Faith Evans on Puff Daddys “I’ll be missing you”

Over 20 years ago now since the songs release, jeez where does the time go?

I like my walking boots to be waterproof and comfortable.

Decathlon usually fits the bill and  a reasonable price to boot (see what i did there?)

Check it’s value against other similar vehicles on the  auto trader website?

Get a mechanic to give it the once over?

I used an e cig to stop smoking around 7 years ago and i still use them now.

I once did a lung function test at my docs when i was in my 30’s when i thought i was fit,but i smoked and had done since my early teens – the results were poor.

I did another test last year in my late 50’s and the Doctor said  the results were fantastic and i had the lung power of a 30 year old non smoker.

He did also point out that having good lung function doesn’t necessarily mean you’re not going to get something horrible!

As an aside,i like to try and be discreet whilst using my e-cig, i can’t be doing with those people who have an uber stealth model e-cig powered by a car battery and who seem to delight in pluming massive clouds everywhere – even indoors!

Any finance on the van could have been settled long ago.In my experience it’s usually the HPi companies who are the last to be informed!!

Contact the finance company to be sure.

We use Fiery Jack in’t North.
Just a healthy lump smeared all over your scrote + P.E bag.
Makes you pedal so quick, you forget the pain. :D

I’ve got an old Boardy HT Pro 26″ and a Scott Genius Carbon 150/150 FS 26″
It always seems to be the FS that i reach for.
I wouldn’t sell either of them.
I doubt whether i would get much money for the pair of them these days because 26″ just isn’t trendy anymore.

For those on a budget, Decathlon snow boots work well on the bike with flats – very waterproof, but if the water goes over the top of the boots then obvs you’re gonna get wet feet.
I think sealskinz are over rated and don’t really work, they are a bit crude and boil in the bag imo.

Love North Wales i do,i just don’t think i could live there.

The USE shim i’m using is 100mm long,i would have liked longer really – as the reverb obviously finishes below the shim.
I might have a look for a Syntace one – or try and get a 34.9 Reverb asap, although they seem a bit more scarce than other sizes.

I’ve run Easton Carbon Bars for years without any problems and i don’t own a torque wrench.
I always use carbon paste and a combo of experience and “feel” whilst tightening.

The Bottom O’th Moor area of Horwich has great riding straight from the door – it also happens to be a nice area to live.
On the outskirts of Bolton – Belmont is good, Egerton and Edgworth are also good.
I’m originally from the Smithills area of Bolton which also has decent riding right on the doorstep with Smithills Moor + Winter Hill/Rivvy.
I’ve recently moved over to Aspull on the outskirts of Wigan and the terrain flattens out a bit over here, it’s still easy to get to Rivvy/Smithills Moor by car and throwing the bike in the back etc, but it’s not the same as riding straight from the door, as i hate riding on roads.
I wouldn’t move back to Bolton for a gold clock though.

I packed fags in 6 years ago now. I don’t think i could have done it without the e-cigs.
I haven’t touched a cigarette in all that time and i reckon i’ve saved around £15,000.
I did a lung function test 30 years ago and the doc was disappointed with the results and put it down to smoking, i tried another test 6 months ago and it was off the scale for my age,doc reckoned i had the lung power of a 30yr old non-smoker.
I’m still vaping, but hey-ho i’ll take my chances – fags were gonna kill me anyway.

We used The Skiddaw hotel a year or two back and after we sent an email request they let us lock our bikes up in a downstairs room that wasn’t being used.
Last year we stayed at The Kings Arms Hotel which is next door to the Skiddaw, it’s a smaller hotel so we just left our bikes overnight in the van in the car park behind the hotel.
Keswick isn’t really known for crime.
Both hotels are right in the centre of town.
Keswick is fantastic for a bite to eat and a few beers.
Whinlatter is within riding distance, but i would recommend driving straight to the trailhead thus avoiding the boring Whinlatter Pass road climb.
    Hope this helps

Quote – “Last year during lunch time circuit training a girl in her twenties (I was 45) said I had a nice bum and pinched it. Luckily we operate under the Armed Forces Discipline Act so I was able to call her out on the spot and stop her weekend leave. I actually felt like I might be overreacting but then considered how I’d feel if someone did that to my daughter in public”

FFS, it’s the end of the world as we know it.
As a man in your mid 40’s,could you not just have been flattered that a young girl in her 20’s has even noticed you exist?

I sold the very car you’re looking for this afternoon. :D
    2009 Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec 5 door,57,000 Miles,1 year MOT, full service history,absolutely unmarked – I sold it for £2850
I’m fairly sure the 1.8 Duratec engine is chain driven, but the 1.6 has a timing belt.

Modern Diesels are very clean and no comparison to the smokey oil burners of old – my 2016 Vauxhall Insignia 1.6 CDTi EcoFlex Estate produces 99g/km of emissions and is Zero road tax, 50mpg around town and 70 mpg on a run AND you can get 2 mountain bikes in the back.
Compare that to a petrol engine above 1.6 and with similar room inside, then tell me who’s damaging the environment.
Did I mention that it’s for sale? :D

I ride that section all the time (It’s not actually Rivvy, it’s part of Smithills Moor)
Theres a short steepish climb/descent to the right of the section that you’ve highlighted – there were steps there a few years ago but they have since been removed.
Never found any screws there, but i know it’s really popular with horsey types.
I’ll keep my eyes peeled next time i’m there – tomorrow hopefully.
    Cheers

When the weather is dry and my bike is clean, i polish all the paintwork with car wax, then lube the drive train.
When i get back from a muddy ride i just spray it with the garden hose & the mud just flies off due to the car wax. Then i dry the chain + re-lube it.
    10 mins tops.

The countryside and some of the villages in Lancashire are absolutely gorgeous (and the riding is great) However most of the larger towns have been ruined by bent councillors bending over backwards to obtain the Asian vote, the result being no-go areas and ghettos being created in a lot of towns.
There are still a lot of unspoilt areas in Lancashire, although house prices are at a premium in most of them.

I’ve got the Madison Zenith Softshell (Hoodless) and it’s my “go to” jacket.
It rarely gets too hot if riding in weather around or below 15deg C.When winter kicks in add a couple of base layers and it’s still toastie warm even when the temp gauge hits below freezing.
Showerproof rather than waterproof, but i prefer it to my Goretex softhell which is a bit “boil in the bag” at anything above 12 degC.
Great jacket for the money imo.

I have these Moove thru pins on both my bikes and i’ve used them for 2 years without any issues. They are very grippy with a large platform. Replacable pins obvs.
I think they are around £37 from a small Irish company made up of fellow MTB ‘ers

A couple of years ago i hit a kerb at 5mph,went over the bars – knocked 3 teeth out, broke my nose & 10 stitches over my eyebrow.
Last week i fell off at 3 mph & went otb into a dried up rocky riverbed – landed on my back and it hurt like ****.I’m not totally convinced this is the right sport for me :D
Only joking,i’ll do it till i die :D

The Boardy Team FS is a cracking bike for the money. I bought one virtually brand new for £500 off the Bay and sold it 18 months later for £650 and could have sold it 10 times over.
I only sold it because i got offered a Trek Fuel EX7 which was ever so slightly slightly better than the Boardy.

I was out for a ride today on the moors and bumped into an old guy who asked me for directions, we had a quick chat and it turns out he was 90 years old and out enjoying a beautiful day. I said “You look very well for 90 years old, whats your secret?”
He replies ” Stay away from wimmin after you’re 21 years old”
It put a smile on my face.

I think myself and Andy4d are fellow members of the Moove pedal admirers club – awesome.Large platform, light and grippy.
After 2 years they start to “run-in”
I have Nukeproof Electrons on my hardtail which are decent, but not a patch on the Mooves.
