    OP you are a pussy.

If you and your buddies were having a bad time you should have said whilst there.

Bitching about it after the fact when you had the chance to maybe square things shows a weak back.

A question with no real answer, as it depends on where you ride, and how strong your legs are.

    Good luck.

You need evidence of quality photography/videography which you appear to lack.

I’d forget about making money from your camera until you have the basics nailed.

I’ve a friend who has a log cabin not far away, and crucially 1/2 the price of others on the site.

I’ll get her email tmw if you’re interested.

Clip your DSLR case to your rucksack straps with mini carabiners.

Or get one of the Panasonic GFs. Good enough in anything other than poor light where they struggle.

Looks like they are made in Poland.

One things for sure if you have one of those ^^^ you are very unlikely to see another out on the trails.

Our primary has an overflowing bike shelter.

Our head has on a number of occasions in the weekly newsletter a) encouraged kids to ride to school b) told parents that they aren’t allowed to use the school car park to drop off their kids.

Lots of kids ride to school, and also lots of lazy gits make it a dodgy act getting into school by parking where they shouldn’t.

    Are you in any club.

A recent post for a sub £100 road bike on my running club newsletter apparently netted three replies, the cheapest being £30.

If you’re not in a rush get one from ebay. Sort by nearest, and check you can collect, and see it working first. Bought loads of electrics that way.

The problem is Highroad are struggling to get a sponsor

I don’t understand with their tour succsses why that would be the case?

I reckon having one gear is good strength training.

Riding fixed along with geared riders makes for a kind of yoyo effect. You will ride away from them uphill, and they will ride away from you on the downs.

Get some soft Kool-Stop pads or similar.

Check there’s no slack in your braking transmission.

But at the end of the day cantis do blow goats.

Cycling back through France one winter.

Tired and after dark I pulled off the road and got into my bivvybag.

Morning came, I looked around to see I’d slept in a graveyard.

    The zombies didn’t get me.

Apart from the financial considerations, are you someone who’s happy being at home all day every day with no adult company?

I worked part time when mine were young with the priority being the kids, and wouldn’t have missed it.

Don’t rely on riding your bike more though unless you’ve a way of towing all 3 behind you. :)

This does raise an interesting point, and certainly seems to have ruffled a few feathers

All the young lads down at my local skate / bmx park spend every free minute they have hanging out down there. Being youthful types with few responsibilities, they seem to have an awful lot of free time. They are constantly learning new tricks off each other, and there are several loose ‘groupings’ of riders – each group brings fresh perspectives and new ideas.

I spent a good part of last summer down the park with my lad.

I learned loads of stuff by riding with the kids, practice with the right people and you can better yourself if you have the mind for it.

Having said that pay the people who can if you’re time limited or have a mental ting going on. The kids have no fear, which may hurt you.

Always quite fancied Doveholes, though not on the main drag. Quality hills that near no one visits on the doorstep.

Oh, and Glossop vs Sheff, likewise I’d settle for less populace, remote(ish) riding should you wish over coffee shops.

Down bag and 2 weeks in a bivi bag. I hope it’s dry irrespective of your mat.

Did a few weeks in the Alps one summer in a bivi/down combo.

A couple of visits to the nearest tunble dryer was needed.

I don’t frequent the place much anymore, but do occasionally look in to check that some people are alive, and that the rest of you are still rehashing what’s been written here a hundred times before.

Any bars with a total width of 50cm or more are banned.

There’s been lots of debate on the 3 peaks forum, those with bars wider will be unlikely to slip through the net this year.

I had a cross check, no way I’d want to cart one up the 3 peaks.

I modded a down jacket some years back, the down went everywhere, nightmare.

Having said that a Tesco down bag is more likely to be more feather than down.
