I used this method and it works well as long as your tyres are relatively ight you wont need to mess around with washing p liquid either and you can also get away with a track pump, compressor is more guaranteed tho

leave the crank on the bike and use a decent long pedal spanner, the cyclo ones are long and offer a lot of leverage and the main thing is use your legs and weight pushing down on the spanner

I just use a normal quality waterproof greaseon the bearings, rather than any snake oil/grease on offer from CK

AFAIremember the manual said if you couldnt get hold of their special grease that you could use normal 10w40 motor oil

get one with a decentish throughput (measured in cfm) and tank. The one that Aldi sells quite often is pretty good for the price-£80 9.5 cfm and 25 litre tank and comes witha variety of airtools as well

😳 doh, its 2006 but your right I was looking at the boost valve settings

the aldi ones are very good value, the main point of having a compressor for tubeless is having a good airflow and IMO a reserve tank so the compressor doesn’t need to work all the time.Cnsidering you get loads of ‘useful ‘ tools and the airflow is about 4 times as much and it has a 25 litre airtank, for only £15 more, it seems an obvious choice.
I’ve had mine for a while and its performed perfectly lots of interesting air tools as well

🙄 nickegg I’m just encouraging others to try it, however you are welcome to stick with your method, but you can only speak for yourself 🙄
Removeable valve cores are also uneceesary in my experience, just unseat 4 inches of tyre from the rim and put your sealant in replace bead and reinflate- cant be easier.

It is a no brainer 😀 . IMO it is more satisfying using old valves and tape and buying as little as possible and achieivng the same results.
Its kinda like P7 lights, only those who have them know how good they are but there are still people willing to spend £250 for the same result.
I just dont get it 😕

This is the definitive guide, contrary to popular belief you don’t need to spend money on rimstrips and valves, just some sealant and you can even save money on that.
tyre/rim combintion is important so do some research on that first, I have had perfect results with stans and rolf dolomtes and various continentals. I have never need to use soapy water with these tyre rim combunations either.
If your tyre is a tight fit on your rim you may be able to just use a track pump, but a proper compressor makes it easy(at least 10 cfm and 2.5 hp with a 25 litre tank or greater, the one they often sell at aldi is great and comes with loads of other interesting air tools 8) )

its one I have just taken off my prophet and has been replace by a dhx 5.0 air, I just wanted to make sure of this before I sell it, I guess I will have to reinstall on the bike and give it a proper test

I actually only have the two mode one- not sure exactly which one but mine has one one of the largest reflectors, and to be honest if I bought again would probably get the 3 or 5 mode just for longevity of the battery, saying that I have got more than 2 hours on a battery so depending on how long your night rides are a 2 mode and 2 batteries would be fine, I have yet to do a 4 hours plus nightride but I think Its good to have the choice so I would say go for one of the 5 modes, I hear the strobe is quite good

get them from dealextreme.com you can buy a mount for about $2 although I made mine from an old mount. I was really surprised at how much brighter than my HID these lights are. There are loads of people who have sold their expensive lightsets once they saw how powerful/value for money these lights are if you do a search on the forum you will find loads of positive comments and negative ones mostly from people that have spent £300 or more on lights that offer very little more in terms of output. If I can save hundreds of pounds just for the “incoveinence” of changing a battery I know what i prefer here
