Mitchums. You only need to put it on once every 6 weeks or something like that and it doesn’t smell of much. Really works, too. It’s a bit like covering your pits with PVA.
I demoed one at Glentress last month. I’m generally not an Orange fan, but it’s a cracking bike. An adjustable fork would help it to go uphill as it’s a bit choppery, but it pedals really well and I reckon it was probably as good on the climbs as my Meta 5. It’s great fun downhill, very fast and confidence inspiring. I’m seriously considering getting one if I ever have any money ever again (which seems unlikely).
Oh oh, I rode a Spicy and a Froggy too. Bit meh to be honest, although I appreciate I am very much in the minority with that opinion. Then again, lots of people like the last Kings of Leon album and they are all completely wrong.
Second the Remedy. I rode a demo one last weekend and for 2 grand, it’s as good a bike as I’ve ridden. It climbs in a perfectly acceptable manner and descends faster than can possibly be sensible.
Not ridden the Yeti, but tried a Remedy at the GT demo day on Sunday. It’s a fantastic bike, really fast and vastly more capable than I’m ever likely to be. Looks like pretty good value, too.
I really liked the look of the Shedfire/Tweak/whatever it’s called this week, right up to the point where I saw the 23″ top tube. I’m a bit of a shortarse and it’s just going to be too long in common with almost every other hardtail I’ve looked at. The smalls almost seem to be aimed at taller folks who want it a bit more compact than us of a vertically challenged disposition. Guess it’ll have to be a small P7, then.
I reckon you’re probably worrying about nothing. I’ve lived here for most of my 36 years and I saw more trouble in the 4 years I was in Cambridge than I ever have in Glasgow.
For yoga you could try the Glasgow Buddist centre http://www.glasgowbuddhistcentre.com, http://www.chiyogacentre.com/, or indeed any of the other dozen or so that Google throws up. For martial arts, have a look at http://www.krauses.i12.com/home.htm.
It’s a great place to live with nightlife to suit almost any taste, there’s decent trails within easy riding distance at Mugdock park, you can drive to any of the 7 Stanes in a couple of hours and it’s not as pricey as Edinburgh.
