Looks like a perfect green family trail TBH,

exactly what it is- perfect for getting the younger ones into the idea , all perfectly rollable, nothing stupid. I think they’ve done a splendid job if that was the remit. What it isn’t is a C-y-b or Cwmcarn with lots of techy stuff. Reckon a nice 4x bike would be just about perfect to thrash it.

And yet despite all those hardships and difficulties, you didn’t chose to go for the simple part-time full pay, long holidays, option of becoming a teacher. That sounds a bit idiotic to me. oh! imho

    not too keen on kids.

Your free to retrain and climb aboard the gravy train,

    I’m guessing you mean ‘you’re’ ?

neither teacher nor imho an idiot. I work in large scale manufacturing, and have seen it go from over manned subsidised to brink of collapse to slow recovery. We’ve had to make massive changes, some reasonable, some not so reasonable. Again, my own opinion is that any job working 8.30 til 3.30 with 15 plus weeks of holiday plus numerous bingo days inbetween is part time compared to most occupations.

I’m saying that if you have kids, you will need to take time off every now and then, so I don’t see why one strike day seems as such a disaster for working parents

Clearly has no children. I’ll still have to take time off if my kids are ill plus take a day today.

The original thread starter sums up the majority of teachers and is the reason why they get little in the way of non-teacher support from parents, we know that its almost a part time job with full time pay, we don’t buy this ‘I do lots of marking in my own time’ shit and we know that inset days are booked with the sole reason of a slow start back after holidays. Work 8 hours a day , 5 days a week 47 weeks a year then moan about conditions – until then get back to the classroom and quit whining.

try doing some of that prep and marking you all claim you need 20 weeks holiday and 7 hour working days to do? Or volunteer to provide childcare to those who have to book a day off work to cover.

There is a world of difference between proper graffiti art and tagging

Not exactly, what you would term ‘proper’ is just an evolution from the very early artists like Taki 183 and Stayhigh 149. Most of the now accepted artists (Banksy, Futura etc.) started by tagging and some of the best works have been extensions of a name piece. Granted the tag of Tox and the work of Blek le Rat seem to have little in common but it all comes from the same place.
I personally think Man is doing some unusual work at the moment but each to their own.

Corn Street is ok for a punch up or to watch young girls spewing imho, the only exceptions being Start The Bus and Mr.Wolfs around the corner.

If it were me I’d take them to Zero Degrees for a bit of grub and a few pints of black lager, then into the Smiles bar, up round the back of Park Street to Manos bar, then maybe the Park if you still have a taste for it. Browns is nice also if its warm because you can sit outside.

I loved Morgins last year – it was a refeshing change to ride dead quiet tracks that were very well maintained. And its rideable there and back from morzine.

personally I’d take him on MBR first- the Beast is no more technically challenging (imho) but the climbing I found a little soul destroying on my first (and 2nd) time around (not on the same day) – unless of course he has a good level of fitness already?

I took my kids (similar ages) to Les Arcs and hadn’t reckoned on how much food and ice cream was going to cost as I’d only ever gone on my own. I felt like I’d been mugged.

like CB says- get some decent trainers. Have your running style analysed at a decent running shop and get the right footwear to suit.

Really – most people think its ok to be openly racist and have no qualms about showing their ignorance to a world wide audience?

We’re gonna miss him when he’s gone

not me, other than me keeping him and his inbred clan in food and shelter he means **** all to me.

And that spear chucker remark is just one example of retarded racism that gets laughed off because he ‘speaks his mind’ , if he made a statement like that in most workplaces he’d be sacked and rightly so, and if he made it in most pubs he’d be picking his teeth up off the floor.

I used a co pilot after being advised the seat tube clamp type aren’t as sturdy- not sure how true it was but worked a treat and would hear the snoring within ten minutes usually. I did get a bollocking for wheelying with my eldest in it though but the counter balance effect made it so easy.

Norman Wisdom shopping in M&S. Followed him on CCTV for over an hour waiting for a comedy “Mr Grimsdale” moment that didnt happen

my old man used to work in M&S and NW used to shop regular and often did the Mr.Grimsdale moment for the till girls!

So are they basing this rise on actual meter readings or guesstimating future useage? I’m amazed that energy companies tell customers they need to raise the dd payments significantly based on speculation, people pay then think themselves lucky when they get a rebate whilst the companies are raking in interest on thousands of overpaying customers cash.

Also has bikes and a trail , 24 hour bar and a snooker table. Plus just down the road for you. Celtic Manor is fine if you plan to stay in but nothing else near unless you play golf.

Also had Oros and did a week in Les Arcs and a week in Morzine no problem, no more pad wear than anyone else I was with on Hopes, Avids and Maguras. Be careful with the discs though, you need to have Formula specific as they are a little thinner than usual (I think). I would never buy Hope again, all the customer service in the world won’t make up for failing to hold their pressure in Morzine despite proper set up.

yeah- not sure where they are with the whole new trailcentre/new trail business but that section certainly looks fun.

Agree with the above- we have ours crated when we aren’t there but its a few hours at the most, if you work everyday and plan on leaving the dog everyday then expect trashed furniture at best and a call from the RSPCA at worst when your neighbours report a dog howling endlessly.

Only 2 explanations for this thread

    1) Its a pisstake and hes had his bike lifted from a trail centre whilst ‘dropping the kids off’
    2) He rides an Apollo Creed

I’m scared to leave my car unattended at Cwmcarn or Afan let alone my bike.

you’ve been mis-sold. Ask for a return and refund or a cash settlement for the difference. Its a matter of principle but if he doesn’t know what he’s selling then chances are they aren’t looked after. Hope you paid via paypal?

quality- the same principle works well on a clothing forum I use and generally its the stupid that try the scam and leave a trail on the web that is so easy to follow. Incidentally I got missold something off Pink bike and was given a bit of email verbal , traced him off his account where he’d mentioned his workplace and arranged to meet him outside for a full refund or I’d step inside and talk to his boss. Cash followed very quickly.

the pds one I’ve linked earlier is as good as any. The Swiss National is at the top of the Mosettes lift and you’ll see people riding down to the start , you double back under the lift down the fireroad type thing and its on your left. Look over the edge and you’ll see it snaking down , hairpin after hairpin! Morgins is a town, there are 2 main tracks there both serviced by the same chairlift, both are kept in tip top condition and are pretty spectacular imho. I had my best day there last year and I would definitely make the trip there again. As a bonus there is a deli/sandwich shop about 700yds up the road from the lift station that does epic salads and rolls.
