Yeah it’s the pro I’m looking at. £560 for a brand new 140mm fork compared to a set of £700 pikes, very tempted. Got a set of Rekons on at the minute and I’m not a fan!

Yeah its a great bike, very happy i got it in the end! There isn’t alot of choice for tyres but the nobby nic and RR have been great so far for me, kept the chronicles as ive just ordered a set of hope 35ws so ill stick them on the old wheels when the hopes arrive.

Mountainman – I’ve just bought myself a Loki after a year and a bit away from riding bikes. Absolutely love it. I’m usually a medium but went for a large and the bike handles great, ploughs through anything and grips really well, very impressed with it! Changed the tyres to nobby nic front and rocket ron rear, and set them up tubeless – Saves just under a kilo and the standard tyres are useless in the scottish border at this time of year.

Yes mate had mine a year now, upgraded a few things on it, but I love it. Handles amazingly and will cope with anything you can throw at it. Little bit heavy but I love it

I left my previous job this month, I used to sell the Volkwagen commercial vehicles.
Definitely wouldn’t recommend an SDI, all the ex British gas vans had a limiter in the accelerator pedal with a special harness, and they were horribly slow to drive and generally weren’t looked after at all. however the Tdi’s aslong as they’ve been serviced and had a Cambelt changed every 60k ish, they should last forever.

Doesn’t say a price, but it’s got hope f20 pedals, Thomson stem, monkey lite bar, hope brakes, lizard skin grips.

Have you found that your fitness has improved on the mountain bike?

I work for a Volkswagen dealership, however I actually sell the vans.
The UP is a brilliant little car, i couldn’t believe how much room there is indeed, aswell as being insurance group one, it will also hold it’s money alot better than the Skoda version, even though they are the same car. We do sell alot of them, and they are actually alot of fun to drive.

Thanks for the advice, I have googled them obviously but I was hoping someone with some good past experience would be able to give me some feedback of a company they used.

I’m very lucky, I live near Carlisle and I have two awesome shops I use, BikeSeven (just been featured on the homepage) and Palace Cycles in carlisle city centre. Both amazing bike shops, always do way more than expected, very lucky to have such good bike shops so close to myself! Don’t know if Levi from BikeSeven or Rob from Palace cycles use this forum but they are both top guys!

Thanks mate, yeah it just gets used for the 7stanes stuff and probably whinlatter when I get time! Definitely need some lock on grips as the standard rubbish ones nearly threw me off today.. It runs really nice, doesn’t have much grip in the mud though so might change the tyres until everything drys out!

I used to be a parts man for VW until I moved into sales, you’ll need a cable with the following part number.

Shocking eh? Shouldn’t be allowed to drive at that age in my opinion!

Might sound biased as i work for VW Vans, but the extended warranty is actually pretty good, aslong as you use genuine service parts and keep the invoice to prove you have, you can get it serviced anywhere, aslong as genuine parts are used, and they aren’t badly priced.
If you do have an issue, a swift conversation with a manager usually gets you anything you want as we have to keep the customer happy by doing anything we can.

I work for VW selling vans so I have the luxury of a Caddy van for my company vehicle, bike fits perfect in the back with plenty of room still left for everything else, it’s also carpet lined in the back so its just like driving a Golf, also getting 50mpg, perfect!
