Ours is from Battersea. They are very good at matching dogs to owners and very honest about the dogs they have to ensure a successful rehoming.

Sadly I don’t think so. I needed to have registered in the Foreign Births Register before their birth. Also daughter is now 18.

I’ll be applying for an Irish passport through my granny (RIP). It’s just a shame I didn’t do it before my kids were born as they will not qualify now.

I would say yes it is, if you want this type of bike. However, it is not a typical road bike – steel, cantis, 9 speed, geometry etc.
It would make a great commuter or light tourer, but if you want a bike to try road riding and maybe a sportive, I think you would be better off looking at a second hand road bike from one of the big manufacturers like Trek, Sepcialized or Cannondale.

Appeal. She might return to teaching in the future and won’t want to do the NQT year again. It may also be of benefit in other roles, such as an education officer for a charity. If she deserves the qualification, she should get it.

Just had a similar problem. The chain ring bolts were not loose!

I just found a load of Giro clothing in TKMaxx in Farnborough, including a casual jersey with rear pockets, so it might be worth having a look in your local one.
    A bit like this one:

My salsa pistol is ox platinum and has been a great companion for 5 years. It’s been all over the UK and over the 3 highest roads in the alps. What a shame.

Boardman team 29er? This will leave him money for shorts, helmet etc and other things that will make riding more comfy and enjoyable.

I did the Wildman Duathlon in Nov – 10K run, 20K mtb, 5k run. It was cold and I found it hard? Brick sessions are the key, as already mentioned, and I found hill repeats useful as it was an up and down course.

Bourne builidings in Farnham have a massive range on display including Charnwood log cabins. They did a full installation for us a while back. Might be worth giving them a call.

Saw these at the bike show and asked about them. If I recall, they will be about 35 quid and on sale in about 6 weeks.

There are a few Whyte M109 frames or complete bikes coming up second hand now. They are a good all day XC bike.
This one of ebay unused £749 including fork and headset

Well, the mystery whiskey has arrived and I have cracked it open. This is what I think, but remember I haven’t had an Arran whiskey other than the Founder’s Reserve.
It is definitely cask strength and needs some water. Not a typical island malt – it has lots of sherry and reminds me of Strathisla, no smoke or peat to speak of. Is it perhaps an Arran Sherry Cask, distilled in 97 but labelled 1987 by mistake?
Anyway, it is very drinkable and I’m happy with the swap.
Thanks thegreatape, Arran Founder’s Reserve on the way.

Many years ago, we had a similar situation. It was a scam where false identities are set up at various addresses and then the post redirected at the post office. However, often the Royal Mail often forgets to redirect and so the real resident receives loads of letters for random people.

Yes, that one, but I’ve got about 30 bottles…

If anyone is interested, I still have lots of bottles of the Arran Founder’s Reserve Single Malt, which I would be happy to sell or swap. Always looking for bike bits or other interesting whiskys or other booze!

Yes, the human race series, but I have only entered one as I work most Saturdays, so can’t do them all. To be honest the running is what is worrying me. I haven’t run that far for ages, but have quite a while left to get fit.

As others have said, consider a rescue dog. A good rescue centre will be very honest about the suitability of a dog to live with children. They will be very cautious and not rehome an unsuitable dog. Be clear about what you want and be prepared to wait for the right dog.
We’ve got a rottie cross from Battersea. Great with other dogs and children but a bit of a plodder as a running partner. We had a setter/retriever cross before – a lovely dog but very excitable!

I’ve got a Mountain Hardwear Lamina 45 Long, which is wider and longer than the regular one. I am considering selling it as I am old and skinny and get too cold!!
If interested let me know, otherwise the MH long bags are great and roomy (I also have a down one which is my best purchase ever).

    Karate monkey?
Can be found more easily second hand. Better as a trail bike than an Ogre and fine for all but the heaviest touring.

I’ve just got a Gordon and Macphail Highland Park cask strength which is pretty special.

The Waitrose own Islay 12yo is also surprisingly good (Bowmore?).

The sampling swap is a great idea – I’ve got some little sample bottles I could use.

Also, I have lots of the Arran Founder’s Reserve. So if anyone has an interesting bottle e.g. that Yamazaki (or bike bits) to swap, let me know.

We had sleet and snow for about an hour on the Stelvio last July, so I echo the comment about warn clothing, especially gloves. Mine got soaked through and so my hands froze on the descent.

There are still a few 2014 Whyte M109 around for that type of price.

Another shout for the Wild Country Zephyros Range. I’ve got the 1 man lite version. It’s a good combination of light weight and reasonable value. It also has decent space for kit and is longish. I’m about 6 foot and find my head touches the end of lots of tents and gets wet, but not a problem with this. I should probably have got the 2 man version which gives lots of room without much more weight.

Liking my Whyte M109s 2014. It is the alloy version, but has the carbon wheels. It rides great and the carbon one must be light too.
