Why the hell not, it’s not as if they are cheap! You can’t get much more abrasive than Peak Grit!

Good idea about using a iPad protector.

Is there such a thing as a diamond grade screen protector? Highly scratch resistant??

Hmmm…..differing views about wear, but all positive about power. Definitely worth a go on the next order and I’ll give them a go in the Peak grit mud!

If and when the big boys release hydro shifters (SRAM will be first) then you won’t be complaining about £200 it will be any where between £500-£2000 to get them.

As they will come out on the top groupsets first and if it’s the rumoured Di2 hydro shifters you’ll need a whole new groupset which will be astronomical. Dura Ace sti are what £350 just for the levers plus extra for calipers etc and that’s if it’s not Di2

Don’t agree with duir at all. If it’s for a trail bike Ti is a great option to regin in the excess if yOur light on the body weight Ti springs in heavier weight are not that far off steel

Looks like just another linkage driven single pivot frame but in a nice colour and part made of steel.

Sure it will sell well as Cotic is a quality company but it (on the face of it) doesn’t seem to anything different or ground breaking.

Well at least I seem to be getting it – even if it is just the basics.

Clubber – I know wheel base is different but in this example if you increase the offset – the wheelbase of the bike will get slightly larger. That’s what it seems to look like in the 4th drawing.

So you should have a slightly more stable wheelbase even though the steering is slightly quicker (if all the numbers/values stay the same). Or am I missing something?

Oh all good stuff those drawings – cheers

    So on the example:

Say if you have a 420mm rigid fork on a bike with a 71 degree head angle.

    If the fork has:

Rake/offset: 48mm compared to 35mm – you would get an decrease in trail, so therefore a quickening of the steering without a change in head angle even though you are effectively lengthening the wheelbase.

    Is that right??

Got the lonely planet guide and map.

Planning on hiring a car for a week and there seems to be plenty of hostels in the major town and villages with private 2 person rooms that are very reasonably priced.

So mix in a few of those and a few nice hotels too.

We’ll be doing the Laugavegur Highland Walking Trail which will take up 5 nights and be dirt cheap – £25 a night in the mountain huts (probably the only cheap accommodation on the island.

    Flights were cheap

So it mean we have more money for the rest of the trip. It will be our honeymoon so don’t mind treating ourselves – rather than the usual camping holidays.
