Slight hijack but on-topic, does anyone know of a suitable container to keep a couple of spokes in your pack without them bending?

Triple S, expensive but reassuringly so.

Is it selfish to have two weetabix at breakfast instead of one as well?

How did you adapt it to fit, I have a joystick mount and the same torch but they don't fit. Tried various methods of adapting it without success.

Oh and its bright as hell on the trail, expecially with a HID lamp on the bars!

Mentioning "fatality" in the thread title killed all hope of it ever being humourous for me 😕

Its based in Morecambe, famous for sunny skies, sandy beaches… okay its a freakin dump 😕

We're offering 30k but will probably up it to 32 🙂

Amazing squishy, you must be really proud to have pulled that off and beaten huge players like Lupine and Light & Motion!

Taz – the hole wears away allowing the stopper to slip out. You just use the dremel to grind away the worn bit so that it is a perfect hole again albeit bigger than the one before.

Ex Epiphany owner here. It was a great ride, very light and nimble, but I found it a little too flexy for my tastes, especially in the Lakes. I had a Mk1 and the rockers did break, it was the magnesium ones that were faulty now replaced with the aluminium one.

Still got an Ellsworth Moment which is a great bike with an RP23 but was horrible with a dhx air.

Oh and it looks worse without the gaiter belive it or not 😀

I got the 3 inch initially and felt it wasn't enough so on the 4 inch now. I have the turbo version, not tried the standard one.

They do need plenty of tlc, mine kept slipping down because the hole had worn slightly but a few minutes with the dremel sorted it.

Overally its been good but still looks like a pogo stick though…

The Prophet is an awesome bike, I've had mine for about 6 months now and love it. Know a couple of people with broken metas although admittedly one of them was using 36's with it and the head tube went.

Incidentally I weighed the frame the other week, 6.3lbs which is very light for a bike that can a lot more than the average trail bike. Lighter than Blur LT2. I read somewhere that the meta weighs over 7lbs.

Had mine for nearly a year now and use them every ride. I much prefer them to my old kyle straits mainly becuase they are much more discrete in terms of size and I just don't notice them on the bike. They fit under trousers easily too.

They do rub at the back of the knee a bit but my old ones did too. The hole to allow flex is in the wrong place wierdly but I only notice it after a ride.

No big crashes on them touch wood but would say they offer basic protection when compared to the bigger knee-shin combinations.

I think you'll find she's breaking the law, I'm sure its 2 months minimum for an AST and then only if the current tenancy has expired.

Try here for serviced apartments in London, some very expensive (butlers available :D) but some cheap too (blatant plug, my business :-)):

Love my Prophet, it was a bit of a punt when I bought mine as I've always bought expensive boutiquey bikes but I've been blown away by it. It's so well balanced, can manual and jump over stuff with ease but the front end doesn't feel light. Feels as solid through the rough stuff as my Ellsworth Moment with 36's too!

As a Windermere resident I can highly recommend Windermere as a base. Garburn Pass, Staveley, Kentmere, Jenkins Crag, Claiffe are all 10-15 minutes ride away and Grizedale and routes starting from Ambleside (Elterwater etc)are about 30 minutes ride away.

The posters suggestion above though isn't a bad one to base yourself around Ambleside / Hawkshead way. You won't go wrong in any of these places though tbh.

Could it be that you're just not used to the 36's yet? Bigger forks mean less weight on the front and potentially less grip on the corners.

Grizedale has lots of standing water, nearly drowned over parkamoor yesterday 😕

If I remember correctly, someone has built some badly built but fun woodwork in a wood on the edge of the village aswell. Good for a slight de-tour.

Thats all been demolished and removed now. Probably for the best it didn't look too safe 😀

You have to factor in the pace of development of new bikes too. I thought my 6 inch bike was a keeper but the likes of the new spesh enduro with a frame thats 2 lb lighter makes mine seem positively retro. And there's the new IBIS HD…

    In a nutshell…

Waters wrote the lyrics once Syd Barrett went mental and I think this went to his head as he felt that HE was Pink Floyd and wasn't getting enough recognition. My own view is that Dave Gilmour was as much a part of muscial success of the band in much the same way that the Stone Roses wouldn't have been so successful if it wasn't for the pairing of Brown and Squire.

So Waters left expecting the band to dissolve but Gilmour resurrected it with Rick Wright, writing new material and playing the old stuff resulting in the real bitterness between Waters and the rest of the band. I think they may even have had some court battles.

Post Waters Floyd was still successful musically, playing the old stuff but I always felt the new material was lacking.

Waters' solo stuff is worth a look and even Syd Barretts solo music has some gems amongst the madness.

I don't think the SLX ones from CRC include rotors so factor in an extra £26.

Good idea Stumpy, cheers for that.

Cheers for the links Phil, hadn’t heard of that place in Staveley, looks pretty good so will give it a whirl. Sioelan lives a bit far away otherwise would give her a call.

    Cheers all for the replies.

    Mmm now more confused!

My hamstrings are definitely too tight so will go with the stretching but maybe need to get my achillees checked out.
