Didn’t MBUK used to do this back in the day as well?

Voted birtwistle last time after getting a leaflet the day before the election which I had thought was BNP but turned out to be labour. Will be going labour this time as the candidate seems not to be the careerist carpetbagger we had as a candidate last time, And also to avoid a conservative government (see above).

FWIW I think Gordon Birtwistles work had as much to do with preserving NHS services in Burnley as George Osbourne’s had with engineering the “recovery”.

As someone facing a near identical situation to the blogger in the link, that is an excellent assessment of what our family is facing. I went through school as an exam taker and was did a lot better at O levels than I would have done at GCSEs. We need a lot more flexibility in the education system. Frustratingly there are ministers in the current government who have excellent understanding of the issues involved (John Timpson for one) but the DfE gets to keep pushing this rubbish.

You’re not making life easy for me here. Whilst I had no difficulty convincing myself I don’t need one of these

I am having less success in actually deciding not to buy one.

Edit to add that I am, of course, very upset by this.

I remember a girl at work once booking a wedding venue and being really excited that the pictures of the grounds showed peacocks.
“Ooohh, Peacocks! It will be so romantic, waking up to the sound of peacocks!”

Cue an awkward pause and one of my colleagues put into words what we were all thinking “You’ve never actually heard a peacock have you?” :?

As a non designer, I loved the cover photo and had assumed that the copyright symbol was a neat design touch to help complement the central rider. Kudos Jorji (that probably makes you feel worse )

Quite like kona actually. Any other ideas of “acceptable” bike based names?

Not sure Kona is acceptable if he intends travelling to Portuguese speaking countries.

I also like the surgery test to check the non Jeremy Kyleness of names. Just say out loud “hello my name’s xxx xxxx and I’ll be performing your surgery tomorrow”. If your gut response is “no you won’t”, pick a different name.

I was at Manchester Renegades of Rhythm tour too. A phenomenal night. Hearing the break and beats come out and knowing that this was probably the vinyl the samples we’ve been listening too for 35 years originally came from. Looking forward to checking out the link.

Grrrr. My 1997 300TDi with a Toad immobiliser isn’t starting. When I touch the fob to the immobiliser the LED goes from flashing to solid as normal, the usual ignition and pre-heater lights come on but the engine isn’t turning over at all. I can hear a relay clicking behind the dash but having dismantled the dash I can’t find any obvious problems. Any thoughts about what to do next or know a good Landy sparks near Burnley?

Hummersknott Comprehensive here and we did Jean claude, Marie France et al, I seem to remember a newspaper called Depeche d’Ambiers as well. Also Lieslotte ,Lumpi and Ceacilius too. have to say when the Latin course opened in sunny Pompeii we suspected it might not end well for all concerned.

Can you actually get the app? I’d heard it was just vapourware.

Another vote for Ben & Holly, and I love the fact that the Wise Old Elf ( and Grandad Pig) is voiced by Parker from Thunderbirds. And Nanny Plum is hilarious.
