Anything that makes it more difficult for sellers to do a runner with ones cash is a good thing imo.

I got scammed some years ago for £30 ish quid. A seller opened an account and sold 60 thing for a similar price, then disappeared.

You might be honest, but there are plenty out there who aren’t.

and that’s before I go on about sellers being the ones who pay to sell on eBay and pay to receive funds via PayPal

Ebay is a business, they do it to make money.

and of course cropping throws away the extra resolution…

…..and the distracting crap you’d not noticed in the original shot. :)

How does one go about learning?

It’s all out there on the internet.

Loads of free photoshop tutorials, Flickr for inspiration, talkphotography forum for friendly advice, and of course never underestimate good old trial and error.

Can’t say I can do the wide angle thing, I’ve had a 10-20 sigma and a 10-17 fisheye, and never really had much success with them. As samuri says to get detail in the foreground you’ve got to be touching it.

    I’d suggest a 50mm. I’ve just bought a f/1.2 which the postie will be delivering tomorrow. :)

the hypersaturation and moody skies with halos around dark edges are the hallmarks of over zealous tone-mapping in photomatix or similar HDR programs.

    Snore….

I had a steel frame that happily accepted a 27 instead of a 27.2 seatpost. It never once slipped.

My current walk around lens is the 24-105 f/4 L IS

My next major purchase will be the Canon 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS to replace my f/4 non IS version.

    Canon’s IS technology rocks.

If I was you, I’d book. Some of the places above have few places for motorhomes. At Alpe D’Huez they seem to not mind camping by the lifts, though worth mentioning is that many places in France have local bylaws that strictly prohibit parking up in towns except for at campsites.

i fully understand how they work straightening tall buildings when the camera isn’t horizontal but how do they make railway lines parallel?

I’ve got a CompuRover AW which is a similar size.

It takes 2 bodies, 3 lenses, flashes and once you consider the weight is comfortable enough, and no problems with the helmet catching on it.

Me and my own family already wear helmets when skiing/boarding.

They shouldn’t be compulsory. It should be a persons choice. IIRC french ski schools won’t accept kids without them.
