If your going to the expense of a strap on bike rack, once you have your 7 pin electric socket installed for your light board and reg plate, you may as well get a towbar mounted rack.

Don’t forget … Spokes over the light cluster = obscured in the eyes of the law

£200 a day max for a plumber. That’s the max I would pay regardless of the tasks they were doing

All that guy has done is quote you prices for a job he does not want to do, therefore he’s priced it to make it worth his while and out other easier jobs off

Always over pack an item is the rule… The rule is to make sure the item would still be ok if it was dropped from 30,000ft.

Buy him some GT85… its only 3 quid from Halfords… he will love it.

I agree… tipping is only generally done in the sense of “entertainment” rather than a stock purchase..

I would of thought a quick letter and handed to the said person would be a nice touch for their one to one meetings with supervisor… could help them to progress their career.

ps.. dont forget that email address and name you have will more than likely be linked to a facebook account, linked in, twitter etc if would you like a photo of the person too………..

also… I cant see that there is anything wrong with arranging for someone to knock on the said persons door and ask for a swap of items due to their mistake in returning the wrong ones… 🙂

Contact ebay via the phone option and advise you are doing the below..

Report this as theft/fraud to the police, provide them with all the buyers contact details, photos etc.

Contact ebay via the phone option again and provide them with the crime ref number and request the case is left open for investigation of fraud.

Advise that you are planning to take the buyer to the small claims court or via the police route and request ebay provide you with an official copy of all emails sent between both buyer and seller.

Then update the ebay case with facts only, detailing the persons full name address and item number.

Take new photos of the received parts with compares to the items you sent.

The reason the seller has sent back a duff item rather than an empty box is that you can use the postage weight as evidence compared to your receipt when you sent the item back.

This is a known scam and has been going on a while…. (chances are its a young kid with no idea of what can happen next.) — therefore the threats may scare them… but ebay cant normally reverse a refund. (you had a time frame to update the case saying item not received back.)

    Good luck

Was in the same position as you but wanted to buy new on the basis some of the used ones I looked at had a lot of part close to end of life..

In the end went for a RockRider 5.3 – £329.

Ticked all the boxes for the MRS (size small frame was one of them) and surprisingly the bike rides really well with a better spec than other bikes at that price range. Could of got a lesser speced HardRock or base model Felt, but spec wise the B’TWIN felt a better purchase..

    Spec –

Frame T4 T6 6061 aluminium; 1.90 kg in size L; sloping; reinforced tubes; light and responsive sports frame. Sloping: inclined top tube for superior handling and stiffness. Same geometry as the series 8 bikes. Can be fitted with a pannier rack.
    2

Fork / Suspension Rockrider XCR 100mm lockout fork by SR Suntour: lightweight and durable coil spring fork. Pre-stress and lock adjustment. 100mm travel, magnesium shafts. The damper finish ensures long-lifetime.
    3

Drivetrain 9-speed SRAM X-5 shifters; Shimano C050 front derailleur; SRAM X-5 rear derailleur; SRAM PC951 chain
    4

Chainset / Cassette Suntour XCM 302 22x32x42 aluminium chainset with SRAM cassette
    5

Brakes HAYES MX5 cable disc brakes. Effective and powerful braking even on difficult terrain such as mud.
    6

Handlebar / Stem / Steering Oversize 600mm Rockrider Handlebar by JD; Rockrider 6° oversize stem by JD. Aheadset VP A71 headset: Raised wide handlebars help you stay in control in all situations.
    7

Wheels RIGIDA SPHINX 32-hole rims; Formula disc ready DC19/DC22 hubs; Mach1 2 mm stainless steel spokes with sealed bearing hubs and disc brake-ready. Double-walled rims are extra solid.
    8

    Tyres New Hutchinson Python tyre
    9

Saddle / Seat post Rockrider by JD seat post; new Rockrider Sport saddle
    10

    Pedals Wellgo platform pedals.
    11

Weight 14.4 kg in size S, not including pedals

Worth a look at, other option is the Vulcan at Halfords, (which was £399 i think) or they have another at around £320.

    Cheers

Until they can do 500 miles on a charge and take 10 mins to recharge then I don’t see the point.

If your only doing local runs in it, it will be cheaper having a bike or using public transport.

    All watches tell you time….

All bikes take you from a to b.

All cars take you from a to b.

Small house or large house ?

    Horses for courses and all…….

Ps.. Nice watch by the way

    Just got:–

We cannot offer cover for the house you live in because it is in an area with a high risk of flood and/or subsidence.

    Which is totally incorrect.

Don’t see the point of them.. Buy a watch, enable strava, mute phone.

If you don’t know where your going.. Print off a map and stick it in the bag.

It’s fun driving in Paris ….

Not so fun with you enroute on holiday though on a Friday tea time.. I would avoid, plenty of smashes and delays on the a86 which you don’t need.

My cannondale f800 with lefty was 8 years young when I parted with it.

In that time it had only ever had new rings, chain and cassette,(XT) plus a DIY fork services, pads and cables.

The drive chain was ready for changing at point of sale but if that was changed it would of done a few more years at least.

My suggestion… Skip the bike shop and get your hands dirty, buy some tools and do it yourself. You will save a bit and hopefully enjoy it.
