Well put OP. Final straw for me, STW has been disappearing up its own arse for years.

Rocket Rons are mega light, only 450 which is the main reason I chose them. Went up tubeless no problem too.

If it doesn’t sound too patronising, its worth remembering that the little guys have much less weight so don’t need the same size nobbles that adults do.

Yes stock cranks as poah says. They aren’t a bad weight and I put a thick thin chainring on.

    howsyourdad, all spent up on the one kid, no money left for a second (-;

Cheers Poah, the monarch r on the Frechdax was brilliant so guess that’s a custom tune. Hopefully this new one will be okay but will see.

The shock feels fine Poah but the SID’s still feel a bit stiff even at 50psi. Hopefully they will loosen up a bit.

I’ve had a torque for 3 years. Its been awesome, use it for everything local trails to bpw to alps downhill. Got climb switch on cs air and talas 180 forks and it only weighs 31.5lbs (calibrated scales) so no problem getting up the biggest lakes climbs.

The frame itself is not heavy, I did weigh it when I first got it but can’t remember what it was now. I would guess around 7.5lbs.

Downhill its sublime, but its a lot of travel so some people might be offended by its smoothing out of the trail.

The fork initially was a float and got some scratches inside the air tube but added talas cartidge for a hundred quid and been fine since.

footflaps – How you can just recommend them like that with no reference to the downside is pretty irresponsible in my view.
You can’t just walk into Boots and buy them. As for downsides, there is always someone who has a bad reaction to any drug. You wouldn’t discount antibiotics for an infection just because some people are allergic to penicillin.

(and definitely don’t listen to a random person on an internet forum…).
You do realise that applies as much to you as me…

You’re right you can’t just buy them from Boots but you can get them free from your GP without too much of a struggle.

You recommended people take a drug that can be as addictive as crack cocaine without any warning of the downsides, I only recommended people do their research before going down that road.

I can highly recommend SSRIs, I used to be quite tense and neurotic 24/7, but for the last 6 years have been far more chilled about everything, mainly down to one 20mg pill I take every day. Bloody brilliant invention…

footflaps – How you can just recommend them like that with no reference to the downside is pretty irresponsible in my view.

Very happy for you that you’ve found them helpful but people should know that it can be as addictive as crack cocaine and has frightening side effects. My Mum went through a bad patch due to external issues around 20 years ago. Seroxat helped her through that bad patch which only lasted a few years but she has found it impossible to get off them and so 20 years later she is still on them with several long term side effects that she is living with.

SSRI’s should be an extreme last resort and make sure you do your research. Don’t listen to your GP that just hands them out like smarties (and definitely don’t listen to a random person on an internet forum…).

The first one is well overpriced I think. I know which one you’re talking about and I think its been on the market for well over a year, maybe two.

    Yes it is normal.

Every time you have an appointment it will be painful for a few days after. It used to make me really irritable and grumpy. Nurofen or mtfu.

The pain does decrease as time goes on as your teeth and gums get used to moving.

Big thumbs up for him from me.

Seen him a few times at talks and in the street as he just lives up the road from me. He has a very relaxed, sweary talking style which comes across like he’s talking to a mate which is really refreshing. He does talks at my sons school too and does a fair bit for charity so he’s a bit of a local hero.

Irritatingly my wife fancies him but can’t blame her really..

5ft 10 and 32″ inside leg here and I’m riding a Haro Pro 24 cruiser. Coming from mtb I thought 24″ wheels would be an easier transition.

The Haro is a quality bike but still pretty affordable. All sealed hubs, headset etc and a good weight.

Can I sneak a plug in here, theres a campaign for a new Regional Standard BMX Race Track to be built in Kendal, Cumbria, give it some likes please!

    Axle to crown heights here:

Even at 150 it would still be 15mm taller.

Have any of you noticed the bike being longer than usual when out of the saddle?

Never noticed when riding. Looking at the Liteville geo the reach is a few mm less than my trek remedy so don’t think its unusually long. The yeti doesn’t actually give a reach figure on the website unless we’re looking at different figures?

    Any thoughts?

    Get a demo.

There were no Liteville dealers near me but I got the importers to send me a demo bike to my local bikeshop biketreks on both the 301 and 601 and they sorted it.

As others have said above, they do size up small. I rode a Medium which is my usual size and it was way too small.

Cheers all. I called Fishers and they said to go off the most recent doc which would be on the website but two links would be ok for a hardtail.

Mike – yes, if you change the chainring you need a new chain! The range works for me though so I won’t need to be swapping chains.

Here’s a pic with it as it is (2 links as according to the first instructions):

It tightens up a bit when the suspension compresses but there is still room for the derailleur to move further.

They do come up small. I normally ride a medium but the medium I demoed was definitely too small.

Ex HD Supergravity user here. They seem awesome, casing is much more beefed up and at an incredible low weight but I had a split tyre on the fourth ride after years of running LUST’s without a problem so that put me off a bit. Had to walk back to the trail centre too because I couldn’t get the bastid tyre off the rim to put a tube in!

Out of curiousity because the tyre was trashed anyway I cut open the carcass and it seems like the sidewalls around the bead have been massively thickened to avoid pinch flats but along the treadline its as thin as a single ply maxxis.

Troutbeck side has been covered in slate so not technical at all although fast. On the plus side, if you like climbing its now doable for mere mortals (I’ve cleaned it twice *smug smiley*).

Kentmere side is a boulder fest as always though and worth doing if you have time.

skf are the best I’ve used (got two sets on two bikes so been through a few!), the double sealed ones.

Can’t remember the exact code but if you pop the old ones out the code will be written on there.

Not 100% sure as I’ve never done it but I think its just a case of unscrewing the cartridge from the bottom and then top of the leg, pulling it out and then swapping them over.

    ridethelakes

Doesn’t sound like something an oil change would fix although worth trying.

I’ve got a spare 36 R cartridge from when I converted mine to FIT which you can have if you don’t get it sorted.

The new hans dampf supergravity tlr tyre carcass is a game changer. Its downhill tough for an incredible weight (950grams for a 2.35 which is more like a 2.5).

They’re a pretty tight fit too. If they burped I would be amazed.

    You still beat me down as well (-;

32’s are too flexy for hooning down lakeland descents IMO. You get too easily deflected on the rocks, I definitely noticed the difference anyway. I would get Pikes, 34’s or 36’s. You could get them lowered to 150 or 140 mm if you didn’t want to mess with your geometry.

A Fox 34 has a lower axle to crown height than a 36 so you could get away with a pair of those.

    Cheers.
