I mentioned it a good while back. There was some sort of survey of cyclist cancer recovering folk asking if they thought it was a good thing for him to take part.

It’s been a long time in the planning.

I’m guessing they gave the thumbs up.

Around 8 years old my lad was the same. If the teacher asked a question he’d have no problem answering it eloquently verally. Give him a writing instrument though and initially he couldn’t get started at all.

Later he progressed to just being a slow writer. Now a couple of years later he’s much better.

My advice to him was get on and write any old shive down, if you’ve got time you can always go back and correct it.

My dad had a heart attack in his early 50s, smoker drinker.

    He died aged 83.

Having said that a mate of mine, fireman, cyclist etc. died aged 47 teh other week.

    So I say 50:50

I can get it as a mp4 file once its on iplayer and stick it in dropbox. Don’t have a DVD recorder but I’m sure someone will be able to do that for if you can’t.

    Thanks Nick, that’d be great.

I don’t think you’ll need 5 days to do 160 fairly flat kilometres, more like 2 even if you are unfit.

My 2 1/2 year daughter old chose my sons name whilst my wife and I were discussing his name.

She saw our neighbour over the road and said “Tom window”.

    We dropped the window though.

From Coniston, easily doable on a CX bike heading up bar a couple of rocky bits.

Down to Seathwaite is steeper. All but the last bit will go on a CX bike.

    Surely that’s OK?

    So 15mm/20mm vs QR.

Explain to me where the flex is in the QR system?

To my mind it either involves the QR not gripping the dropout which would lead to wear (which I’ve never seen)

Or that the hub itself flexes, which considering that most are made of non flexible aluminium alloys I’m not getting either?

I hope you didn’t get the giggles

So what did you say to him, Rich?

Turn up on my doorstep giving me grief will usually go one way.

I was polite as he’d brought his daughter along though (WTF).

    <What I wanted to say>

Your eyes don’t suggest it, but are you on drugs?

That’s odd I’d heard your daughter was into boys.

Your teenage daughter doesn’t know how to delete things from her phone?

    Have you seen 2glc?

Hmm, I didn’t have my reading glasses, so it all looked a bit fuzzy.

If you’ve got decent shorts, then either the positioning of the saddle, or the saddle itself may be an issue.

Get your sit bones measured, and make sure the saddle you have is suitable.

As others have said try and keep the weight of your hands and upper body.

I find on long rides that doing stretches of my neck arms and shoulders help to stop any stiffness building up.

Once you have your position on the bike sorted, there really shouldn’t be too much need for MTFU presuming you are riding at a steady pace, and are eating and drinking properly.

Edit: Do you carry a heavy rucksack?

You know- only twice have I had problems buying from STW. Both times they were well known STW’ers which kinda negates your request there ^

Yep, and as we know Hora is exemplary when it comes to classifieds etiquette.

Maybe if the seatpost hadn’t been clamped too tightly in the first place then the stanchion wouldn’t be scratched.
