With a one year old crawling around I just want to know what they are, they’ve been jettisoned into the back garden.

Something our dog brought in maybe ?

I love my Soloist. Great solid frame, fast and built very well.
I’m about to buy a Blitz to complement the Soloist.

We live in the sticks, terrible single lane roads is about 90% of our driving. I cycle to work so its only for dropping the nippers at school, biking trips and taking it into the local woods for getting logs etc.

Our past three cars have all ended up with damage from the roads and when it snowed we could not get out the driveway for 3 days…

Having just got rid of two cars which only did about 20mpg, fuel consumption is an issue but not a show stopper. I suppose something nearer 30 mpg would be OK.

The mpg is a worry, I want something just like that but with a good mpg…

    About 3k to spend.

Its always as risky as we want to make it.

On the way home yesterday my lad said he did not want me doing the jumps as "I dont want you to end up like those guys"

I explained that his old Dad does jump but never very high and only when wearing a helmet etc, but at the end of the day he needs to and does understand that a little risk in life in generally a good thing, when managed correctly.

A normal ambulance was there for the first, it looked pretty serious so the air ambulance was called to get him out, I would presume with suspected spinal problems the bumpy ride through the forest is not ideal ??

It was a grim couple of hours, some dog walkers did come over and start going on about the risks of letting jumps remain, the least they could have done is wait till the young lad was taken away before getting on their soap box.

We explained that you could remove them but people would just build their own elsewhere.

Funds are limited, new baby and a new bike mean I cant really push to a TFT service, in the region of £70 I think….

Do you think a service would stop the leaking ? Is it known problem ?

I'd have to get a shock pump etc, Anyone know of someone who can do this for me ? Berkshire way…

For disc brake cleaner, LBS ?

Most of Calcot is West Berks (I kinda work for them)

I can speak to the travel officer, She is very helpful and will probably be able to give some advice. I doubt WBC could do anymore than advise though, to say money is tight is a huge understatement.

I would happily help out with something like this, Reading and the surrounding area could do with something like it, my lad is 7 and would love it.

One thing, I do some mentoring and when I have looked into taking groups cycling the risk assessment stuff and problems with kids turning up on badly maintained bikes has been a real headache.

I just starting thinking that the networks but know its been reported stolen so when it appears on the network again, they would report it……

    So..
I spend hours riding and getting the train there to be told its not actually fixed.

The dealer takes me to the Citroen place where he has taken it, leaves me there do try and sort it all out.
Keeps phoning asking me what I have done about it, I explain that I am not doing anything until he gets back, its between him and the Citroen place, I just want my car sorting.

He turns up, says he will sort it and goes to get me a car I can borrow in the meantime.

His "mate" turns up ages later with an old, dented heap of a car, needing a lift home from me ! Dealer is now keeping a very low profile …

In the end the Dealer phones saying he will pay whatever the Citroen place say it will cost (approx £450 for a new oxygen sensor ?)

In the end I drop the "mate" home, and end back up the M3…

The crappy old car he had lent me then breaks down !!!!! I manage to repair it after a fun time on the hard shoulder….

Get home hours later with an old banger which only just runs, needs new brake pads, clutch, windows done open etc etc……

I've been thinking the same, once you looth faith in a motor its hard to relax, I'll be expecting problems all the time now…..

    Right….

    Its been bloody ages but…..

I am picking it up today, the Dealer ended up having to get a Citroen Dealer to swap out the management system and fit a new cam belt as that was also found to be on its way out.

Apart from asking for half of the cost of the cam belt (£150) which I am still yet to decide about its all supposedly sorted.

We shall see, I have kinda lost faith in the car a little, inshallah !

Its been an experience, doing all the shopping for a family of four on my bikes with just a rucksack. I even managed to get a crate of beer home for a bbq on the weekend.

To be fair the RAC cleared them yesterday is an attempt to get me moving again, they must have to account for that.

It has thrown up loads more errors since the RAC tried.

Cant fault the car apart from this problem, huge estate, all the gadgets you could want. I ride everywhere and just needed something good enough to ferry bikes to and from rides….

    All good advice… Thanks.

Any idea how much sand/hardcore/cement I would need to make a 8×6 patio then ? Is there a way to work it out.
I have just enough spare slabs i think.

Do you need to have slabs over the whole area or would just the corners be OK ?
