’ll be glad that you did.

    Have fun

I like a bit of Greek meth me and I’m enjoying the contempory adaption.

I  guess that was done to make it more accessible, but Im not sure it will hit its mark. I’d like to watch it with the wife too but I know she’s not enjoy it.

As good as some of the charters are, they are too “comic book” to have any empathy for.

I’m 2 or 3 episodes in, so I’m hoping that will change.

Daltrey said it best, “the kids are alright”

We’re the dicks, messed up by our own parents.

I’m just trying to make sure, the inevitable mistakes I make with my kids are different than the ones my parents made with me.

The lake is so clear and calm in august that after I pushed my wife off our paddle board, I found her “lost to the bottom” sunglasses.

    Enjoy

I reckon you’ve created your own luck Weeksy .

Well played for investing the effort and time into pretty the most important undertaking anyone could engage in.

Sounds to me like its the adults acting like kids that are the issue.

In years to come you will look back on your holiday snaps and wish you were back there with your kids… all young, innocent, cheeky and beautiful.

It’s really a wonderful time for enjoy them, but not necessarily for relaxing…. which is probably what you might have thought you’d do on hols …. silly boy.

    Be cool.

    Enjoy.

If you can think “foreign agents” are spreading disinformation on X and else where.

It’s not that far a stretch of the imagination to think “foreign agents” are blackmail the world richest man by hacking his own account…. spreading their own agenda and having Musk fund their activities

All Tin hat stuff….. but would make a good movie.

I tried getting into yoga/stretching/flexibility for years but was struggling, maybe much like yourself, until I picked an easy youtube routine and just keep repeating that same routine.

Guess I did it 20 odd times and it got me over the “stress” of flowing the instructions and getting into the next position. In this way I could concentrate on the actual stretching and enjoy it. I did similar with other routines (although after that first routine I found other routines easier to get familiar with) and now just do my own thing for 10mins almost every morning…. I always feel better after that tens mins than before it.

Something else that has helped massively was realising it really is NOT a competition. It’s not a competition with anyone else or indeed yourself….  Breath, relax your face and be kind to yourself.

    Enjoy.

Oh don’t forget to add some balance work into your routine, that’s important too for later life.

Well as it was a topic of conversation last week.

I made my debut at the local open mic night a few nights ago….. I was shocking and cleared the pub !! lol

Well maybe not that bad but the first song wasn’t great, guess l got better as I went very very quickly along lol

Loads learnt and I enjoyed it (including the run up to it, had been practicing my 4 songs pretty hard all week)

Going forward I’m going to dial the guitar difficulty back and do “boring” 3/4 open chord songs, so that I can concentrate on the “singing/performance”. Then once I don’t feel like a rabbit in the headlights, I’ll revisit songs that I really want to do.

How about when a few doors down move in with a childcaring business.

0730ish til 1800ish is all day noise when the weather is good.

If it was ANY other industry, I doubt it would be allowed.

Put it in at previous home, didn’t this time…. (well I have in bathrooms, but it never goes on)

    Reason being….  it’s kinda too good !!

On the basis that, when you move into a room that doesn’t have it, that room feels cold even though the CH is on fully.

Haven’t missed UF in the new home, pleased with my choice.

Coldplay effortlessly pleasing the masses … me included  (staged making up of ditties about crowd plants not with standing)

IDLES …. Inspired me to listen to their new album yesterday, cant remember the last time I ever listened to a full album !!  It was good, I like the direction they are headed but hope they don’t sell out.

    Fontaines… agreed

PJ … she’s still got it

    Soft Play .. for sh1t5 n giggles.

When you say King Charles didnt die …. maybe a little bit of him did, if he saw Idles set.

As for Eavis, he didn’t look to happy to be wheeled out for Coldplay propaganda.
