Pretty good sizing – hope so – mtb hoody I’d expect trim and fitted for the size but still able to go over a layer and roomy enough to go to the pub and don’t look skin tight roadie

    About right?

I’d love to see this 15lb 43c gravel bike……is it powered by fairy wings or just the usual STW bike scales

I have a brand new Tout Terrain Mule Plus that I would sell at a good price due to change of plan. Like the mule but with £100 worth of extras – the reviews call it the ultimate rear single wheel trailer

Surprised Cotic do it this way as well. Isn’t a 3xbottle boss only ment to load about 5kg – that’s what the Bikepacking manufactures seem to limit it too.

I am aware of the steel vs aluminium mount. But if you look at Starling which have a similar set up. They have a very very solid looking welded steel mount/cradle which then the aluminium mount bolts to

The full suspension is a thing of beauty!

Ti and Carbon should massively improve the boat anchor of the original. But looking at those recent Pinkbike photos and the ones in this article –

    https://www.pinkbike.com/news/inside-stanton-bikes-full-suspension-uk-manufacturing.html

Is the shock mount really only held on by 3 bottle bosses? Seems a bit crazy for a high stress area. Would have thought a welded on shock mount would be far more sensible like every other manufacturer……

Onza – open bath speed sensitive cartridge. No faults really, adjustable and supportive. Not tried RC2 but leagues better than stock setup – feels a lot like my old Marz 44Ti RC3 which is praise itself

I know the CSU leg diameter is different as Is the thread for the damper. But that’s all in the CSU. So leg diameter is the same, I’d be running 140mm travel so length is fine. The only thing might upset it is the little indent on the CSU to equalise the legs mights be different position between models??? Unknown

Bushings are £30 to swap out so not to bad

Brant Brant Brant – my action blanket arrived next day this week despite the bad weather. It’s ace – Opel fruits!

Like the idea of a smock. You thought of proper nice slim fitting ventile (single and double layer). Awesome material but left in the dark ages with the traditional box fit and drab colours. When it could be arcteryx with old school material

Didn’t this come up in the Cotic Solaris Max thread.

Cotic quote 2.2kg for a large inc axle but sure somebody weighed theirs at it was over 2.5kg and the owner was surprised.

Just re-read that thread and it was Actually 2.6kg but the frame was a XL. But I doubt the weight difference between a L and an XL is 400g

Be very interested in a new Swift same as before, but 30.9 seat tube (with a dedicated 27.2 shim if needs be), keep the 1 1/8 head tube and fork. But got to be designed around a longer top tube and short stem 470mm reach at least on a large. Everything else was cool, maybe 3 bolt bosses on the forks.

For the first time in my life I won’t see my parents at Christmas to.

I also have stuck to to the rules see above.

Did you go for a walk or a cycle today outdoors and didn’t meet anybody you know? If you did then, like I did today also, then what is the difference if I do the same 100miles away from my house in a remote more rural location than next to a city like I did today.

If it’s the law then I will follow it. But as of this morning the government didn’t see fit to make it the Law they saw fit to advise me, not tell me. It is not clear yet if that has changed

I’m sure all the people commenting in the last few minutes are in the new teir 4 or will still be mixing with family on Christmas Day. I’m not in a Tier 4 location.

I want to go to a remote cottage and not mix with any other people I just have to travel to get there.

But the new rules don’t affect Meadowhall being packed with 11,000 people everyday on the run up to Christmas

Waiting for the gov website to be updated but it seemed to me to just be advisory

Yes, spud I’m asking on here to clarify the Law, not to ask for permission. Every thing about travel which you just posted is advisory and not the Law.

    Soooo……

Is this new ‘stay local’ advisory or in law like the new tier 4 rules down south?

Not needed to but all spares are available for a KitchenAid so a bit like buying Hope.

And yes I do own an Orange too

They look great in any kitchen you can’t say that about many appliances which usually end up in a cupboard and out of sight.

We recently upgraded ours to the glass bowl and it looks even better.

    Rik

Amazing. Basically go for the 4.7l bowl not the smaller one, Then pick a colour.

We went John Lewis for the warranty but ours hasn’t missed a beat in 10 years of daily use

I know thats the tempting thing! I get 8% extra off Currys through work if i buy gift vouchers to spend instore or online.

    So less than £210 delivered

Very tempted but i still think i’m going to wait till Boxing day

Cool thanks for the clarification and yes i always carry a second pie! Who doesn’t, that and an emergency mars bar. Fixed blade is no go

Making sandwiches in advance is just not an option, i wouldn’t want my apple to go brown with my brie baguette

I have just swapped out the opinel for a swiss army knife.

I was always under the illusion that the opinel was okay, as you manually have to move the locking mechanism into place unlike a framelock knife which is automatic upon opening the blade. But no worries swiss army knife apple slayer it is.

The holiday company was the surprising thing, they were desperate to ‘bend the rules’ and took the booking no probs

Unlike a similar company who rang us up when Sheffield first went into tier 3 in Oct and advised us that we should be cancelling our Oct holiday. So we didn’t go away in Oct.

You cant join up with your Christmas bubble until the 23rd and that finishes on the 27th. But they have taken the advisory about not travelling from the 22nd – 28th and also staying at hotels etc. Presumably to allow you to travel a long distance to see your bubble which might take you more than a day

We are very strict with the rules. i.e. not been to a pub indoors (when they were open) since March! Shop online for everything so can’t remember last time i even went in a shop.

Just dont want to be turned away at the boarder (tiny chance of being stopped) or fined (dont think they can)

If anybody fancies taking it apart I have a fully built Rough terrain Crane 42082 in Sheffield I could do a good price on.

Bought it 2 years ago when I was off work for two weeks after an operation. Fully working and the original instructions (and box but that’s been eaten slightly by the dog!)

Not sure where you are in the country (I’m Sheffield) but I’m just about to sell my wife’s Transition Rapture gravel bike.

She’s 5ft 3 and runs the bike with 13cm of seat post showing. It’s built with mavic wheels and a Shimano Ultegra triple group set for a nice low gear and avid bb7 brakes

Depends if you have enough time now to complete before the stamp duty holiday ends as a 500k house will nearly always have a long chain both ways unless very very lucky. Esp. If your house is not on the market yet.

The market is mental at the minute in Sheffield. If you have a nice house to sell (or buy) then in the popular areas they are going for well over asking price (not even asking price as most houses have a guide price window pushing up prices even more) but we sold ours in 4 days and bought in 5 days including going to best and finals 3 times! Mad.

But the stamp duty holiday and the fact that you can pick up some of the best long term fixed rates ever seen (with a big deposit – they were better a month ago though) makes it a no brainer if you want to move.

My colleague lives in S10… Not sure exactly where, but not a million miles from the Morrisons on Fulwood road, I know that much.

Broomhill then. Certain post codes in Sheffield defy the north/south spilt in the country and are easily as expensive as down south. But that’s what you get by being squeezed between a city and national park. It’s a unique city. There is nowhere to go to prices rocket accordingly.
Live on the east side of Sheffield you can buy a 7 bedroom estate for the same price as a 3 bedroom detached in the west, factor in the best schools and the price goes up again.

You will struggle on your budget for Ranmoor or Fulwood, Dore too if you want something with no work to do. Even with work a 4 bed house will be a semi and not detached.

    —— Thread resurrection ———

So I bought two Amazon echo plus speakers in the sale for £60 each, tried them linked together with the Amazon dot hard lined into my separates amp works perfectly with no audio delay on the separates amp.

So the original way to fill the open plan ground floor works, amp in the lounge with proper speakers, and an echo plus in the dinning room and one in the kitchen all linked, but…..

Now I see prime day are doing Echo studios for £50 less. So now I’m wondering if I can do away with the amp in the lounge and just use two echo pluses and a echo studio all linked.
It would certainly be a lot cleaner and smaller solution. But would it be loud enough in the lounge?

Or just return in of the echo plus and replace with a echo studio and keep the amp.

Moving from S10 to S11 – never really ridden a huge amount over that side other than Blacka and the very odd time on Totley moor

up through Beauchief Abbey and over to Holmesfield/Dronfield/Linacre etc.

What’s the riding like? Looking at the map there’s not a huge choice of bridleways is it mostly cheeky riding? Or lots of road to link up the paths?

    That Gozney Dome looks awesome!

Was thinking about a Komado bbq for next year, but this might be better. Low and slow with the door, high for pizza! Wonder how much heat it pumps out the door might even work as a patio heater too
