No complaints on the rockshox one on my slash -when it worked. after about 18 months it started to weep oil and sounded wheezy. when I tried to get a service TF tuned couldn’t do it due to parts availability. Ive since bought a super deluxe coil and much prefer it – plus I shouldn’t have to worry when (if) it needs a service. I’d be wary of buying a used reakitv

Go up graig road, follow your nose and you’ll come out at the centre – not an easy climb though, loose Rocky and hard work on a trail bike, let alone a downhill bike.

As a sopranos fan I liked it. As a Sopranos fan my wife didn’t. Lots of Easter eggs which made it for me. Felt more like a pilot for a tv series than a stand alone film.

is it a trek thru shock? If so you’re going well to get it fixed in two weeks – TF tuned said end of the year for a service on mine.

Whatever you decide op have a normal bike as backup. Motor had just gone on mine, out of warranty – £900 to fix and lucky to get a replacement. Ebikes are great when they work. Useless lumps that are impossible to fix when the battery or motor goes.

Lasted me a couple of years. Old ones get relegated to work shorts. New ones for tidy.

In fact, I find Jackson with his girly, overly enthusiastic laugh annoying, too.

I’m with you on that – wish they’d tell him to tone it down.

What’s the thinking behind the fix? Any 2.5wt susp fork oil ok?

It’s 2019 model – think that’s the same as 2020? Before they added the storage compartment.

I mullet a trek slash, high setting with 27.5 x 2.4 wt minion vs low setting 29 x 2.4 wt minion. Lose about 10mm bb height, maybe half a degree slacker head angle (by phone app) with mullet. Haven’t measured the seat angle but its the alu version which is steeper than carbon. Can ride it in either set-up anywhere and wouldn’t complain if it was fixed, but having the flexibility to change is a bonus to an already great bike.

Hi mate I’ve done this recently with line comp 30 29er from a slash – bonty rim to dt Swiss ex511. Link to thread

All the spoke length calcs in the above thread worked out fine. Go on trek website and “help” chat thing person will send you wheel info.

Cheers all – It’s a Bontrager Line comp 30 wheel with dt ex511 new rim, so pretty sure the erd will be accurate. The hub is the Bontrager one. Trek help can’t give me the sizing. 29er 28 hole. Rim is dented tyre is buckled but is useable for the time being and I want to get a last few months use out of it during the winter before a rebuild. I can’t get callipers behind the rotor so will have to take that off and the cassette to accurately measure? Not sure I can be bothered – not a big job but feels like doing something for nothing really if I can get the length another way. Looking to order the spokes in readiness for new year rebuild.

Dont use the squegee – plenty of water with baby shampoo at the recommended conc and use non linting paper towel to smooth over the frame. as the water / shampoo is pushed from under the film its gets absorbed into the paper towel and allows the film to stick.

I was expecting a scrawny 14 year old. He could easily make the money for a new frame working the doors of a nightclub at the weekend. How old is he?

Dainese trailskins. The new pro version have more coverage and closer fit to knee than previous versions. Feather light but more than enough protection. I’ve had all three versions and they all work great.

Have my trek slash in mullet about 60% of the time. 27,5 2.4 tyre in back. Longer Rides use it in low setting as 29er. Shorter mucking about rides – practicing jumps, drops etc or dh type trails use it in high setting as mullet. As mullet, Bb dropped by about 10mm so need to be a bit more careful with pedal strikes and I notice the small wheel doesn’t climb as efficiently. But for shits and giggles the mullet is great.

Buy some foam grips that are not lock on and cut them to length you want. Esi are very good foam grips.
