Yep, all good. Great trails, quality accommodation, free beer and a hot tub. Get it booked!

If you’ve quoted for a job and later realise your quote was too little then thats your problem (sorry!).

However if your client is making changes / amendments then he should pay. I would have thought the correct way to deal with it would be to quote for each additional amendment in advance. Its not fair to just give a bigger bill at the end with no warning and I personally wouldn’t pay for anything that wasn’t quoted for and agreed beforehand.

No but you might want to consider the risks a bit more. Assuming capital is required do you want to risk what you have, house etc and potentially have to work into retirement to pay any losses back?

Depressing thought I know but most businesses don’t succeed 🙁

The first album was sublime, I remember playing it to people that had never heard it before and they were blown away by it. Sadly it went downhill from there IMO.

Ridethelakes what’s the deal on this crash replacement please? I haven’t heard of it. Maybe £400 is cost…..

As for riding yeah definitely let’s get out. Will have to wait on new back end or maybe a mate’s bike tho. What sort of stuff do you do? I like to get out with biketreks and sometimes KMB, just back into riding again after a long period out due to illness and injury.

Don’t know the exact details but I know it definitely exists. £400 seems cheap actually so maybe that is cost?

I ride mainly South Lakes closer to home so Kentmere most weekends and also Grizedale usually for night rides on a Wednesday night. Never been out with Andy and the Biketreks lot but hear the pace is rather brisk to say the least! I heard its pretty popular now as well after the mag article.

See here for our forum (I’m sparker) ridethelakes

I’ve got a spare bike thats just being fixed so you’re welcome to borrow it once biketreks sort my wheels out! Let me know if you fancy going out.

If you don’t get it replaced under warranty then Yeti definitely have a crash replacement program so you can get a new back end at cost. Bromley bikes are the importers so you could give them a call for advice.

Btw I’m down the road from you in Windermere if you fancy a ride sometime? Assuming you get your biked fixed!

Surprised no one has mentioned HP Plantation between Staveley and Kentmere 🙂

Assuming its a 5 spot, 36’s would be sweet. They’re light enough for all day use and as long as you get Talas you can wind them down on the climbs. 5 spot geometry isn’t based on a 160 fork so i would definitely go with the Talas.

If you’re riding isn’t that hardcore then 32’s with a bolt through would be my choice.

Helvellyn as a night ride! Thats pretty hardcore.

Does anyone know what the wide, rocky track is called that goes from above the visitor centre (just past the second part of the North Face) to near the top of Lawson Park?

If it’s the one I’m thinking of then we refer to it as the ‘riverbed’ for obvious reasons. Don’t know if it has an official name.

It’s a great trail as well, just as much fun trying to clear it as a technical climb as it is a descent.

I’ve just put an ignitor on the rear with a high roller on the front and so far it seems to be a killer combination.

It was great fun before but it’s not a big deal to have it sanitized IMO. There are plenty of other challenging trails, as the response pointed out, and anyway give it a few months for it to wash out (they always do) and it will be a good challenge again.

We do have to share the trails with others and have to respect that, we just need access to footpaths but thats a whole other debate…

How the hell do you people do it? 2 adults and one poo monster here and its ridiculous having collection fortnightly and yes we do recycle. Its ridiculous and I think many people keep quiet just because its for the ‘environment’.

Theres definitely a business opportunity for someone to set up and do private collections.

CRC and Wiggle do show they are getting stock in towards the end of June though. I’ll be gutted if they stop making them.

Ahh brings back memories when I used to work in Docklands (especially the sunbathing girls at lunchtime…), I almost missed London for about a millisecond (-:

Dubrovnik is great, been there probably about 15 times as my Mum is from there. Definitely not a place for nightlife, more of a romantic couples, culture holiday. The Old Town is something else and is right up there with Venice and other wonders of the world in my opinion.

My brother rents out an apartment if you need accommodation:

You can always get yourself a seal kit from Mojo for and do it yourself.

I always hated tubeless and used to slate them after seeing so many people with their tyres burping sealant (usually accompanied by high speed deflations…) and all sorts of other problems. However I’ve had a full ust set up (crossmax st rims and high roller lust) for over a year now and haven’t had a single problem since. A good tubeless setup is fantastic and well worth it IMO.

I’d go for the Remedy. Prefer the four-bar-esque braking pivot over faux bar and they seem great value.

Warranty is 2 years on fox forks.

The Joyriders guys use regular tubes with sealant in. For presta valves, they deliberately make a hole in the tube, squirt the latex in and then patch the hole. Seemed to do the trick.

I don’t see there being a huge problem with stantion wear, it’s not like the seals are air tight. The seals would need regular cleaning and re-oiling as they will almost certainly leak, and if the seals are allowed to get dirty then that could make them a bit sticky. but can’t see performance being affected too much? Anyone else know for sure?

Often wondered about this as I’ve just got my second set of fox forks repaired with new CSU’s.

Agreed. He used to make me laugh but there’s something desparate about him these days as though he knows he’s not funny any more and is trying too hard to compensate.

Both are great fun, Troutbeck to Kentmere has a more rideable climb (some people have done it!) with a shorter but more mental downhill. Kentmere to Troutbeck has a push up but a much longer and IMO better fun downhill. You can always make a day of it and do it both ways which I’ve done before.

The VG book is excellent for routes or try here ridethelakes.com

I read that you could convert them, was thinking of doing mine but then got a pair of 36’s. A quick Google found this.
