Sounds familiar, I just swapped my 10plate Focus to a Octavia vrs auto estate for similar reasons.
Been a keen driver for years with hot hatches etc.. but just lately i detest the daily slog to get just about anywhere. I want a swift, well spec’d easy to drive, solid kiddy carrier. Job done.

Planned two roadtrips through help from the guys on here, I motel’d it as wanted freedom in the parks and off road capability but there’s plenty of RV stuff on there. Enjoy!

Went for a week few years ago and loved the place. Very beautiful part of Turkey. Spent most mornings doing some activity, loved getting into the hills on horseback, quadbiking up the coast for a swim and paragliding.. you must do this, the view and flight is stunning!
Second Buzz bar, sunset here is another must. Get the bus to Fetihye and wander round the market. Lots to do, I’d return in a heartbeat. Enjoy.

Don’t: Ever say ‘Watch this.. ‘ before throwing yourself off the biggest drop etc.. it will end in tears.

Do: Fall over clipped in in front of a crowd, get up smile and bow whilst dying a little inside.

They do a beer tower now, missus Q says no
i’m not allowed it. but a beer tower of 10%
    trappist beer would be amazing.

Stumbled upon a cellar bar in Krakow that did this, a tower of dark ale from their own microbrewery. Don’t remember much about the bar or beer but do vaguely recall sitting on a park bench for several hours afterwards arguing over where the hotel was.

Bought a Xeon CRS3000 couple of years ago based on the Bikeradar reviews.
Customer service were quick to answer questions and I liked tweaking the bikes spec online. The bike is more capable than I’ll ever be sadly, it’s whippet fast but still ok plodding through 100m sportives. Had a bottom bracket fitted last year and guys in lbs commented on quality of kit and finish.

I run with a club and when training for a reason like a quick 10k we do a run of about 12k with a steady few mile warm up then 1k at nearly flat out, 1k steady repeats twice a week with a long xc run of about 14 mile with some hills at a weekend.. or I Parkrun Saturday and bike Sunday. There’s a lot of training plans out there but this one worked for me without being too structured to feel like a chore.

The phrase two times.. it’s TWICE! The other half said it the other day and I had to leave the room.

Skinny verti cappuccino.. over my dead body will I request such a thing.

The teapots in motorway services that are hotter than the sun and piss tea everywhere.

I’m thinking you’re describing DOMS.. delayed onset muscle soreness. I suffer if I’ve ignored the bike for running too long, I find best thing to beat it is something high in protein straight after exercise, some like the whey stuff you can buy and mix, I go for a milkshake, banana or tuna sandwich.
If legs are really sore the following day a gentle spin or jog will flush the toxins out of the muscles.

Any other ex then yes I agree, I’m a soft touch and would still want to help.. even the itch I scratched as nuts as she was I was overjoyed when she informed of me her new partner late last year. The ex wife turned into a piece of work through separation and divorce though, I wouldn’t like to hear she’s dead but that’s she’s had a bit of a rough year then yeah I’m fine with that.

My ex wife popped up on Facebook as someone I may know not long ago, guessing she’d just created an account. Had a quick nosey and it looks like being the independent woman with a fab single life hasn’t turned out too well.. is that a bedsit you’re in in your profile? Anyway, although that ex relationship is still a bit fresh I’m not overly arsed in contact. However the girl before her was proper filth so last year I dropped her a message and found she was newly single too.. as we’d learnt new tricks over the years the sex was good but she was still a sandwich short of a picnic but I scratched that itch.. Now in a blissful relationship with a totally new girl.

As above, look up an auto trimmer local, pick up a seat on eBay or breakers. Fit second hand seat in car, take the curried one to trimmer and ask if he’ll pick the cloth off, then after a session in Vanish and some dettol wash get him to swap the cloth over onto new seat base.
Shouldn’t cost much, I’ve used a guy who does motorhomes and boat seats. the seats repaired in my old motors look as new.

I’m dad to a 10day old boy, I’m the least likely person to ever be a dad.. never had paternal instincts, happy living alone doing as I please. Took some time to get my head around it but we’re a family now and my little lad is awesome, ok he’s only a wee one but he’s deffo got some of my traits and features.
Don’t be afraid to muddle along, I’d never held a baby jet alone put a nappy on.
Read a couple of new dad type books but take advice with a pinch of salt.
Get a good road or mtb ride in the week before and be prepared it’ll be a couple of weeks before you’re out again.
Go for a run, I’m doing the occasional 5miler during nap time to keep ticking over.
If you’ve any box sets on stuff recorded hammer them and get everything watched. I’ve 3 episodes of Hannibal to watch but time’s precious.
Lastly enjoy but keep an eye on your partner.. mine went through hell but she’s doing amazing.

Loving this thread, I’m another casualty from the 89-94 northern clubs. Basics, Orbit, Hac, Hard Times, Bowlers, Maximes… So many good memories and after the best part of 15years out of it all I’ve just started dipping my toe back into a couple of these old skool reunions. We’re all a bit older, creakier and should know better but I’ve had some special nights with many old long lost friends. Roll on the 24th.. Tissera and Steve Luigi back together in Leeds 😀

I must be a bit odd. I LOVE little Fiats!

Same here, had a Panda and then a 127 when I lived in Spain.. great little cars, the 127 was a real giggle to drive. The new Panda is pretty good too, always book one as my hire car when I pop back over to see friends.

Worst car, either a very tired 1.4 cvh powered 1992 Ford Orion, I left this with the keys in when it finally expired, or the Morris Ital estate I once bought for a laugh.

Same setup here and can’t see any reason to change, squidgy in all the right places.

My old man has done a spot of driving for a local company when they’ve been let down and he can confirm that once a week the cars get driven very spiritedly down the nearest bypass. Buy it!

Ritchey WCS foams all the way, got them on both bikes. Stick ’em on with hairspray and they don’t move, even after many wet days in the Peaks, Dales and Scotland.. plus they feel fab and remove a bit of the trail buzz. Cheap as chips too.

Was in Malham recently (yes i know different part of englandshire) two pubs, one doing a roaring trade and the other was a bit “chrome and beechwood”.

The chrome and beechwood one would be the one that complained when 10 of us turned up for breakfast 15 minutes before they were ready. We didn’t return the following day.

My first event and loved every minute, brilliant course and fantastic atmosphere all topped off with a very unexpected team medal.
I’m absolutely in awe at the solos pulling consistent sub hour laps and being passed on the final climb by a fully rigid singlespeeder was just hilarious. Seeyou next year!
