Its 14 inches on the Pitch, thats not low its a high bottom bracket!

An Epic for example is 13 inches.

Oh and if it were a crash the thing would be all bent and scratched at the break.

Good point, they look fine apart from the break and I haven’t crashed. 100 quid is a lot of cash so think I’ll try warranty and see how I get on 😀

I think we’ve probably reached a plateau in terms of usefullness of new designs and products. Things like suspension, disc brakes and carbon have made massive leaps forward but I can’t see anything major in the next year or two that will transform our riding.

That said there is that much money in the industry that the manufacturers will keep telling us they have the next big thing but in reality most of us can do just as well without it.

Feather & Black do great mattresses, I’m loving mine. Seem really well made and weigh an absolute ton. You can choose how soft you want it too.

I don’t see why not, I’ve had a few fun nights out in Blackpool in my student days too 😆

    Go to a physio.

Just got mine sorted after 7 years. Physio got me doing ‘eccentric lowers’ for 3 months and loads of stretches. The lump has now gone and not had any aches or pains so definitely made progress but remains to be seen whether its fully healed and will ceom back again.

Sadly lacking in Windermere, couldn’t recommend a single one. You’re best heading for Bowness, with my personal favourite being the ‘Hole Int’ Wall’.

    A few more classics here:

    – Garburn Pass (with kentmere / staveley thrown in)
    – Grizedale (a few days can be had here)
    – Iron Keld / Hodge Close
    – Ullswater Singletrack (can combine with High Street)

Shame, thats a loss for Cumbria. Whilst he was a controversial figure with much opposition to his zip wire plan for example, he did amazing things with the slate mine which in turn helped Cumbria Tourism.

Same thing happened to me on my prophet. You can get it repaired properly, think its betd that do it, but its expensive. Other option as someone posted above is to get a downhill bb that gets more thread. I just sold the frame very cheap on the basis that it was broke.

I can definitely see the benefit of press in BB’s after that experience!

For the lumicycle battery, if you take it out of the bottle it won’t be waterproof.

I had the same problem, just send it back to lumicycle and they will take it out and reseal it in a bag.

    Q5 owner here (flame away 😀 ).

I’m happy with mine, its not perfect but its been a pleasure so far. I’ve got the 3.0tdi auto, its fast: 0-60 in 6.5 (faster than a Cayenne diesel) and relatively economical: 38mpg. Its a firm ride but its a sporty drive and the two usually go hand in hand. Its as big as an estate in the back so plenty of room for carrying bikes.

I had a Tiguan before this which I really liked but the boot is only slightly bigger than a Golf so not good for bikes and it was a bit dull to drive in comparison.

Just got the new FIT cartridge fitted to my 08 Talas 36’s. Haven’t tried them yet but was dissappointed to find that the new ‘lighter’ cartridge has actually made them heavier: 4.98 pounds before and now 5.1!

Not worried about a few ounces but did expect them to be lighter.

I’ve got one, had it about 6 months now and love it.

Size wise, I’m 5ft 10 and ride a medium which is perfect. They’re a bit longer than other medium bikes which is great for me as normally on other bikes mediums feel slightly too small and a large too big but the Zesty is spot on. I would say you need a large but so much of sizing is personal taste.

Its a quality ride, plush suspension, lightweight and stiff frame and living in the lakes it takes a battering. The finish on the frame is good too, it oozes quality with lots of nice touches.

Let me know if you want any more info.

We do regular rides on a Wednesday night with the obligatory beer afterwards, see here: ridethelakes[/url]

Not ridden much locally in Kendal (I’m in Windermere) but from Staveley just up the road there’s some quality riding and then obviously further up you have the whole of the Lakes to choose from 😀

I’ve got one, prior to that I had the older 4 led but left it in a car park (doh!).

Its all good, extremely bright, good range of modes, robust design. Beam is narrowish though for twisty trails where you need to see right and left but probably the same as other lights anyway. Modes take a little getting used too with the flick switch but once you do its good to have the options.

Not sure what else to say, it works great!

Happy Zesty 714 owner here. Cost me a fortune in helicopter tape but other than that I haven’t been able to fault it.

Ibis Mojo has a 69 degreee head angle which is too steep for my taste.

Actually taking o% finance makes perfect sense. Why pay the £500 now (assuming you have it in the bank) when you can earn interest on that and pay it in 6 months. Not huge amounts but hey better in your pocket than theirs (-:

And if you have an offset mortgage it makes even more sense to keep that £500 in your bank.

Not buying any forks just thought I would chip in 🙂

If you sit on it and move the bars from side to side you get an alarming amount of flex.

No offense but that’s over exaggerated bl*ll*cks! Mines been up and down toughest stuff the lakes has to offer and the bike has absolutely no tracking issues or noticeably worrying flex. In fact your old bike(ridethelakes) came on quite a few of those rides too and ate it up with a top rider onboard.

No offence taken, this is stw after all 😀

Its true though, try it. You just need to hold the seat with your thighs and move the bars from side to side.

I’ve had both, sold the Epi a couple of years ago but still got my Moment. The Epiphany is definitely flexy. If you sit on it and move the bars from side to side you get an alarming amount of flex. Head angle is well steep too. Those two things aside it is very light and the ict four bar is superb, so rides well.

I reckon you need a Moment. I weighed my frame only and it weighs 7.14lbs with an rp23 (best shock forget the dhx air) and is rock solid. I still love it now and despite having a blingy carbon zesty it still gets plenty of use. The BB height isn’t a problem (its the same as a Nomad) I think the issue is shock set up, especially with a DHX air. The ict four bar is very plush and its easy to put too much air in thinking you’ve got it right and then it sits too high in its travel, hence the high bb problems.

I fell for their sales pitch, agreed to swap over broadband and landline.

Was told there would be no loss of service whatsoever… A week later I had three days of no broadband. Had numerous phone calls which was an awesome display of ineptitude so I actually cancelled the whole order and went back to BT and my old broadband.

    Utter dimwits.

Was it just me or was last nights girls v boys effort indicative of the differences in gender as a whole?

Women are usually better organisers and I don’t think I’m going out on a limb by saying men have a better killer instinct for a good deal.

Coincidentally (or not…) my company is run by men but mostly staffed by women (-:

I’d go for the Yeti. Having ridden a carbon LT2 the head angle is well steep and outdated IMO. I’m amazed they haven’t slackened it up yet like other manufacturers.

I had a look at these and decided against it because it was basically cheaper to get an electric cable through (including running costs).

The system I looked at required buying a car battery, which are suprisingly expensive these days, and they have a limited life so you need to factor in the replacement cost which negated any savings on solar power.

I ordered at 79.99 before the 10%, I hope I don’t get charged the new price!
