Yup, I have long legs and short body and the kind of riding I do these days is a 2 hour razz round the woods, so having an XC stretch isn’t really necessary.

How about a small Commencal 4.1? Certainly strong enough and prolly a wee bit better than the 4X for general trail duties. Depends if you get out for much longer than a couple of hours though.

Dirt this month are loving the Cannondale Rush – big tyres, short stem and slightly bigger forks than the 110mm Lefty and you’re sorted.

Apparently low volume because of the falling rate. High volume won’t ramp up enough quickly enough to control it.

24/12 was great last year and the best course for that type of race I’ve ever been on, in fact Newnham and the SSWC2006 course at Aviemore are my 2 best courses. Great singletrack and not massively busy like MM so you can actually enjoy the trail at your pace for most of it.

As for the relay, you can swap the baton after how ever many laps you like, so you could do 2 or 3 then hand over if you fancied it. 1 lap at a time is prolly the most common though.

How about the Commencal 4 series too?

‘dale Prophet ticks those boxes except it’s 5.5 inch travel, but in the FR setting it’s got a 13 inch BB.
