I loved but I am kid of the 80s and I don’t really watch TV so have nothing really to compare it to but the wife watches loads and she rated it. Soundtrack is brilliant – vinyl copy on its way to me at the end of September.

I buy from Juno, Norman Records and Resident in Brighton online. Also have Hot Salvation in Folkestone. Just go for who has it cheapest/limited editions.

I started listening again because I was just losing track of what I had been listening to and wanted some kind of collection of the best things that I was hearing on Spotify etc. Try to limit myself to 4 albums a month although not always easy…

Retro83 – I guess it is more what actually happens to the sound. How do they get a “more pleasing” dynamic range etc?

Yes, but what does that extra money get.

This is not a troll – I know it sounds better but why? (Apart from better components etc). How do they actually make it sound better?

Agree about the stereo speaker issue – have just gone back to that after only using a Sonos Play 1 for a while…

I’ve just got hold of a Gramafon and use it with Spotify premium through my Hi-Fi. Excellent, not sure I would ever buy a CD again – vinyl on the other hand….

As above take two days to get there but one long slog back.

If you just want to get going on your journey it is a lot better – we only live half an hour away but we get kids in car in pjs and then on the train they get changed and we have breakfast and by the time that is done it is time to get of, no hanging around. But I can imagine that if you had a long drive home afterwards you might want to relax on the ferry.

But as all travel delays are not unknown but they do try and get you on the next available train and if early you can often get on the earlier train. Plus no chance of sea sickness.

Yeah I measured at 155mm – tbh I think it is more a chaffing issue

Just watched it for the second time and I can confirm that it is ace. I was not so overwhelmed emotionally and picked up a lot more of the plot dialouge. Still not convinced by Smoke

Agree with the Mortal Engines and Fever Crumb trilogy’s by Phillip Reeve.

Anything by S. F. Said (Varjak Paw, Pheonix).

Kenneth Oppel stuff is pretty good (Airbourne trilogy).

Phillip Pullman stuff is good – perhaps some of his smaller novels before Northern Lights

I’ll try just water next time. I think it may IBS related. Usually have a bowl of cereal about 10-15 minutes before I head out – time to stop this?

I was always told that for rides over an hour use an energy drink

    Hi,

It has been six months now and I am still suffering with this (although not as often) – I seem to get it with water, with TORQ energy drink. The one constant is a banana but I eat these on a daily basis without the trapped wind – anyone know of any reason not to eat a banana when exercising?

    Cheers

Got a sparky round – oven out of commision. He is going to run a new cooker circuit as it looks like it has never been wired properly (as evidenced by melting plug socket) thanks to all those that helped, particularly rwamartin who took time out to send a detailed email

    Thanks all,

    big fat power cord.

    Gas hobs, electric ovens.

The only reason I am concerned is that when I took the plug out there were scorch marks around the right had side pin.

It would appear to only have one cable in it so it seems it is a spur – there is another socket on the other side of the cooker which is also connected to the oven socket.

It is a range cooker with two ovens/grills and gas hobs
