I reckon for commuting some landcruisers pumped up to 60psi should be spot on, those things are indestrucatable and probably not bad for a tuebless setup given their rigidity.

Landcruisers are loose on most rims in my experience. I tried to ghetto tubeless a pair.

For commuting, I wouldn’t bother. If When you get a proper flat it’s going to be messy and as you’ve got a tight tyre rim fit, it could take an age to fix.

I’ve got a proper stans tubeless wheelset on my road bike, and I’m not inclined to run them tubeless, or at least not until the price of tyres etc doesn’t add up to over £100.

I tried ghetto the other year on the 3 peaks with a 50% success rate.

The setup had worked for some weeks before. Would try again, but probably not on a rocky course.

I’ve a friend (the father) who is in a very similar position.

Best of luck he’s tried every angle.

As others have said sooner or later he’ll get a grip.

New allotments is fine if a little damp. Plenty of puddles but all rideable as of last week.

Drop to either Phoside or Peep o’ day will have a a couple of bits, given the choice Peep o’ day is easier in the wet.

Singular Peregrine, comes with an eccentric bottom bracket, so run it SS geared. Yes it takes discs but if you go for BB7s I don’t think you’ll go far wrong. Better than the cross check imho, and I’ve had both.

    That.

Seems odd that Rodriguez who has been ranked No1 this year doesn’t get a ride in the big tours.

But then nothing surprises me these days with the UCI.

Katusha didn’t make the cut – Saxo did

“In accordance with the UCI regulations, the Licences Commission was requested by the UCI administration to adjudicate on the refusal to register as well as the issuing of the UCI WorldTour licence to applying teams.

As a result of the hearings held on 19, 21, 22, 28 November and 7 December, the Licences Commission has issued a UCI WorldTour licence to the following teams:

    AG2R La Mondiale 2013-2016
    Euskaltel Euskadi 2013-2016
    Former Rabobank 2013-2014
    Garmin Sharp 2013-2014
    Team Argos–Shimano 2013-2016
    Team Saxo – Tinkoff 2013-2014

Finally, the Licences Commission has granted registration for the 2013 season to the following teams:

    FDJ
    Lotto Belisol
    RadioShackNissan

The request from the team Katusha for registration in first division has been rejected. ”

Maybe if Tinkoff had a slightly different attitude to doping things might have been different.

““This problem is exaggerated. As far as I understand it, the topic of doping exists everywhere, in other sports too, but nowhere does it get such phenomenal attention”.”

Unless you’re in a rush as in recycle times Yongnuo or Nissin are as good as the posh ones.

    Or older Canon FD lenses.

Ironically, these are about the only old lenses you can’t fit to EOS cameras without having to use some low quality optical adapter. Pretty much all others use adapters that don’t require glass.

Not true you can get AF confirm adaptors that don’t require utilise glass. Check ebay.

Had one and quickly got rid.

High centre of gravity affects the bike’s handling.

Most amusing going over speed bumps though.

A trailer is far more visible on road, and imho the only option if you want to do any off road stuff.

@richpips – will the Moda ‘cross bikes take mudguards and/or a rack?

Yep a pair of eyelets on each side at the rear so you could run both. Mudguard fittings at the front.

You may have to use some cunning to avoid the canti cables on the cross version that we have.

Moda bikes do nice kids bikes too if you’re after a road or cyclo-cross type bike.

They come with a 2*9 setup with STI levers.

I did have to swap out the cassette for a mountain bike one though.

Just had a look, Llandegla, Penmachno aren’t particlularly car accessible. Possibly bits of CyB though I don’t know it that well.

The blue at Whinlatter climbs steadily in bits iirc.

Delamere is good for winter riding if it hasn’t rained too much.

Gloves, my 7yo is currently sporting Chiba Technic gloves size large, so the smaller sizes should suit your kids.

If you had two cars, I bet you could come up with something.

Though at 5 years old most green and blues at trail centres should be doable, with a couple of sweetie stops on the big climbs.

Is that the bit from Stephenson Ground into Seathwaite? Didn’t realise they had done that too

Not unless they’ve done it this week.

Not seen any full reviews yet but bear in mind that although folk are saying the sensor is small, it is still larger than the sensor in compacts so it should have better low light capabilities.

At $900 it isn’t really competing with a compact is it?

So do I still hold the fixie record or has Rich snatched it from my grasp?

(I’m hoping the former otherwise I’m going to have to do it next year to snatch it back)

I’ve let you keep it for another year.

Next year it is mine though.
