Back at the villa for lunch. My garmin says we’ve 1/2 a km to do. A spin back to the bike shop should sort that.

Fair play to Richpips’ nipper. Though the scenery is making me think that it’s an easier prospect than slogging into a freezing northerly.

Agreed, he’s earned it though. This is the 5th we’ve started.

He did his first one in 2012.

    Loads of things.

I have a list that gets longer as I age. Some things happen, some don’t but the list always gets longer irrespective.

Cycling plans next year 4000+ miles of events so far.

But the bottom line, be happy.

The weather was shocking today so we only managed a short ride, then an afternoon with the girls in a bar. Oh 67 Kms BTW. So James unusually you’re ahead of Tom early on. ;)

I should make 5000 miles after the festive 500.

Minipips will have done 4700, including 6 century rides (one off road) and a double century.

A couple from a recent trip of ours to the Lakes.

Skiddaw and Helvellyn in a day.

A few more on our blog. http://minipips.blogspot.co.uk/2016/10/a-day-out-in-lakes.html

    My successful 200 write up

Oh, and when Tom and I gave it a go on the tandem.

Be assured the 200 though not that much further than the 100, is a very different beast, especially if the weather is gash.

    He’s earned an easy one.

Here you go, this link will give you a bit more detail of our actual trip.

    http://minipips.blogspot.co.uk/2016/08/tour-de-france-intro.html

As to what bike, there was everything from skinny CX file treads to full on fat bikes. I’d aim for something tyre wise near to 50mm with some tread.

We’re going to do it again.

This time we’re going to do it in Mallorca though, so hopefully no weather like this. :)

We rode most of the way up Snowdon today. Decided once it all got a bit icy to do the sensible thing, and turn back.

Obviously I could just go and do it whenever but being part of the group ride would add to the experience

I’d just go and have a go, for most folk you don’t have much company.

    Inspirational!!

    Best of luck.

    Thanks!

No mention of the ‘Puffer in the blurb? That’s when I first heard of you both.

We were trying to make the talk more road/gravel, rather than MTB. Though if there is time we’ll show his film which features Strathpuffer.

Looks proper reet! How’s the carbon transmitter?

A lovely thing to ride, and comfy to carry due to the oval down tube.

There’s some rubbish written about the drag on Rohloffs.

We’re just back from a month in France during which we did 2000 miles of which 700 was off road. (previous to that it’d only done 1000 miles)

    The Rohloff was ace.

Having said that, if I was on a budget then 3 x 9 works well. Make sure you carry a spare mech and hanger in case you drop the bike though. ;)

At 10 years he’ll fit into Rapha ladies xxs stuff.

I never found any kids shorts that were fit for anything other than a 30 minute spin.
