Thats a great help – thanks.
One query though – isn’t the Deore 525 a quick release hub?
My Trek has a through axle.

Thanks for that. I was kinda hoping someone on here with a Trek fuel had replaced a freehub body.
I also hoped that a standard Shimano 10 speed freehub body would be compatible?
I think i hope for too much :-)

Another vote for the Nukeproof Electrons here, especially since they changed the design about a year ago, they now have a concave feel towards the centre – which is much nicer than feeling the axle through your foot like you could on the older Electrons.
I also love Moove thru pin pedals, usually around £40 from their website – a small Irish company made up of fellow MTB riders.

I bought a 2nd hand (but almost new) Boardman HT Pro off Ebay and the bottom bracket went within 6 months. I took it to my LBS and he said try giving Halfords a whirl as they had sole selling rights for Boardmans.
I took it down to Halfords reluctantly as i doubted they would help, but they replaced the BB without question.
I was on a roll now!
Over 18 months they replaced the freehub (twice) and then the BB again.
So Halfords have been brilliant considering i didn’t even buy the bike from them!

No you can’t achieve the same with wider tyres, tubeless and less pressure in your tyres -just buy a Reverb and stop faffing about.

Rub with T-Cut, polish off then use car wax + buff to it’s former glory.
    Job done.

A Physio treated me for patella tendonitis for a while, till it was discovered that i was actually suffering from gout!
It’s a lot more manageable now – i just pop a pill or 2 when i feel it coming on and it’s gone pretty quick.
